My heart stopped when I saw "Devil May Cry 5" on the title but....a Re-boot of the original DMC? Blah. I want Dante. Not this Dante. But DANTE. DMC isn't DMC without Dante! not this dante but...yah you know what i mean.

Unfortunately most of the licensable cross platform engines are designed with directx in mind, there is where the trouble starts for ps3 games, imo. There are a couple of engines based on opengl, like the ID tech (5), but no games has been released yet using it, and i doubt it will help. Best thing to do it to uses the assets of the UE3 engine, like the animation tool, and create an own enigne for the PS3 to run the game.
By modifying the UE3, it can putout 60fps like Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe have showed, but that game is just a piece of ... anyway. UE3 isn't that powerful, as a cross-platform engine, it is just been overhyped and well marketed by Epic. However some assets/programs are neat, like the animation system.
If you google for ps3 games running at 60fps, you'll see that most games are running on studio's self developed engines

Well all I can say is too much inconsistency on their interviews makes this DmC less credible. Now they're saying it'll be a prequel which is bunch load of you know what. I tell you after this DmC, it'll be back to the east, it's always like that on the western market they do things that are not supposed to be done in games/movies and other media alike that makes it laughable, hated and disregarded.

He isn't. We've seen what he was like back in DMC3, and by that time he didn't really give a fuck. He was a mercenary for the kicks, and he wasn't serious about the protecting people and keeping Sparda's legacy until the end of that game. However, he was no jerk, try-to-be-bad as this new guy looks like. Hell, even the novels in which he went was Tony Redgrave were more accurate than this. Dante had no need to smoke or flip the finger to "look cool".

Not to mention his father and brother have white hair. So, white is his natural hair-colour.

As for the gameplay. To be honest, whilst DMC's gameplay was fun, it was never great, nor was it anything special. I attached myself to this title only due to Dante, since I liked this character. Perhaps, I'm overreacting with the new "Dante," but they're basically changing the only reason why I even kept on playing this game.

I could be wrong, but Kyero could be meaning that the police is a front for something else? Though I couldn't see Dante as a green horn (if that is truly who that is) dodging the police that easily. I don't see him hurting the police either and may simply be going along with it?

And you just had to mention Front Mission...

Another victim of 'westernization of gaming'. Japan has to understand that Western games are up nowadays, not because they're Western, but because they're good games. Sure, the West, which has its own gaming preferences is the bigger market, but you can't expect DMC to have the same numbers as Call of Duty.
