Life is a thing most of us take for granted. Until we lose someone that we charish, are we forced to realize that things will never always be the same.
I knew I wouldn't sleep tonight so I didn't even bother trying to. Erio knew I was a vampire because of Chrono and was used to it by now. When I told him I was going to go hunting he didn't bat an eye and wished me the best of luck. He was a sweet kid. A little hooked on those military games, but still a sweet kid. To prepare for the night I put on my bodysuit; a skin tight, almost latex type outfit that zipped up my back. It came complete with boots and gloves, as well as buckles and large silver rings dangling from my wrist. Despite being so tight that it creaked softly when I walked, I felt as if I wasn't wearing anything at all, and had complete movement.
And my breasts were, for once, not jiggling all over the place at every step.
I wasn't in the mood to hunt but instead I drove my bike down to my favorite bar, the very same one that Nanoha and I had our first date at. The bartender greeted me but understood when I simply nodded back at him. A scotch on the rocks was filled before me and I took a slow sip of it to taste the flavor that I had come to really appreciate. Living for so long has made my tongue a little picky when it came to taste, and my heightened vampire senses brought out everything when I placed it in my mouth. Honestly, I could eat something and tell you everything that was inside of it after only chewing a few moments.
I loved whiskey. The complex flavor mingled around my mouth and calmed me down to the point where I closed my eyes and concentrated on picking out what kind of wood it was made from. Oak... with a strange but welcome coconut lingering in it. Another sip was taken and I leaned onto the bar sadly. Nanoha was obviously freaked out about what I had revealed to hear earlier and I really couldn't blame her. Vampires were hardly something to take lightly, and she was just at the tip of the iceberg. If she stayed with me I would have to tell her my story, explain everything in detail. After that... well after that I would either be alone again or I would have someone very special.
Despite wanting to push her away at first, I couldn't bring myself to be happy about this chance to be rid of her once and for all. What can I say, I fell for her...
A person sat next to me and ordered a drink. I ignored this at first but I had a weird feeling after a few moments. My eyes turned to the side and I looked at a man of medium build giving me the eye. “I wouldn't try,” the bartender told him in passing. “Fate there isn't one you can pick up.”
The person beside me smiled at me, leaning forward and speaking close to my face. “Hey there sexy, want a fun time tonight?”
He met my eyes and I knew instantly why he was giving me bad vibes. A small fang was noticeable when he smiled, a sure sign of a newly converted vampire. They took time to grow and often pushed out the teeth they would replace. Personally I have had my fangs ripped from my mouth more times to consider pleasant, but each time gave me firmer fangs, sharper and a little longer. They weren't to the point of being goofy looking like the silly comic book vampires, but they were just long enough to pierce a vein. That's all I needed and that's all my body could give me. As I turned my attention back to the man who was failing miserably at trying to hypnotize me with his eyes, I simply sighed. “Get lost.”
The man stood up, apparently pissed that I had denied him. Was he so stupid as to try after failing? He put his hand on my shoulder and I quickly snapped, already annoyed at being hit on right now. I blurred behind him and ripped his arm behind his back and jerked so hard his shoulder dislocated. As he fell to his knees I mentally debated going further but restrained myself. “Alton,” I asked the bartender gently. “Please get security to clean up the mess?”
“You got it, Fate.” The man nodded at me and shortly two large men came to lift up the shocked man to haul off.
I reseated myself and found yet another sit beside me. This time a rather girly type drink was sat down and a soft voice came. “You're snappy tonight.”
My eyes widened slightly. “What brings you here?”
“Customers,” the man told me simply. “Speaking of which, I have the analysis you requested.” A folder was placed in front of me after being removed from a black, soft briefcase that also held an expensive looking laptop. “Have the money?”
“Of course,” I reached down to a small zipper on my leg and carefully slid out a check. “Pen?”
“Don't have one with you?”
“You're lucky I can fit paper in this outfit. Fork one over.” I took the pen from him and jotted down a large sum on it. “Here.”
“A pleasure,” he took it and placed into his shirt pocket. “The vial inside of the stake you gave me is made up of an interesting composition.”
“Details?”
“In the folder,” he told me casually while taking a sip of his drink. “But basically... it reacts to blood cells and destroys them. The interesting thing is, it is harmless to every type of human blood cell I can think of.”
“Figures.” I slowly drank and crunched a piece of ice. “You worked fast.”
“I've seen it before.” The man leaned forward and grinned when my hand tightened over the glass I was holding.
“You work for them?”
“I work for money,” he countered easily. “What goes on in your war has nothing to do with me. If you have a job, I'll see to it. If you don't, I won't bother you. Rest assured, Fate, no one will know of our business, just as I won't tell you what they are after.”
I smirked. “I could beat you up and force it out of you.”
He chuckled. “Would you want to?” He looked down at his drink. “I have a request for you, though.”
“Oh?”
He nodded. “Half off next job if you accept it. That girl you met with the other day at school, Nanoha.”
“Yes?”
“Don't turn her.”
I glared into my drink and slammed it down, empty. “I wasn't planning on it.” I nodded at Alton and took the folder as I moved to leave the bar, leaving the man with the long blond ponytail by himself.

