Asuna is a close blood relative of Negi..not his mom but close enough so that marrying him would not possible. Almost like Keitaro and Konoka.

Spoiler for Chapter 78 spoilers:

The cover is a cute Christmas one (keep in mind that it's mid-late June story-wise). Setsuna has a cat-ear Santa hat!
The chapter starts with Negi and Asuna sleeping together. Negi gets a rude wake up when he almost kisses Asuna. They run past Takamichi on their way to school, and Asuna runs off. When they get there, everybody is working on the festivial. Once again, something is mentioned about the World Tree which sparks the interest of some people.

Later that day, Negi looks at his schedule for the School Festival, which looks quite full.

Negi's Schedule at the begining (in rough order):

Day 1:

Makie
Ayaka
Ku Fei

Day 2:

Natsumi
Konoka
Fuuka/Fumika
Satsuki
Zazie
Asuna

Day 3:

Sakurako/Madoka/Kakizaki/Ako

Then, Nodoka, Yue, and Haruna walk up. Nodoka gives him an invintation, then runs off. Then Chachamaru walks up, dressed in a kimono. She gives Negi another invite... then runs off even faster than Nodoka. Then Kotarou gives Negi an invite (this is getting old...).

Kamo starts scheming something as two girls walk by. Ako and Madoka are suprised to find Kotarou with none other than teenage Negi. Then Ako gives him an invitation... then runs off. Up walks Evangeline to still-teenage Negi. Judging from her reactions, I assume she thought it was "someone else". She mentions something that makes Negi shake... another invite? Think that's the end? Then Sayo shows up.

Negi's Schedule at the end (in rough order):

Ayaka

Chachamaru

The School Festival being too long can be quite annoying, hopefully it ends. I dont mean leaving us in the dust for a conclusion, but enough where we are satasified ne? Too long ruins the story. Too short makes the story too complex.

Now this is my opinion now. ^_^ Ja ne

Well Mr. A can end it all in one chapter if he wants to but that would ruin the whole festival I think. I think one volume would be maximun length, any longer will be too long (although the school trip took 3 volumes....). Since there are 21 girls in the schedule maybe Mr. A will do 2 girls per chapter and with a bit more emphasis on maybe nodoka or Ako. That would still takes one and half volumes. Damn Negi, you really need some Viagra to last

I can see the porn fanfic will have a field day hahaha.

BTW, I kinda want to see Eva as 14-15 years old fighting Negi. That would be one hell of a fight. But seriously, who the hell in the school can give the "yoai" couple any problem lol.

Hopefully in the tournament chapter we'll get to see Chao Lin Shen in action.

No, that had been building up. If, it had been with his entire class...that would had surprised me. If the senior class got into the act...hehe.

Those invites are venues where the girls put their best foot forward. Almost as good as a date. Not to mention what they do afterwards.

I'm completely hoping that Nodoka gets the prize at the end (it would be "non-typical" as 'Mr. A' said he wanted to do this time)

effectively that leaves basicly every possibility BUT asuna open.....

IF Mr. A gets his way.... remember he actually didn't want to do a harem anime in the first place, I know he's "manuvering" the story so he's happy with it, but it's entirely possible that runaway Asuna popularity could over-ride such things

Of course, that doesn't change the fact I want to see Nadoka end up walking down the aisle =P her blush would be *LEGENDARY*

As a matter of fact, i'd be STUNNED if it WAS asuna just because that would be almost carbon copy of Love Hina

I vote the most likely are as follows, (modify slightly for wishful thinking)

1. Nodoka gets stedily more brave and grows closer to negi, and Asuna turns out to be a family member. Eventually he actually OPENS HIS EYES and realizes that all that red in her face and gasping and panting is a tad more then her walking accounts for.... he "Takes responsability" and they settle down before Negi realizes it might be dangerous being married to a woman with TELEPATHIC MEANS (good luck Negi!)
strong points: Mr. A doesn't want to be typical, She's head over heels in love with him, similar hights =P
weak points: Asuna

oh... and the fact that Nadoka ROCKS!!! XD

2. Asuna and Negi get closer and closer through random violence and her clothing's lack of magical defense. Until at last she finally admits her feelings........... at which on cue the world is threatened by an overpowering magical force which delays the (then inevitable) "hook up"
Strong points: Asuna has entire CHAPTERS exploring her feelings for negi in a love context, closest amount of contact, not to mention all the history sharing and life threatening experiences....
weak points: Mr A doesn't want to be "typical"

3. (ecchi ending

The ninja twins (or any other girl) drag him off into the woods and no one sees Negi again until he's a much more "experienced" man.... what... what!? Why are you looking at me like that?
Strong points: Doujinshi sales up, "Exceptional Technique" and "Suprisingly Adult Tastes <3"
weak points: mysterious reluctence in further USA releases, Various people deeply offended at lines on paper getting their mack on...(?)

4. And sadly the most likely thing, is that Negi ends up single with a major partner (asuna likely due to nadoka's general lack of combat ability *cries* ) but no romantic implications. A lot of minor partners.... (with only 1 way romantic implications) and teaches secure in the knowledge that he's kissed every single one of his students.
Strong ponits: he's 10 years old, "non-typical" (harem ending with no "winner" ranma being the only exception I know of) also doesn't 'exactly' step on anyone's toes.

I did some research using what was listed on her card.

The A stands for Athanasia, a variation of the Greek word for immortality, Athanasius.
The K stands for Katherine. The card says Ecaterina, which is the Latin word for it.

So, her full name is: Evangeline Athanasia Katherine McDowell.

Heh, you also make a strong case...for Chachamaru!

The major fly in the ointment would be Eva-chan. Would she allow romance to blossom between Chacha-chan and Negi? Would she want father and son? Would would happen betwen Kamo-kun and Chacha-zero if that happen? Would it end up being a Eva-Chachamaru-Negi pairing?

Face it, the girl is in love! And she is a way better ministra in combat than Nodoka would (a Nodooka-Chachamaru-Negi pairing?)
