So it is the main Prodo I.G. eh? Well hopefully they'll be able to balance the budget for both this and Robotic Notes. New character designs are pretty interesting one of the characters looks a lot like Mukuro and the heroine seems like an odd hybrid of Kyoko and Haru's designs(not too sure how to feel about that one...) so there's some definite Reborn influence in there...really looking forward to this.

I'm still fairly certain that Wit Studio is going to end up doing the heavy lifting for this. Production IG is probably credited because they're the big name (and the project definitely started there) and IG Port owns everything anything. We'll know for sure when they announce the people animating it.

I have a feeling that this show is going to be really enjoyable unless the staff drop the ball on it. The cast comments and character descriptions so far reinforce the fact that this is a serious sci-fi police drama. The dynamics could be really interesting if they're done well.
Both lead characters revealed so far work for the Public Safety Bureau, but they're not partners working in the same department. Shinya is an enforcer in the criminal investigation department. The enforcers are the detectives who do the field work. Akane on the other hand is a rookie monitoring officer in the bureau. The monitoring officers are assigned to watch over enforcers. It's a pretty typical set up for this sort of show, but it's so rare in anime these days. It seems likely that Shinya is going to "betray" the government organization at some point, and Akane will have to decide if she wants to call him in as a rogue or to trust in him because they have a bond. That's just an educated guess, but even if the relationship is predictable, I like these kind of stories. |
