Recycle Bin acting odd
You know my recycling bin is action weird, whenever I try to delete a file I always get "Error: cannot delete Desktop (data error cyclic redundacy check)". I know I am not trying to delete my desktop but I used chkdsk a few times and it always says that everything is fine. I hope it is not a bug because I cannot afford to have one now.

I'll try to find more time to look into this, but all I can say right now:
1. I would back up anything you care about and hope the drive lasts long enough so that you don't have to pay the current higher price due to Thailand flooding. 2. Not sure what you ran when you said you ran chkdsk. Try this. Code:
chkdsk /r |

Maybe that desktop file it tries to delete is hidden (system file or hidden flag is set). You can configure your explorer to show all files (critical system and hidden files).
However, this will not cure your problem. You might just be able to see that file that the recycler wants to delete. If you did Chkdsk, you can still try something else: Scandisk. In the explorer choose the drive letter of the drive where this errornous desktop file resides. Right click=>Properties=>Tools=>Error Checking

I did those, it looked like it worked thanks.
Edit: I don't want to double post but now I have a new problem related to the bin, the other day I was uninstalling a program and clearing out the registry using CCleaner when I found that now its asking me to delete 'WINDOWS'. How do I avoid this to in order stop any further complications?

Bear in mind, as Jinto said, you're problem isn't really fixed. Your hard drive may well be on the verge of death. If you go to the event viewer, system log there are probably a bunch of disk errors. (Right click My Computer, choose Manage, expand Event Viewer, click System)
Be sure to backup your important files ASAP. |