Chapter 52
Vatican Knights
Spoiler for The judment of Vivio:
"Vivio Valentine, you are here under the charges of traition, hide information to your superiors and violation to the code of the Vatican Knights, how do you declare yourself?"
"Guilty" That was my first answer in my judmentIN that enormus hall, yes, I had been judged for the charges of Traition, quite ironic, Don't you think? May be you are a bit lost so I will tell you what happened
After caught me, Rapahel toke me with Dr. Van Hellsing, he discovered the corpse of Alastor Wilson in the sewer, I was forced to reveal everything, well, not "everything" of course, I keeped hided the detail of the traitor, I told thet that Night I recived a letter from this Alastor Wilson,in wich he was asking me to randevous with him alone, acording to the code of the Vatican Knights, my obligation was to reveal this information to my superiors, thing that of course I didn't, I told them that he told me about this Victim 20 who was still alive and about the ubication of this machine in Arizona, but that didn't helped me a lot, I was in serius troubles
"Well, that's good, you will save us lots of troubles with that confesion" Raphael told about who did I declare myself
"I just, tried to..."
"To What? To be a hero? To gain some reputation among the Knights? Uh?" Raphael keeped his acutations against me
"Vivio... There is no justification for what you did" Dr Van Hellsing said "You didn't trust in your partners, you didn'tr trust in your brothers, you are a disgrace and don't deserve any kind of concideration"
"Dr. Please, she was just tring to help... in the wrong way, yes, but still..." Sky was tring to defend me
"No Sky, you know the code, you know the punishment for this... banishing" Dr added
I was going to be banquished, exspulsated out of the Vatican Knights, launched to the streets without any kind of help or future, I was going to be nothing
"Please, I beg you... I'm sorry, don't... just don't please" I was scared, if that happened, I will never going to see Karil, Jasper or Pink again, I had nothing out of the Knights, no family,no friends, What shall be of me?
"No! No concideration, Vivio, you are out of the Knights! Right Now!"
"No, please!" I falled over my knees, I putted my hands together and started to cry "Please!.... You are my family, my only family, don't do this to me, I will do anything, Anything please!"
"How pathetic you are! Now you..." Before Raphael could end, Drako Sasuke interrupted
"Dr... May I talk?"
"Go ahead Sasuke"
"Vivio... what she did had no forgivness, she trusted more in this Alastor than in us, but I knew her, she is not bad, she deserve a chance, but not an easy one" Dr. Van Hellsing remained silent for a secind, then he asked me
"Anything you say?"
"Y-Yes Dr. anything"
"Very well, You will face a task, if you succed, you will not only remain in the Vatican Knights... I will also give you... a Vatican Paladin rank"
I was shocked, the Paladin rank was the higest rank that a Vatican Knight could recive, there were only 4 Vatican Paladins in that time, Sky, Raphael, Dr. Van Hellsing and another one who leaded the Knights in America
"But if you fail" The Dr. added "You will die, Vivio... do you dare to face... The Mace of Doom?" The entire hall remained silent
"Dr, You can't... she, she is still to young, the mace is... is too much!" Sky told
I knew what was the mase of Doom, it was a task, one in wich you are forced to enter into a place in wich you face the most horrible and deadly slaves captured by the Knights, the ones who beat the task are turned into Vatican Paladins, the ones who fail, felt the most horribly of the deads
"So Vivio? What you will do? I'm not forcing you to face the mace.... you still can asept the punishment of Banishing..." Dr Van Hellsing added, the Mase was horribly yeah, but as I said, the Vatican Knights was all my family, Karil, just thinking in never saw her again...
"I will face the Mace of Doom... because I will not leave my family... I prefer to die instead of that"
"Very well" The Dr. Added, then he standed up and wolk out of the room
"Ha, this will be fun" Raphale said "It will be very funny, to watch you die"
Vampire Fate:
So things are being spilled out. Fate telling Nanoha about being a vampire and Nanoha telling fate about the disease. It's good to know that Nanoha accepts her, its so cute. Yuuno is the contact! What a twist. B

“Fate-chan has been naughty,” the voice continued, sugar and poison, dripping with seduction. “Fate betrayed my trust. The woman’s long, brown ponytail fell against the blonde’s chest as she leaned close, warm breath playing against the captive woman’s cheek. The brunette opened her soft, wet lips and brought her mouth to her captive’s ear, taking the lobe in and nibbling slowly, gently.
If you want it, let me know. Nanoha isn't the only tease around here :3
almost choked on what I was eating when I read this. I want MOAR!

