The song at the end? That's called 'Atem' by Kukui. I don't know if it's on any of the OSTs, but it's on the Rozen Maiden Traumend ED Single.

So, I broke down and watched the raw. I was surprised by how much I could understand simply out of prior knowledge and context (I've never taken a single Japanese class, unfortunately).

Spoiler: After such a long wait, finally seeing more of Rozen Maiden the anime is a really wonderful feeling. Also, the dolls are as they were, before Bara made her premiere; tho Bara is also seen with Enju in one scene (blitz1/2 you must have prayed very hard!). Seeing Suiseiseki in her tsundere moments was . Even so for HinaIchigo. This episode seems to have devoted alot of time to the current situation of the dolls (i.e. present time after S1 and before S2); in fact more than Gin's history. Tho from the events in "Jun-time" it leads into the history of Shinku, and later, her first meeting with Suigintou. (When Suigintou says her name for the first time it was quite sad). So far, I think it has not explored much about the origin of Gin, except letting us in on one major spoiler with regards to her creation. Thus, it leaves, quite intentionally I must add, more questions than answers. Then again, I'm sure that at the end of this OVA, even more questions will be left than answers; and hopefully, all signs will point to a season 3. The ED. Altho sung by kukui, do not expect anything like Hikari no Rasenritsu. It’s very different, that apart, I think it is very very nice. It captures the foreboding feeling of Gin’s story-to-come. I hope the single gets out soon. I didnt much like the ED sequence/scenes tho, as BonBon said its very westernised, tho I think that it might very well have been drawn by our master-artist, HinaIchigo. Okay, not that bad. Spoiler: I guess I never surmised beforehand that the "present time" parts of the episode would be during Traumend's timeline, therefore not forwarding the overall storyline yet still letting us see all the dolls we know. Souseiseki and Shinku fighting around Big Ben was awesome. I was surprised that Shinku would have such a young Medium, and her reaction to cats is priceless as always. Suigintou... Ah, my love. I never before thought that when they said that Rozen left her "unfinished," it meant more than just her torso being missing. He literally gave up on her (and rather quickly I might add) and went ahead to finish all the other dolls up to Kanaria (though she is never seen in Rozen's house). Suigintou loves her otou-sama. It'll be odd to see her interacting with Shinku, and I have a feeling that the brooch has something to do with their rivalry (it was a tea cup in my fanfiction, but maybe I was dead on!). There were a couple tracks that I didn't recognize, but they reminded me of the .hack//SIGN or Liminality soundtracks. The ED wasn't too catchy, and I really disliked the ED's background animation. From the moment the OP started I could tell the difference between the widescreen DVD version I know versus the pan-and-scan of a normal TV broadcast. Patiently waiting for part 2 tomorrow. Laplace no Ma appearing makes me nervous. __________________ I am bound to pay the debt I owe.

Spoiler: Even though I couldn't understand much, their actions and tones sort of gave me clues about what was going on. The scenes with SuiginTou were really moving. It seems to me like her body is almost completely incapable of moving, except for her face, neck, and her right arm. Her other arm remains limp, and her legs don't move either (after she somehow gets to them). I've never been a Shinku fan, and quite frankly, I'm starting to think I will never be. That scene at the end was really sad. The way Shinku pushes her away is kind of....ugh...I just didn't like how she can so easily push someone off like that when they're clearly in need. I mean SuiginTou fell right after she came out of the mirror, what harm could she do? Shinku just seemed so pompous. Not in the usual cute way, either. EDIT: (jezz, I keep doing that....) I HATE FATHER. Spoiler: When Shinku said SuiginTou was left unfinished, I didn't think it was so extreme..... Not only did he not give her a torso, he didn't give her anything underneath. He left her completely abandoned on a shelf, as she watched him complete everyone up to Shinku. HinaIchigo wasn't really seen in his house ( I think O.O) He didn't even turn to look at her as she feebly called for him.... I HATE HIM...... well, I can't wait 'till part two, and the subs. Especially the subs....

This is a good example of how a story can be different when viewed from another person's POV. Shinku certainly looks a bit unpleasant here (although still within reasonable limit) while the show completely symphatises with Suigintou's plight

Spoiler: you know the amount of torture that gin sama obtained from this ep only makes my love for her stronger ~ rozen you faggott! okey so not only does he not finnish gin sama but he also leave her there to watch the others get completed and shinku gets a special broach...how unfair is that!? Through Souseiseki, poor little Suigintou is introduced to the Alice Game. After some time, Gin remembers seeing Rozen favor Shinku by giving her that brooch. The two get into a quarrel which escalates, Gin steals her brooch... Laplace instigates things further... Meh, I dunno. If they get in a huge fight over an item from otou-sama (the brooch!), I'll be super ecstatic because that's how I imagined this was the reason for their hatred in my fanfic. __________________ I am bound to pay the debt I owe.
