it wouldn't be fair because railgun sales more than index. so priority more for railgun so it's natural to have an ova despite index getting index II.

I've thought of that, but I also know alot of shows have OVAs while having less sales than Index, like seitokai yakuindomo and later, kore wa zombie desuka and many others. So sales is definitely not an issue only whether they want to do it.

Does it matter? Is a 15000 DVD/bd sales somehow considered less a success in JC staff than other studios?

If you're not convince then let me use a JC staff series; Shana on average sold 10000, less than Index II, but she had tons of OVAs, even a movie! It would be weird for Index to not have any OVA.

is the movie on shana done by the same studio? because the movie's story is just so different from the series.

Yeah it's JC Staff; the movie is a retelling of the first arc, other than some minor changes like an earlier introduction of a character, overall it's more accurate than the TV series in terms of adaptation.

so if the movie of shana is better in adaptation is the possibilities of vol 20-22 turning into movie good or bad? like 1 movie for book.

Somehow this is steering away from my original topic but I'll answer; the reason why I said the shana movie was 'better' was because it accurately adapted the story from the novel, rather than change the scenes in the anime.

And chances are that the the last three volumes would become movies are very slim, like nanometer. JC staff doesn't strike me as a company that can afford it. Plus there's no reason to turn them into movies when a tv series would do the same thing.

but I prefer if it will be an ova than a series. I'm seeing it as a disappointment if it turns into series due to ups and downs in the way JC staff handles thing.

There's no law that OVAs are always better than TV series when it comes to adaptations, if the director is the same- would it matter?

but at least ova looks better budget wise time wise and may maybe graphic wise. It has more time to prepare than a series.

This.

In accord to the story from Stiyl's SS, the dates seems to be placed after SS1 but before vol. 16.

I'm not a crazy big fan of Bardway, but I think it should be important to introduce her before New Testament- assuming they intend to go that far.

As for why I said an original story... It's because I'm REALLY not a fan of Stiyl, and I think an OVA would be wasted about him.

1. Yes, it makes sense because her introduction on the vol. 22 will feel a bit forced.

2. Stiyl's story is a plot device for future events. It shows Norse magic by first time and several references to Runic magic. Then you have Kanzaki's SS which happens to touch the same matter but on a higher level of powers including a Norse Gods weapons and terms.

Oh, and Bardway just happens to appear on Kanzaki's SS too .
One cay say 'I saw it coming', well if there is some hope I would like Stiyl's SS geting animated and then Kanzaki's SS, the fight against the valkirye was epic.

I just read some curious speculation on 4ch...

What do you guys think about the level 5's being related to the seven sins?
Something like this:

1 Accelerator - Wrath
2 Kakine - Greed
3 Misaka - Pride
4 Mugino - Envy
5 Shokuhou - Lust?
6 ? - Gluttony
7 Gunha 8 Takitsubo - Sloth

Alternatively, Gunha could be Pride instead of Misaka. (And according to some doujins, Misaka could be lust )

Oh that? Do these sins even matter since Christian methods are irrelevant?

I don't think Aleister would have chosen his level 5 Espers based on something like that.

But, it could be interesting if it turned out Kamachi had used those sins as traits... too bad I'm not on speaking terms with him to ask about it...

The thing is

-Gunha is not supposed to be a level 5 or something like that since his power is unknown
-Level 5s aren't just chosen they are measured by power. 20,000 level 3 Sisters= 20 Mikotos. Or something like that
-Awaki and Rikou are said to be level 5's if they could control their powers better.