Spoiler for No title yet, open to suggestions:
Alone in a dark room, a young girl gasps frantically, laboring to take another breath, to draw more oxygen into her ravaged lungs, to combat the heartsblood slowly filling the organs. The girl’s eyes glaze as she stares up at a smooth, empty ceiling—blinded by the pain in her body, and in her soul. Desperately, she tries to speak, to call out. Blood bubbles out of her open mouth, gagging the girl. In a last act of defiance—toward her tormentor, now long gone; or the inevitable, she could not be sure—the young woman clawed at the wet carpet, dragging herself, twisting her broken body to the side, so she could cough out the offending fluids.
“Please,” she cried, barely above a whisper, “please, someone…… please help me…..”
Another coughing fit, as one of her lungs collapsed completely. More blood on the carpet, another mess for someone to clean up. The girl’s body convulsed at that thought, and her crimson lips curled up into a sardonic smile at her own absurd thought process. Surely whoever found her would have more to deal with than a stained carpet.
Her smile fading into a grimace of pain, the young woman tried once more to call out. Her voice sounded so small in her ears, so lost amongst the throbbing that rose in volume as her heartbeat ebbed. “Please.”
Her eyes teared in frustration, at the cruelty of her captor, at her own weakness; even at her lost god—the faith that had failed to see her through her father’s abuses; that had delivered her into the hands of that….. that monster. Another cough; another scarlet flower blossoming on the beige carpet.
“No…..” she whispered to herself, “No!” Louder, through gritted teeth. “I don’t want to die….. I don’t….”
Her body curled up on itself as a massive wave of pain flowed through her, over her. The girl whimpered, no longer able to cry out. Her arms and legs began to shake, and her teeth bit into her lip as her body failed.
“It hurts! It hurts! Someone, anyone! Please, save me! Mother, save me!”
The young woman felt soft hands lift her head, drawing her into a warm embrace. With the last of her strength, the dying girl turned her head into the warmth, burying her face against the soft figure. Gentle hands caressed her, one patting her back, while the other ran its long, delicate fingers through her matted hair.
“Shh, little one,” the figure replied, its voice soft and gentle, with a slight huskiness. “Rest now. It’s all right.”
The figure leaned forward, its face all but touching the young girl’s head. “Pain, pain, fly away,” it whispered softly, kissing the girl’s brow.
The young woman sighed and closed her eyes, surprised to find that the pain truly was gone.
The figure sat in silence, rocking the body in her arms for a moment longer before setting it gently to the ground. It stands, its black cape falling into place behind it, revealing feminine curves. The woman’s head remains tilted downward, causing long blonde ponytails to fall to either side of her sculpted face. The Blonde lifts her head and holds her arms before her. “Bardiche,” she murmurs, opening burgundy eyes as a scythe manifests in her waiting hands.
The blonde looks down sadly at the broken girl before her, and—almost lovingly—taps the head of her weapon against the body. A small, blue wisp drifts upward from the still-warm corpse, and is drawn into the large yellow gem mounted on the scythe.
The blonde blinks in surprise, and wipes away a single tear that had risen, unbidden, to the surface, and takes a step backward, away from the bloody scene before her. Shaking her head sadly, the young woman closes her eyes again, bidding herself vanish.
I'm intrigued. Please continue. So many questions to be answered.

