No, it's Allelujah who isn't the pilot that he used to be. After his performance this season, i'm not surprised he's been shot down in a future episode.

The Gundams have lost their metaphorical "teeth." They don't dominate as much as they did compared to last season (for various reasons like the enemy is stronger now). Now, if that's good or bad, I'll leave that up to you to decide. HOWEVER, if we have Gundams and their pilots getting shot down this early, how is Allelujuah or any other Gundam Meister supposed to legitimately make to the final episode?

I haven't even seen Arios in serious action yet (just a few skirmishes), and they are already shooting it down? It sets a bad precedent.

It does not say the Arios is permanently out of action, I see it more as a one more chance for Soma and Al to meet and perhaps plant a few more doubts in her.

And Al lost his edge against Soma now that he does not have his quantum brain waves and it is apparent that Soma has the advantage over him right now.

Allelujah has been held captured for 4 years. Without getting to improve his skills and without quantum brain waves, it's not surprising he gets shot down. He said it himself that it wasn't Arios' fault but rather his skills when he got hit by Soma in episode 4.

I'd rather see some good battles in this series rather then complete domination from the Gundams for most of the season. We've seen them dominate in the past, i don't see why that has to happen again --- especially seeing the circumstances that CB are in at the moment, and how many great pilots they're up against. Complete domination is out of the question if you ask me.

Allelujah is going to grow as a pilot, that i am expecting very much or they wouldn't have made clear as early as they did that he is lacking in skills because of losing his other half.

Let's face it, the protagonists in Gundam 00 are pretty darn good pilots.

Folks like Mr. Bushido, Ali and Soma aren't your average A.U. grunts.

This won't be the first time that the antagonist(s) is a better pilot, think Gato and Kou.

Call me crazy, but this is the best Gundam series ever tied with Gundam Wing, .

I haven't seen the older gundams, started with Seed and then Destiny. Even when i watched Seed, it didn't grasp me as much as Gundam 00. Seed and Destiny was just for fun to past time and cause my friend made me. Sure i liked Seed but...IDK >.< It just doesn't struck me as hard as Gundam 00 in a way.

It just had to be released then, and because of Christmas it'll be almost impossible to have it delivered at the right time.

Brilliant news though. Shall be preordering soon.

Encounters like the one's mentioned for episode 07 have been happening since the original Gundam, so it's nothing special. Going by the spoiler, it sounds like the two will have to work together, meaning that a stronger bond will be created between the two. Interesting.
Your statement has huge hypocrisy in it. I'll give you a hint how to fix it, the word Interesting is replaced by Boring.

Plot armor. Just like most of those who will survive in CB.

Yeah, too bad only Setsuna can put up a good fight with his Jesus rainbow making Gundam. That and the series isn't exactly keen on action driven action but rather story driven action. You set up Bushido versus Ali in the games, not the anime

Or the return of Hal. Face it, NONE of them grew by much.

Soma is your average named grunt with plot armor. Like Yzak or something. The other two are destined to die or get fubared some other way. Nvm Bushido is already fubared in one way or more.

You guys really shouldn't be looking at CB from that scale. To compare them to name less grunts is like saying the show should be realistic to the point where some GN-X3 no name can actually land a hit on a meister. That just doesn't happen in today's anime people. Nameless grunts are nameless for a reason, they aren't PEOPLE, they are just THERE to DIE.

Just think of it like one big dota game replay. You can't tell me those damn trees and ghouls are worth comparing to, cause even the SHITTIEST hero can beat the crap out of those.

It's pretty much set in stone that the protagonist is almost NEVER cooler than the antagonist, person and suit. Amuro Ray loses to Char, Heero loses to Zechs, Garrod loses to everyone, Jesus Yamato doesn't count.

the reason the first season gundams ruled like gods is because 99% of the mobile suits in the world were obsolete, under powered, under gunned. frankly i like my protagonist to be taken down a notch every couple of episodes.

Well Amuro does beat Char, despite finding it difficult initially. But Char was still cooler

But cooler may not = better though.

No kidding, where else in Gundam do you see a lone grunt survive near-deaths the way he did?

All other pilots who experience near-death scenarios mostly survive thru either;
- A stray beam from out-of-nowhere appears, saving the one at mercy from his/her enemy.
- A random mech flies into the line of fire and takes the shot meant for the one at mercy.

Patrick survived all his near-deaths with nothing but himself... and truckloads of luck.

Just for the fun of it, Patrick's survival scenarios;
- Having his MS diced by Exia, save for the cockpit.
- Fried by a missed bazooka shot from Virtue.
- Having the bottom half of his Enact blasted by Throne Eins.
- Feigning death from Virtue thanks to a random rock which beheaded his GN-X.
- Having the top half of his GN-X kaboomed by Nadleeh.

For some reason, when his GN-X was shot by Nadleeh, I find his "Eh..?" somewhat significant...
