A gemstone... would it that weird to have a gemstone that can use magic? (like her power allow her to use magic).

The problem with this theory- it would essentially imply one of three things:

a) She has an Esper power AND a power that lets her use magic, which means two separate ability, and the story was pretty adamant about No Duo-Skill.

b) Her Esper power allows her to use magic... Which just means she's a normal human being.

c) Her Esper power's side effect doesn't trigger the magic reaction; but I can't think of any power that can do that unless she's not using AIM... Which then is a whole other can of worms by itself...

But more importantly though, why would this cause a war between both sides?

Think about something like a ribbon from final fantasy.

Her ability is not have status effects or side effects (no sickness, etc, which also means no drawbacks on magic and not be afflicted by the contradictory reaction from be a esper and a mage).

Well I am just doing a wild guess.

War? Maybe it could be used for mass production and be given to one side over the other? You know, really turn the tables in a very bad way. Think if one side could field Esper/Magic user hybrids! Or maybe it has a special power that both sides are aware of and want for themselves?

That would allow her to use both magic and esper powers (though not at the same time)

That would be the equivalent of saying she doesn't have AIM at all since those things are an involuntary movement.

In a sense, that makes me think of an esper being able to control AIM fields...

As for speculation, maybe she's some sort of fugitive with dangerous info that may contribute to Artificial Heaven? (...I'm not really sure what I'm talking about here)

It still can be involuntary movement.
Something that happens involuntarily does not necessary have to happen all the time, it can be a temporal event.

When an esper uses their power they still release their AIM fields (which is involuntary), but they change how it behaves (which is voluntary).
I believe this was explained in the Nayuta SS.

You can also go for something more exotic like esper during day, magician during night.

But someone that controls AIM fields also releases AIM.
Unless it's her magical power that controls AIM fields (like Takitsubo Rikou)

Here's a wild idea. Maybe Arisa has, like Index, a quality that allows her to read/memorize grimoires without activating them, making her a menace for the magic side.

That would be the natural first instinct, but likely it's just a way for them to connect as friends.

...Even more so if she turns out to be a rich oujo-sama and can pay for both of them and through that she raises Kamijou's flag at the same time (Yup, not the other way around).