How did it end up like this?
We were supposed to be the best of friends forever.
But something happened.
We both changed.
And now, as we stare down each other, we know that one of us wasn’t going to walk away from this alive. One of us was going to die. There was no way around it. Not anymore. I failed you back then Fate-chan. I let them do something horrible to you, and you never forgave me for it.
I had allowed them to infect you with something, which only they could cure. So you had willingly joined them, despite my efforts to stop you.
I guess this was just meant to be.
We met as enemies.
We shall die as enemies.
Above the burning city, two mages stared down one another as they prepared to fight.
There was no other choice to be made. As phrased by the great Optimus Prime in cartoon history, “One shall stand, one shall fall.”
Two of the greatest mages in TSAB history gazed upon one another. Steel determination echoed within their eyes.
Both were determined to defeat the other, each with one goal in mind: to free someone from repression. One was to release someone from a disease, the other to free someone from captivity. There was nothing that could stop what they would do. Both ready to pay the sacrifice, they readied their weapons as they called forth their battle forms.
“Raising Heart, Exceed Mode!”
“Bardiche, Overdrive, Sonic Form!”
“Excelion Mode”
“Sonic Drive”
In a burst of energy, both warriors surged forward as both warriors called upon their weapons again.
“Riot Blade”
“Strike Flame”
In an explosion of energy, weapons collide as shockwaves of great proportions rippled through the very air, knocking all in its wake clean off their support.
Not giving in for a moments rest, both warriors charged in again as mighty war cries erupted from their lips, as tears of anger and sadness poured from their eyes.
Forced into this combat that neither could back down from, they took solace that they could share one last thing together: an all out battle between the two of them. Everything else they had shared had no meaning anymore.
Their daughter, the only they had left to share was dead. Suffering from the very same disease one of them was suffering; her body had succumbed to the disease before either could get the antidote to her. Despite their best efforts, the girl had died with a smile on her face, glad she could’ve said goodbye.
But unfortunately, that had been the last of the falling supports that ultimately set the two on either side of the line. Nanoha stayed with the TSAB, while Fate had joined the darkness once more, with the promise of being given a cure for her ailing body.
But for all its worth, she had only been given countermeasures that would ensure her body stayed in top form. She had but one final task in order to finally be given the medicine that would allow her to live: destroy the Ace of Aces.
Raging forth, both warriors clashed in a brilliance of magic and power. Neither would back down, not when so much was on the line. They would complete their mission, even if it was the last thing they did.
“Plasma Lancer!”
“Accel Shooter!”
A mighty explosion boomed between them as their attacks collided. Diving deep into the smoke, they clashed one more as a fury of yellow and pink filled the sky, struggling from supremacy. Back and forth they clashed, as every contact and blow erupted through the air, as the pain filled attacks touched those who could do nothing but watch the two superpowers fight it out in one final clash.
They, who had been once the greatest of friends, had been reduced to bitter enemies, heartbroken by the actions of one another, who could never forgive one another. Though their love for each other stood strong, their hatred for each others crimes stood stronger still, and trumped the love.
Nanoha had done the unforgivable: allowed their Vivio to become infected by the very disease Fate had been infected with. But Fate was stronger, and was able to fight off the disease. But Vivio, being only 7 years old, her body wasn’t able to fight it off. It had cost her life.
Nanoha had to do one simple thing: do not let her barrier drop, and blow every single last one of them out of the sky. But she had failed. She had opened up a hole in her barrier to let the forwards in, but had held it open to long. One had gotten away, and managed to set off its payload.
Although it had hit an unoccupied area, Vivio had been close enough to catch the edge of the cloud that infected the air before it had been sealed off.
Fate, in her anger had committed a sin of her own: betray everything she knew and stood for in her anger and sadness. She became everything she stood against. She fought for the enemy, all in hopes that she would get the antidote to live. But to Nanoha, it made no sense. She could’ve been happier with her, even though Vivio had died.
There was no logic to why Fate left them for the enemy. To this day, she never figured it out. What would she do after she got the antidote? She had made herself into a criminal once more, and this time she wouldn’t be spared from the penalties that the TSAB would set out against her. She had wilfully turned on them. She would be punished, and forever branded a criminal, a traitor.
So what was there to gain joining the enemy; to go on living a full life in utter shame?
“Why?!” Nanoha bellowed as brought the tip of the Strike Flame upon Fate only to have it stopped by her Riot Blade. “Why are you doing this?! Answer me this time!”
“So I can bring back Vivio!” Fate yelled back, forcefully pushing Nanoha back as she charged in for an attack.
“Where my mother failed, I will succeed!”
“But that’s impossible,” Nanoha panted as she struggled to defend. Although she had learned much from Fate, she was still nowhere her level of proficiency.
“You can’t bring back the dead!”
“Her brain’s still alive!” Fate screamed. “I’ve hidden her in a special compartment underneath our bed that even you never knew of!” Nanoha’s face visibly paled at the sudden statement.
Fate didn’t know: their home had just been destroyed just 10 minutes prior. If Vivio even was alive before, she had truly died now. What was she going to tell Fate now? That her efforts were in vain? That everything that she had done until now was for naught?
“I will build her a new body,” Fate exclaimed, surprising Nanoha when she struck her with the broad side of her blade. “I will use the very technology and powers that created my body, and place her brain inside! I’ll bring her back. You’ll see! I’d gladly trade everything to see her alive again!”
“But…but how does that work?” Nanoha screamed tearfully. “How can you live knowing that you’ll probably never see her grow up? To never see her accomplishments, to see her graduate, fall in love. Can you truly believe that you’ll be happy, to never be there for her? To guide her through life? Can you live with yourself knowing you’ll never watch her life play out?!”
“It doesn’t matter as long as Vivio is alive,” Fate screamed back, as her attacks intensified to new levels. “I meant that I’d give everything, including my own life to bring her back!”
“How can you say something like that?” Nanoha shouted back, firing off several shots towards Fate. “Don’t you want to see everything she would go through if you saw this through?”
“You would take care of her,” Fate responded, as she called for Riot Zanber as her sudden barrage of two blades began to overwhelm Nanoha. “You would make her happy. I know you’d do your best to give her the best life she could have with you!”
“But she’d know it’s better with you! You said so yourself. If she was still alive, she’d know life was better with the two of us.”
“Was alive? She is still alive! She’s under our bed!”
“No she’s not,” Nanoha sobbed as they locked blades. “Our room was just destroyed…our floor, the floor below, and the floor above our room…nothing’s left. Just a hole.”
Nanoha felt her heart squeeze as Fate’s slumped.
Riot Zanber held loosely in her hands, her arms swayed gently from the weight while her hair flew about her, creating a haze around her, clouding Nanoha from her reaction.
But she didn’t have to wait long as she suddenly felt her world slow around her.
In a scream of fury, Nanoha paled as she came face to face with the ferocity of Fate’s visage. Eyes utterly dilated to the point there was nothing but red, Nanoha felt she was staring into the face of the beast. In a burst of anger, she bared her teeth, which seemed almost demonic-like when in an explosion of power, she surged forth.
Nanoha could watch in slow motion as she came to her. There was nothing she could do to defend herself. There was no way to call upon her Round Shield on time. Fate was far to fast in her Sonic Form. Raising Heart did not have that kind of reaction time to keep up.
“Fate-chan, stop!” Nanoha cried out.
“Strike Flame Expansion”
In a sudden squelch of blade piercing flesh, those who watched could only watch in horror as the act before them play out.
“Nanoha,” Fate weakly muttered. Glancing down at her chest, she saw Raising Heart Excelion Strike Flame embedded into her chest. It probably pierced her heart if anything.
“I guess, we can go see Vivio,” Nanoha weakly chuckled, not even having to look down to know Bardiche’s two blades had cut embedded themselves into her lungs. She probably only had less than a minute before her body gave out.
“Nanoha…” Fate weakly sobbed.
“Hush,” Nanoha whispered, leaning her forehead against Fate’s. “Just let your anger go. You’re forgiven.”
“So are you,” Fate weakly replied.
“I’ll see you on the other side, Fate-chan,” Nanoha weakly whispered, before capturing her lips into one final kiss.
Meep...so sad. But very good.

