Here's an infodump about it and also misc info:

Spoiler for infodump:

1.Thanks to Red Rider's last words being passed on to her Niko is not intimidated by the pressure of the other Kings and successfully proposes that the Kings unite to destroy the ARS.(Radio was shocked by the fact that Rain's idea was approved by the other kings in this volume)
2.the result of the summit:ISS Kit Core's destruction was confirmed to the other kings and a joint operation by Scarlet Rain was successfully approved by the other kings.on the other hand OU was not exsposed as the ARS because Ivory Tower kept denying it to the point it wouldn't go anywhere.
3.after graduating from grade school Niko plans to enroll in Haru's school after it was suggested by Pard and going around the culture festival.(so Niko wants to get closer to her onii-chan huh,good luck with that Niko)
before Haru went to school he was challenged by Chocolate Puppeteer to duel(who,by the way was also about to go to school with Plum and Mint.also Puppeteer 4.leveled up from 4 to 5) with Bell,Mint and Plum watching from the Gallery.they wanted to tell them both that they want to join NN in this Duel but unfortunately for them Haru was addicted to Puppeteer's chocolate so Puppeteer ended up trying to fend off Crow from licking her.
5.NN holded a meeting where Metatron is introduced and Petit Paquet requests permission to join NN,however there are 2 problems:1.dividing the amount of members for Territory Battles 2.if the 3 members join NN they have to disband Petit Paquet.
Though thanks to Chiyu who convinced KYH,and Metatron who calls KYH out on her reluctance,the 3 members joined NN.
6.Scissors did not appear in this volume instead she is being talked about by Haru to Olive Grab and Bush Utan as to whether Utan and Olive hates her for giving him the ISS Kit.their answer is that they don't hate Scissors since the ones who wanted the Kit and betrayed their friends were them,all Scissor wanted was to help the weaker Burst Linkers to stand a chance against the stronger ones who dominated the weaker ones even though her way of doing it is wrong.
7.after the ISS Kit Core and the Kits deactivated by Rider.Olive Grab,ashamed of the fact that he PK camped Ash Roller and Bush Utan,cuts off contact with Great Wall.after Ash Roller heard about this he took it upon himself to find Olive Grab and bring him back to Great Wall and also to forgive him for PK Camping him and Utan.after 10 days of searching he finally found and forgiven Olive Grab and convinced him to go back to Great Wall.
8.Ash has become a surrogate older brother to Grab after forgiving him,Ash along with Utan and Grab has formed a team named the Rough Valley Rollers.
9.Haru and Taku has advanced to Level 6 in this volume,but Haru didn't choose an upgrade yet(mainly because he got tempted by the other abillities,but he decided to think about what to choose later),the upgrades were:
1.Digit Pursuit
2.Bullet Proof
3.Lucid Blade
4.and of course the usual upgrade his Aviation abillity.
now here's the misc info:
-the name of the all girls school that White Cosmos attends is named Eterna Women's College.
-White Cosmos's lieutenants are titled the Seven Dwarfs that are named after the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.
-the members of the Six Layered Armor are:
1.First Seat:Graphite Edge(he's not the original first seat,apparently the first seat was vacant for long time,what happened to the original first seat is unknown)
2.Second Seat:Viridian Decurion who also holds the position of Great Wall's Sub-Master (second in-command) also Pound nicknames him Viri but he is forbidden from calling him that or else Decurion will call him Anpan.
3.Third Seat:Iron Pound.
4.Fourth Seat:Lignum Vitae(a Female Duel Avatar that wears a cocktail dress)
5.Fifth Seat:Suntan Schaefer(Duel Avatar that looks like a scarab,is a female even though it's hard to tell due to her armored body.)
6.Sixth Seat:Unknown.(apparently he/she weren't invited to the Global Net Duel or it's also vacant like the first seat,who knows.)
Also at the NN-GW meeting at the end of the volume the only Great Wall members that were invited into the duel were Grandee,Viridian,Pound,Vitae,Schaefer,Ash and Edge.
-The reason why Graphite Edge defected to Great Wall is unknown.(it's also not confirmed as to whether escaped/rescued from Genbu or not)
-the only ones who knew that Graphite Edge has joined Great Wall prior to the reveal were Grandee and Decurion,Pound and other Six Armors isn't aware of this.
-also apparently he came to Grandee and Decurion himself to defect to Great Wall and if i'm reading this right he defeated Decurion and tied with Grandee(though then again 6th CD also tied with Grandee even though Grandee considered it Crow's win so it's not like he was the first to do this).Great Wall values strength so after that they couldn't refuse recruiting him.
-The Levels of Decurion,Vitae and Schaefer were never told.
-Ash developed a new skill named JackKnife Guillotine.

