Super Radical Gag Family

Episodes 1 & 2 out! 33 episodes total! www.lightshock-anime.com

Each episode runs about 5-6 minutes long. Comedy.

No, it is not a January/February 2004 show. It debuted in 1998.

Storyboard contributors include Akitaro Daichi (Now And Then, Here And There), Takeshi Mori (Vandread), and more.

Super Radical Gag Family is not for the faint of heart. It contains fart jokes and toilet humor. You'll either love it or hate it. So, enjoy

It has some pretty funny gags, some of them stomach-churning. ^_^

Anyone else having corrupt data errors in episode 2?

Is there any relation to Sexy-commando? The animation is sort of similar and they even have the pink octopus in the eyecatches.

I usually like short series. This one is just too obvious for subtle minds or whatever. OP song was nice but the show has no likable characters, without which a short series is nothing. Count me out.

Well, it certainly is appropriately named...

I'm conflicted by it. The humor is pretty hit/miss, and I'm not really a fan of the character designs.

Oh well, I guess I'll give it a few more episodes before I decide to continue with it or not.

I watched these eps today and I thought the first ep was hilarious. The dad is the best character because he has no concept of anything.

Interestly disturbing, that's what I think. The character are so disgusting that they are cute.

I was going to say this show is a Hanada rip-off but apparently Gag Family came first. Hanada is still a much better show IMO.

The only thing I see similar to Hanada is the boogers.
That was the one thing I didn't like about Hanada.

On a technical note, another player shows corrupt data at the beginning and end of the cultural notes of episode 2, otherwise the file is fine. Maybe it was a coincidence that the errors occured there, but I thought the fansubbers would like to know that.

What's wrong with that? Lightshock is using the scripts from the VHS subs (with permission), but they aren't just caps of the VHS subs. The point of doing this show is to introduce it to all the people that never heard of the show and/or wouldn't have a clue where to start hunting down a VHS sub.

There is nothing wrong with VHS fansubs cuz newer anime are on DVDs and the older stuff were probably made before DVDs were popular. It's nice to watch older anime too.

I never said there was anything wrong with it, just making a note that because they are VHS transfers, that obviously there may be some video quality issues.

We just released episode 3. This one is a pretty funny episode. There is a new guy named Kokkai Giin. He looks very American to me. Man, this guy is hilarious!! He can do #2 quite well ^_^;;; Check it out!

Just to let you know, we actually bought the r2 dvds as the raw source for this so there shouldn't be too many problems with the video.
