Edit: Found this on the Kuro lj comm, it was written by Yana Toboso right after the first epi of the season aired, kinda explains where the idea of Claude and Alois came from. No spoilers for upcoming events, just some mild hinting. Its a good read.

1. Ciel is indeed voiced by Sakamoto Maaya, so no worries.
2. They completely changed the animation of the opening.

I liked the visuals of the previous OP better, but this new opening is still pretty good, with some nice foreshadowing. Alois and Claude are definitely going to be the main villains.

^hah I am impressed that they actually went ahead and changed the OP...

Without spoiling me, can you tell me if there's any good "plot" development? Or if it's just an introduction of the old characters and some trivial interactions? (meaning the preview made ep 2 look like it was going to be "too much" elizabeth)

I didn't think they were going to change the OP either, since the first one looked so good.

I'm not sure what's happening right now. I think Ciel is in some kind of dream world, since he and the other characters don't seem to remember anything about the later events of the last season. I'll edit my post when the episode finishes (if no one posts in between).

Well, I'm still not sure what is up exactly with this episode. It felt like watching an episode of the first half of season 1. I kept expecting something to happen... but nothing.

Grell is in the next episode already!
The undertaker is also in the preview. Still no sign of Alois and Claude.

I dont think so, based on what the mangaka wrote in her journal I think Alois and Claude will be back but for right now the anime will focus on Ciel and Sebby. I havent watched the epi but if Ciel was just kinda reawakened from the dead he might be in dream world right now

Just saw the first episode on Funi's website and why did no one mention the Claude enjoys tap dancing on banisters? Totally cracked me up and I was willing to give Alois a chance but yep, I don't like him either, guess that puts me in camp Ciel.

Makes sense that they would do that because of the fan backlash. I have kind of lost my interest in the show though, if they are refocusing on Ciel and Sebastian. Since I have the manga, but I am going to stick around anyway.

I am looking forward to the Ciel specials the most though.

Yeah, after reading the entry you posted, I'm even more conviced it's just a dream world and not a reset.