“Ano Nanoha…”
“Yes Fate-chan.”
“The reason Hayate gave us such a large bed was so we wouldn’t have to cling to each other.”
“But I’m cold~”
“That’s what blankets are for.”
“Mou~ I want Fate-chan to be my blanket. Does Fate-chan not want to be my blanket?”
“Do you normally strangle your blankets?”
“It’s a love strangle.”
“That’s an oxymoron.”
“Just for that I’m not letting go.”
“Fine…” Silence.
“Hey Fate-chan.” Broken.
A sigh. “Yes Nanoha?”
“Hold me?”
“Maybe.”
“Fate-chan!”
Shuffle. “There that better?”
“Much.” Snuggle. Peace.
Peace over. “Keep your hands on my back.”
“You’re no fun…”
“I’m trying to sleep.”
“And I’m trying to help.”
“By groping me.” Disbelief.
“A… massage.” Complete lie.
“Go to sleep Nanoha.”
“But Fate-chan~”
Kiss. “Goodnight Nanoha.”
Defeat. “Goodnight Fate-chan.”
Lol! Too bad she was defeated.

--------
Fate sighed. “No, Arisa, for the fifth time, I am not going to disguise myself as a maid and 'infiltrate' Hayate's house.”
Her friend huffed angrily. “If you don’t, how are we supposed to figure out what happens when we’re not around!”
“We could always ask-”
“You’re too naïve, Suzuka. They’ll most likely guard their secrets to the death, which is why we must force the words out of them! With stealth!”
Fate repressed the urge to groan while Nanoha looked on, blue eyes sparkling with amusement. Unfortunately for her, the small sigh she let out as compensation was enough to draw Arisa’s attention back to her.
“Fate-san…”
The honorific was only added in times of stern lecture, and knowing this, she despaired.
“You’re friends with that tall, imposing member of Hayate’s harem, right?”
“Signum is not- Hayate doesn’t have a-” She trailed off under Arisa’s raised eyebrow. “Yes, I am.”
The manic glint in Arisa’s eyes was doing nothing to alleviate her unease. Half a minute passed in wary silence, during which time she looked to Nanoha and Suzuka for help and was met with a wink and a half-shake of the head, respectively.
Traitors.
Suddenly, the not-calm was broken by Arisa’s excited voice. “I’ve got it! My brilliant master plan destined to reveal all!” She paused, then: “Fate!”
The girl in question flinched, already knowing it was too late to run. “Yes…?”
“You’re going to invite Signum to the park for lunch.”
I am…?
As if reading her thoughts, Arisa nodded. “And then you’re going to grill her. Subtly.”
Grill…Signum… ‘Excuse me, but if there any truth to you and the others secretly being Hayate’s harem?’
Fate flinched, shocked into silence by this new, Herculean task.
“Nanoha!”
“Y-Yes?”
The girl was looking to her for help now, but she simply smirked and raised an eyebrow.
Karma, Nanoha. Karma.
“You’re going to set up a surveillance system in the bushes.”
“I- um, that-”
“Good. Suzuka, you’re with me. We’re getting camouflage gear.”
Fate watched in stunned silence as Suzuka was dragged off, giving her and Nanoha a last, apologetic glance before disappearing around the corner. Too winded to begin contemplating why Arisa and Suzuka would have camouflage gear in the first place, she swayed on her feet for a moment before feeling Nanoha’s hand envelop hers. Looking up, she met wonderful, impish blue that was almost enough to make her forget the problems ahead. Almost.
“It’s not so bad, right, Fate-chan?”
“…I suppose.”
“Nyahaha… It could be worse?”
Fate was about to ask how, but suddenly a vision of having to ‘subtly grill’ Vita flashed through her mind.
“…You’re right, Nanoha. It could be worse.”
Gripping the other girl’s hand more tightly before releasing it, she resolved to call Signum and get this over with.
Let the operation begin.
I have a feeling this might end badly. Especially Fate trying to interrogate Signum.

