Girl A has a crush on Girl B. Girl A fantasizes about herself and Girl B. In the fantasy they may be embracing each other and more often then not the conversation goes like this:
Girl B: Call me Onee-sama.
Girl A: N-no it's too embarrassing!
If I had just seen this in one show I won't care but I have seen something like this in about 5 or so shows. Hanaukyo Maid Tai: La Verite, Hale nochi guu deluxe and Koi Koi 7 just to name a few. My question is, why does one girl want to call the other "onee-sama", Why is his so embarassing and where did this come from?

I'm not sure of the others, but I know episode 7 of Koi Koi 7 was a direct parody of the series.

It actually stems much farther than Marimite.

One can find aspects of this from "Ace o Nerae!" which was in many ways parodied in "Top o Nerae! Gunbuster" (i.e.: Takaya Noriko calling Amano Kazumi "Oneesama")
