As for Volume 8 and being better suited to Railgun, part of me does wonder if it will be adapted in Season 2 of the index anime or instead left for a second series of railgun or railgun OVA

Volume 8 gives the proper introduction to Musujime Awaki, who is obviously related more to Index than to Railgun. Therefore, it would be wise for J.C. Staff to keep this volume in the Index anime.

Also, since Volume 8 is centered on the science side, it would represent a perfect break from all the magic terminology used in the other volumes (not to mention it would be a perfect spot for the studio to insert Railgun references and keep the Railgun fans attracted to the Index anime).

I agree with you, but I would also like to add that the Sport Festival is another great place to toss in Railgun characters.

Let me paint you this picture.

Just when Kamijo is going to follow Tsuchimikado from behind, a white flash is shot from behind him.

“Wa!?”

He immediately used his right hand to block. The light bullet flies over, and upon touching Kamijo’s hand, Shoosh! A sound can be heard as it gently bounces off. Somewhere rather far away from him, one can see the girls of Tokiwadai staring, wide-mouthed, but Kamijo doesn’t care. It’ll be bad if he’s noticed. Thus, he nudged his elbow on a trembling male student nearby, pretending that it’s this boy who saved him.

“(…Kami-yan, it’s not the fourth one either. Next one.)”

The angry girls of Tokiwadai Middle school turn to aim at that boy. Tsuchimikado and Kamijo then proceed on to the fifth one.

Alter a bit of detail, and we can have dear Mitsuko Kongou play the role of the disgruntle Tokiwadai Girl

And then later on...

“Damn it! Tsuchimikado!!”

Kamijo shouts. He jumps onto the back of Tsuchimikado, who’s dashing towards the fifth post, and leaps over the group of boys on the ground. He loses his balance in mid-air, but still manages to grab the collar of the girl’s jogging suit, and uses momentum to drag her aside. At least he manages to leave the place where the pole will fall on.

At this moment, from far away, an explosion caused by esper powers colliding occurs.

The sixth pole, which is falling down, is affected by the storm generated. The metal pole now falls towards Kamijo and company, with numerous times the weight and momentum.

(Damn it, got to get out of the way first!)

In this posture, when he’s lying on the ground, Kamijo is unable to jump away. Due to the impact when he fell down, Kamijo’s body is hurting all over. He shifts his aching body over, and pushes the girl, now unable to move, away. The girl looks surprised, and it seems that she doesn’t even know what’s happening around her.

And then,

“Hehehe…”

Kamijo laughs weakly.

“Really…you…YOU-REALLY-WANT-ME-TO-BE-THE-ONE-PUNISHED!!??”

At the same time, Mikoto continues to fire an electric shot.

“Ww…waaahhhh!! That girl down there, before you get hit by this large-scale attack, run away!! I’ll block this, so hurry up and run!!”

Kamijo frantically waves his right hand to deflect the electric shot.

The girl just shouted from behind, “Thank you very much! I’m sorry!!” bows politely, and runs away from this battlefront with amazing speed. In a flash, she’s lost among the participants who are duking it out.

Kamijo didn’t look behind as he calmly says,

“…Phew, seeing her being so lively, guess nothing’s wrong.”

...Just get either one of the Swim girls to do it

About Accelerator, what happened with him during the Daihasei, so far there is a reference of Last Order saying to somonew(obvious who is) to wait for her. Did they enjoyed the sport festival without problem? Or there is a plan about him for railgun series?

Nothing happen to him during the festival as far as I know, likewise nothing major seem to happen to Mikoto during that time. If Railgun is going to get to that part, chances are they would just show the whole festival and bits of pieces of Touma, Tsuchimikado and Stiyl running around.

I'm just guessing.
For Mikoto's view she can be chasing Touma and cheering up her friends like Saten and Uiharu while she is with her mother.
For Kuroko's view staying with Uiharu on her wheel chair and then clinging onto Mikoto.
For Uiharu, well.... she was discarded after Kuroko found Mikoto....
For Saten, it would be interesting to see what is awainting her, maybe she'll meet "that" person just like Uiharu did on vol.15.

About vol 8 Prologue....

Spoiler for early Railgun manga:

The scene has Mikoto testing her power and readings go off the charts, figuratively speaking. This is also found in the early chapters of Railgun, but there's no mention of Mitsuko Kongou or Kuroko's power being tested. In Railgun, Kuroko was in a classroom when Mikoto was being tested over her power.

However, it's not concrete enough to be a plot hole. Mikoto was probably tested several times, like all espers.