Both were panting heavily, the duel going on far longer than either expected, yet neither wanting to give in.
Blonde tresses whipped violently in the wind, a look of determination still upon her face. No words had been exchanged since the fight began, yet suddenly the opponent speaks.
“What’s wrong Testarossa?”
Signum has known all along that in the beginning, their duels were for pride and honour, but in more recent times, Fate used them as a way for venting stress. Signum knew something was wrong, it was whether Fate would tell her or not.
Fate mulled over the question, debating whether she should speak about her current dilemma. In fact, there was no problem, the problem was solved, it just had not come to the resolution that she had hoped for. She was sad, she was angry, she was embarrassed, but above all, she felt lost. She responded to the question.
“Bardiche, load cartridge!”
Signum sighed, it was going to be one of those duels, in response Levantine was readily equipped to receive the attack.
Fate rushed forward, the glowing scythe evaporating all the water that hit its form. Another crack of thunder as the two warriors continued their fight. Signum made block after block, countering after each and still a stalemate was the outcome.
Testarossa looked desperate to her, like a puppy that had lost its way, trying to forget everything by losing herself in the moment. She wanted to help, but she needed Fate to talk to her!
“Levantine!” a look of seriousness crossed Signum’s face; she needed to put an end to this. Her intelligent devices voice cut the through the silence. “Explosion!”
The blade burst forth into flames taking Fate by surprise, her wits and mind slowed by the torrent of emotions flowing through her head. Signum pushed harder forcing Fate onto the defensive.
“Tell me what’s wrong Testarossa!” Signum yelled over the thunder crashing around her.
“You wouldn’t understand!” Fate yelled in reply, pushing with her might against Signum’s attack.
“I won’t if you don’t tell me!” Signum pushed harder and Fate was rocketed into the ground below her.
Signum descended to the crater created by the Aces not so slow descent. Levantine poised at her side. Fate looked up at her, tears not so indiscreetly falling down her cheeks, somewhat hidden by the rain.
Signum’s piercing blue eyes turned softer, as if pleading for Fate to open up. Fates mouth was ready to respond with some reply before catching the gaze of her rival.
She broke.
Tears racked her body as she threw herself at Signum. Bardiche hung at her side. Signum was stunned to say the least. With a small amount of hesitation she returned Levantine and gently embraced Fate.
Signum’s voice was no more than a whisper, “What's wrong?”
The tears started to subside; reducing down to a choked sob before Fate slowly looked into the eyes of her comforter. Soft blue met teary red.
“I was rejected”
Signum was confused at first, rejected by what, a position, a person?
“I confessed to Nanoha that I wanted to be more than just friends, she ran from me”
Realisation started to dawn on the velka knight just what had happened, she tightened her grip on her.
“When we eventually talked, she said she didn’t see me that way and that she was sorry….I-..I..couldn’t handle it, I had to get away…”
Fate looked away dejectedly, and Signum was at a loss for what to say.
She slowly moved her hand to Fates chin and lifted her gaze to meet hers.
“It hurts now Testarossa, but if Nanoha could not like you the way you liked her it would have only lead to more pain than you feel now”
Fate nodded solemnly, it was hard to digest now, everything was a mess, how would she do missions? How would she deal with section 6? What possessed her to do such a thing?
Signum surprised herself and Fate by drawing her into a deeper hug, one she did not know she could give. Fate found herself comforted by this warm embrace despite the freezing cold surrounding them.
Signum’s thoughts were in a maelstrom as she hugged the lightning mage. She had had suspicions that Fate liked Nanoha, but had not delved into business she was not concerned with. But more than that, she was confused, why did she feel so safe in Fate’s embrace, what was the sense of relief when Fate said she was rejected by Nanoha?...... she couldn’t be? Could she? No it’s not possible guardians of the tome of the night sky are meant to protect their master, nothing else. Yet, what was this warm fuzzy feeling that felt nothing like any other she feels inside her?
She would not think on this too much, now was not the time, Fate needed support, and above all a warm place, they were soaked to the bone.
“We should get you out of the rain Testarossa, you will make yourself ill and were both exhausted”
Fate nodded once more, missing the feeling of being in Signum’s embrace, she had not felt that safe since……. A slight realization hit Fate, as she gasped slightly, causing Signum to look at her with a questioning gaze. Fate returned the gaze, albeit shyly.
“Can I erm, stay with you tonight? ……” Fate looked down at her shoe, scuffing one into the dirt. “I’d rather not go back to ….”
Fate didn’t have to finish, before she could react Signum had picked Fate up in her arms and leapt into the sky, her pink aura flashing wildly in the darkness.
Fate could only hold on to Signum, trying desperately not to grope her during the flight as she did not know where to hold on. Her cheeks coloured slightly as she was faced with an eyeful of Signum's, healthy bust, to say the least.
She got comfortable, enjoying the feeling of being held for a change, awaiting her destination.
Fatenum ftw! Though I don't really like calling it Fatenum. It sounds weird to me.
@Lurkers Newcomers!!!! Welcome! Even though this is a bit late. There's a lot of you recently.
@Thread 9 pages of backlog and so much fan fiction in less than 24 hours, the thread is exploding with action! If I didn't comment on your story I'm sorry. I did read all of them. And they were all AWESOME!
Fatenum ftw! Though I don't really like calling it Fatenum. It sounds weird to me.
If you can come up with a better name, I'll latch on to it eagerly. I think Fatenum sort of stuck...but someone told me it sounded like a kind of snack... XD;;
Raphael is being mean again. >_<! I was just starting to like him too. I can't believe they were going to banish her! She's awesome and will definitely beat the Mace of Doom...I hope!

