Anime whit bleach like action

i need an anime with action like one in bleach that has a lot of char development and makes your blood boil of excitement.
i watched:
Bleach
Naruto( also kine of action i look for)
D.Gray-man((also very cool)
If possible i would like a long anime
Dont recommend One Piece main character makes me what to puke( i apologize to one piece fans).
Also i think Hikari no go was awesome how the directors made a kickass show of an old Japanese board game

Yu Yu Hakusho practically IS Bleach

Inu Yasha, although character development and story progress stop at episode 30 and it's fillers thereafter

Bastard!!, although it's short and has an open ending

Hokuto no Ken. Give it some time. It is old and full of fillers but its battles will glue you to the screen.

Busou Renkin, but it is generally cliche so don't expect too much.

You think Bleach has character development?

Well, I recommend you follow Canaan but it seems you're looking for Shounen.

You might like Gurren Lagaan.

^ SurpriIIIIIIse! Growing stronger is not character development. Development comes in mind and behaviour. Ichigo and everybody else are stil as they began.

Rurouni Kenshin is probably your best bet. In many ways the story is better than Bleach or Naurto. The action was pretty damn good for its time, but the 10 year difference gives a decided edge to Bleach and Naurto.

The OVAs were incredible and gave some much needed development on the character's past. I would not watch the OVAs until you've seen most of the TV series.

Samurai Deeper Kyo (have not seen)
Shura no Toki - great characters; story takes place over 3 generations, but the plot(s) is not as good as Bleach or Naruto. I was also a bit disappointed with how no one really cared or realized the significance of the only hand combat school/technique to go up against the sword fighters of the time..
Shigurui - short.. dark.. lots of bloody action.. but not much going on

If you liked Hikaru no Go, you might like:
Kaiji
Shion no Ou (I also love the artwork)

Actually I do, but in the other characters of Soul Society and Hueco Mundo when we look at their past (the arcs that show how they became who they are). But this thread is about suggestions and not about debating someone's preferences though..

I know its already been recommended but Soul Eater is very good. And i have read the Samurai Deeper Kyo manga and i think you will like it because we have some of the same taste in anime.

I second Soul Eater. There's development as in getting stronger, not in actual character, if that's what you like. Very good animation, though, Tim Burton-esque, with some really good and flashy fight scenes. The first half's quite good, in fact.

I have a very strong feeling that you will like Dragonball Z. Just a hunch. (While I think you will like it greatly, don't misinterpret this as me recommending it. Yuck.)

Try Busou Renkin, Elementar Gelad, Kure-nai, 07-Ghost, and Zero no Tsukaima.

Yep. If you want something like that then i suggest Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn. It has 203 episodes and a second season is comming out in spring 2011. The main character's, Tsuna, attitude really doesnt change. Hes a scaredy cat and all. but overall hes strong.

Kiba is a good one as well, if you're looking for an anime when someone gets a really strong power
