Nao has interesting taste in winter clothing. While I will admit these monologue episodes have been rather similar in story content and episode structure, I've still really enjoyed them. A last chance to get to know the characters before the endgame is always appreciated, and it shows that they have changed a bit since that time. In Miyuki's case, since childhood. The girl in the mirror was more than likely an imaginary friend, but perhaps she was Madoka, guiding Miyuki towards becoming a magical girl for the greater good. ...yes, I did just get back from seeing the Madoka movies.

Miyuki's super fight wasn't as visually impressive as Reika's or emotional as Nao's, but Happy Shower Shining was still pretty cool. Though it's obvious Toei's skimping a bit in that they've started repainting MotW designs. I hope this is the last we see of (Royal) Rainbow Burst, because that's probably my biggest gripe with the series. I'll air everything once we make it out of endgame, though. If there's one thing Precure knows how to do, it's how to make it showy for the finale. Seeing the generals go feral, but even moreso, looks exciting. Having a giant spiked clown ball approaching the Earth is rarely good.

That will wait until the New Year. This episode wasn't particularly Christmasy, but it was exactly as Christmasy as it needed to be. Isn't the reason for the season Madoka being happy, after all?

+ The fight sequence - Really impressive stuff this time and among my favorite fights of the show.
- The drama... I totally didn't buy it, and not once did they bring up that they have a portal to go anywhere at any time.

Sadly I didn't have enough time to check this out, My friends Recommended this to me so I still have to watch Episode 1.
But I have the whole day free on the 31 December so I can check a few Episodes out.

I'm watching Aikatsu! as well, is it like Aikatsu or is it a bit like Sailor moon-ish?

Sailor Moonish. Most Precure series have some element of that in their DNA, especially since Toei animated both. Though if Smile is for you, or another series might be, is entirely of your own discretion. In a franchise of this length, which series is considered the best has no one clear answer.

Really, this should have come much earlier in the show, as should have the past five character development and new attack episodes.

Spoiler for Wilhelm Grimm's Magical Girls 45: JESUS: Farewell, Status Quo:

So after coming back from the break, we jump right into the weirdness. No establishing of what Miyuki and friends are doing, just that the endgame is here and they're not going to have time to wait around. So Candy is the Miracle Jewel (which was kind of obvious) and the Bad End trio were fairies who, in a rather Wreck it Ralph way, just wanted to prove that just because they're bad guys doesn't mean they're bad guys. And Enter Joker, in service to his majesty Messiah Pierrot, enlisted them. Joker's been the real villain here.

The fight scenes were exciting as always, and though it was still kinda stock footagey, it was kept exciting. But then Miyuki went and turned herself into Ultimate Madoka. Not quite with the "taking them to Vallhalla" part (this is a kids' show, after all), but she stopped them from becoming Witches (kinda) but close enough. I can't wait to see what pixiv does with this.

Doki Doki's preview was fun, but that can be discussed in its own thread. The preview for New Stage 2, unfortunately, I read differently. My perception of Precure has been permanently altered thanks to a fic called Dissonance. The future of the Cures there is now my personal headcanon, so all I see in the All Stars movies is a portent of fights to come. A fanfic is in no way canon, but it's my headcanon, and that counts for something. Maybe. Look, I already went through this with K-ON!.

Anyway, next week is the Bad End Cures. I can't wait to see Evil Yayoi. Now that version of Yayoi is more like Katyusha. Not like this is the first time Chinami Nishimura has played an evil Cure either.

Terrible episode.

Aside the quality taking a critical hit, they reused with "minor villains" the same idea that was used in Suite with Noise: "ah but they're not really bad"... But it doesn't work. There was minimal foreshadowing in the "single" episodes, but not enough to justify this mess. If you want to do a "villain turned good" arc, the way to go is similar to Eas/Setsuna in Fresh (granted she was a major character, but the idea still stands).
Bad End Precures look interesting, but they've been introduced too late. Probably the worst episode of Smile IMO.

Surprised on the turn of events. The three villains are actually fairies who became bad, because of the prejudice against them. Cheesy scene, but I nearly cried watching when Miyuki was holding them. You can't have a happy ending in the picture book, without villains to defeat. !

Evil version of precure. This is one surprise.. I've only seen evil versions of precure in a movie. Would be interesting how this goes.

Ah, good. The Bad End Generals' reason for wanting the world to end was exactly what I thought...
I grew up with all the uncensored fairy tails, were people chop up thier own feet, are burned alive and get thier stomachs cut open. When I remebered that I couldn't blame them, seeing all the horrible deaths the evil guys in fairy tails have to suffer.

The real bad part this week was the animation... I so hope they just saved money to blow it out on the last episodes.

And we have some new Dark Precure 5. I admit I love the Dark Precures of all the series so far. To bad they won't be around for long. My guess is only 1 episode.