A snack? Lol well I can understand why people call it Fatenum. I mean Sigate doesn't work too well. ^^; though it's fun to say. Hmm what else...Fignum! Oh wow that was bad. It reminds me of Fig Newtons. What other horrible names can I give this pairing! I need to go find my name blender. I think I'll just say FatexSignum.
...Fignum is way too catchy not to use. I'm casting my vote that way. It's right up there with Shagnum (for which I blame Seravy).
Shagnum?!? *laughing maniacally in a large empty house* Oh I got a horrible one and its mean. Fagnum...wow I cannot believe I came with that. *bashes self with a telephone pole* Lets make a better one. Though I'm sure anything can be better than that. Ff you take the first two letters of Signum and the last two letters of Fate you get Site. I'm bad at this.
A.) Nanoha
B.) Fate
I wonder why Yunno doesnt want Fate to turn Nanoha, could it be that he's working on a cure?

Cheer up guys. It's not too depressing. I mean anything's better than Fatnum. Which sounds horribly like an evil Disney creature character. or something. Or even Signate or the worst of them all Fagnum from which lots of negative connotations would be derived (and which sounds like the word can be found only in 4chan).

A.) Nanoha

I vote for A

A.) Nanoha
B.) Fate

So yeah, I actually had a nightmare about writing fanfics. It was weird too. can't remember much of it, but it was like....weird. Enough to wake me up and make me get out of bed to clear my head. Well that was a second nightmare. Two in one night, wtf?
So now I'm awake at 4 AM with a horrible sore throat and feeling a little sick witha ehadache but can't go back to sleep. What a great night >.<

Life is a thing most of us take for granted. Until we lose someone that we charish, are we forced to realize that things will never always be the same.
...I leave for thirty minutes and Fatenum happens. Just my luck. *huffs* Hello, new person~! You're my hero! *melts* Your first fic? Really? Those words can bring horror to the bravest of hearts, but I actually...really enjoyed that. You've got a few typos here and there, but it's nothing huge and/or marring. Tho' I'm not too sure how I feel about Nanoha rejecting her as a plot device, it still gave me the warm fuzzies. Er...the hints at posible Fatenum, not the rejection. But it was good. update now? *shot*
Yeah, the Nanoha rejection thing was an off the cuff idea. Being Fate/Nanoha all the way, i was trying to work out how i could actually make it semi-realistic. It was more brief than i would have liked and it was hard trying to pin Signum down as not being OOC. *starts contemplating fluffy second chapter*

Yayy for new pairing fic!
“We should get you out of the rain Testarossa, you will make yourself ill and were both exhausted”