Well that's the important details,well everyone read it to your heart's content and please don't go out of control on the powerlevel debates.

I picked up V17's LN on a short trip to Taiwan, and my only comment is, well, Reki is a strange man, to say the least.

If anyone wasn't smart enough to see that he can't plan his plot, then the inclusion of Black Twin Swords in V17 just smacks of ... I mean, I get that Graphite Edge is going to become a main character in the next volume. He's been mentioned all the way back since V6 when they were discussing the escape plans. He's important enough that BTS had to be written about him. But if you were going to push it out, why bundle it into the Blu-Ray volumes in the first place?

If I had bought the Blu-Rays for the purpose of the side story, I'd feel cheated. I dropped my money on something that would appear anyway. Reki's sending contradictory signals by signalling Edge to be just a side character, unlikely to be mentioned again, and then going back on his earlier plans and reintroducing him as an important character.

And then he did it by slapping BTS verbatim into the back of V17. I don't need to know about Haruyuki's Level 2 struggles if he's already at Level 5, kicking ass with IS skills, and lining up for the final fight! We just need to know the significance of Graphite Edge if we didn't already know!

Reki's admission that he doesn't plan ahead at the Con, fortunately, is a tacit apology for all the mess that he dreamed up since Volume 6, when the ISS kit arc started. It doesn't make his wrongs right, but it sure as hell means that he'd better be working to finish AW asap.

I don't care about seeing Haruyuki get to Level 10 anymore. I just want the loose ends to be wrapped up: White Cosmos and her circle of 'researchers,' Metatron going back to whatever waifu dream she came from, and the Seven Kings coming to some sort of agreement to clear the Imperial Palace. Oh wait, a King is merely human and is nothing compared to a God, right? Sorry, looks like we'll have to throw in more Kings! Let's start another DA design competition and choose the most decent idea out of a pile of Wolfram Tungstens! And while we're at it, let's go ahead and link up one massive overhyped work with AW for some WTF and controversy: just who placed The Fluctuating Light there and why?

Tldr; Reki opened up too many arcs too fast.

I just hope that AW concludes fast.

You mean Haruyuki's relationships? Well, I can agree that the relation developments in AW are slightly better written than SAO, though it's still harem bait and Haru has like double the number of Kirito's girls in his harem


@ plot/character development: I gave up on the setting when it turned out dessert avatars aren't just one-off gags, and they are retconned into existence with stuff like choco puppeteer, when originally it's only colours or metallic avatars. Kawahara seems to be throwing out all pretences of treating this as a serious story first and foremost, and made the gags and light-hearted stuff the mainstay All that old stuff about Imperial Palace and Chrome Disaster seem out of place now, and barring the bit with Red Rider at the core I haven't really felt the story was Epic like it used to be.

The specific standard isn't very important. The point is that the dessert avatars are still color avatars. Nothing was retconned to make them exist.

*shrug* Guess I just focused too much on desserts like it's a actual subsection like how metallic avatars are different to normal ones. There was that Vanilla avatar in one of the AW spinoff mangas as well.

Been a while since I last came here, seems a little empty as of late.

Just a few pieces of information to add to the vol 17 info dump from before

- Viridian Decurion's nickname is Viri, which is pronounced as Biri or Billy (there's no v sound in Japanese). The name most commonly associated with Billy is Billy Herrington, famous American AV actor. He is also known in Japan as Aniki/BigBro (兄貴) and Forest Fairy (森の妖精). There's a very good reason why Viridian Decurion doesn't want to be called Viri.

- The lieutenants of White Cosmos, the Seven Dwarves can also be related to dwarf stars instead of Snow White. We won't know which until later.