Nice start. Very easy to read. I can see this happening. You should continue it. It was good, although Fate blushing and having strange feelings that quickly for Signum seems.. too quick? too fast? Fate just got rejected.. and Signum was just only a friend to her (before that moment).. or is that just me.. It would be good if their relationship is developed further before inevitably going into the romance route. But I hope you continue it. (It will make Enraptured foam at the mouth with uber happiness. ) *hides from Enraptured and hopes she won't read this part of the post*
edit: darn it, I forgot to welcome you *smacks forehead* Welcome to the thread!!
Hehe, thanks, I see what you mean about it moving too quickly, i think i maybe rushed a little bit at the end, i didnt really plan where i was going to finish it. My initial plan was make it *gasps* dramatic and have like Signum already harboring feelings for Fate, then having her pinning Fate down in the fight saying she cares. But as i wrote i kinda got lead off the path.
As for Fate blushing, that was more for having Signums cleavage in her faace! Although i probably rushed the feelings part so i put my hands up there.

“Erio what is it?” Fate patted the top of her son’s head.
Erio’s face was as red as his hair. He was fidgeting badly, his hands were twitching around the small camera in his hands, an out of date piece of equipment. “W-well I um…”
“Ah Erio,” Nanoha popped up from behind him. “What’s this trying to get your mother to let you take a picture?” She smiled playfully, “I’m warning you she hates pictures with a passion.”
Fate blushed, looking at her feet, “That’s not true.”
Erio turned even redder, any more and he’d soon collapse. “I-I-I.”
“You what?” Nanoha moved to stand by Fate, looping their arms together.
Erio shook violently, “Well you see I need…”
Fate looked concerned, maybe he needed to see Shamal, “Erio if you need anything just ask.”
Erio gulped. Then he sucked up the little strands of courage he had left, “WOULD YOU TWO PLEASE MAKE OUT SO I COULD TAKE A PICTURE?”
Nanoha’s fist tightened and Fate looked like she was about to faint.
“Erio. Who put you up to this?
Not so far away.
“Do you think he did it?” Griffith kept looking at the door. Erio had been gone a while. “I mean that kind of mission has to be dangerous.”
Vice shrugged and knocked back another beer from their clubhouses complimentary bar. “Meh. We all have the scars from our initiation.”
Griffith shivered. “T-true.”
“Besides he should be proud that the boss tasked him with the important task of finding disreputable proof that Fate and Nanoha are doing it.”
Zafira rubbed his chin and leaned back in the chair he was sitting in. “But he is just a boy.”
“Yeah I don’t why our leader wouldn’t let him get a picture of Vita fangirling over Nanoha,” Yuuno looked very serious off in the corner.
Chrono shrugged from the couch. “That’s true. Vice got off much easier. Simply getting a picture of Tea and Subaru being loovydoovy they act like they want people to know.”
Vice frowned, “Griffith got off easier. All he had to do was get a picture of Signum and Shamal, the two are freakin’ Rabbits.”
Griffith covered his mouth with his hand obviously remembering something very very bad.
Verossa forced Chrono to sit up so he could sit down too. “I had it hardest. A picture of Rein and Agito. Honestly, I don’t even work here.” He sighed. “Luckily I caught them coming out of an air vent but really.”
Erio burst through their secret clubhouse’s door.
“Did you get it?” They all looked like excited school boys with dirty magazines.
Erio tried to catch his breath. “…run…”
Yuuno furrowed his brow, “What?”
“…run…”
Vice tilted his head to the side, “What the hell are you talking about?”
He sucked in air, “RUN YOU IDIOTS!”
“Huh.”
Their wall was then kicked in, revealing the two furious mages behind it.
“Yuuno!” Nanoha was in position to Starlight Breaker them to Never Neverland
“Onii-san!” Fate had Baridiche out in duel Zamber mode and looked ready to lop off some heads.
“RETREAT!” They all scrambled for the one solitary window in the opposite wall of their tree house.
“STARLIGHT!” Too late. “BREAKER!”
Later.
“Oh dear,” Hayate stepped around the smoking bodies of the members of a certain fanclub. “It seems I was too late.”
“B-boss,” Chrono reached out for Hayate only to then faint.
Nanoha shook her head among the carnage. “That was too close Hayate.”
Fate agreed, “What were you thinking?”
Hayate grinned. “But I got a bunch of pictures.”
“Shesh. But they almost caught on.”
Hayate waved her off. “Don’t be silly, no one suspects the TSAB is all a front for my Grand Lesbian Army.”
And they all lived happily ever after in Hayate’s Lesbian Army. Except for the guys who all got complimentary bus rides.
Hehe, awesome. The Lesbian army must continue!! when i first read the title i thought, "hmm, is Erio going to be blackmailed into becoming a bishi for Vivio, Lutecia and Caro??" but i was not disappointed! poor Erio.
