(CR) Hibike! Euphonium Season 2 [anticipation]

Well, it looks like Hibike! Euphonium (Sound! Euphonium) is getting a sequel/second season and movie. Very well deserved

Plot Summary:

After swearing off music due to an incident at the middle school regional brass band competition, euphonist Kumiko Oumae enters high school hoping for a fresh start. As fate would have it, she ends up being surrounded by people with an interest in the high school brass band. Kumiko finds the motivation she needs to make music once more with the help of her bandmates, some of whom are new like novice tubist Hazuki Katou; veteran contrabassist Sapphire Kawashima; and band vice president and fellow euphonist Asuka Tanaka. Others are old friends, like Kumiko's childhood friend and hornist-turned-trombonist Shuuichi Tsukamoto, and trumpeter and bandmate from middle school, Reina Kousaka.

However, in the band itself, chaos reigns supreme. Despite their intention to qualify for the national band competition, as they currently are, just competing in the local festival will be a challenge—unless the new band advisor Noboru Taki does something about it.

From the studio that animated Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Kyoto Animation's Hibike! Euphonium is a fresh and musical take on the slice-of-life staple that is the high school student's struggle to deal with their past, find romance, and realize their dreams and aspirations.

My favorite anime of 2015 is getting a second season? Awesome!

...Though I am wondering how they'll handle the music performances here... From what I understand, the rules in real life competitions (which they seem to be sticking to for the show) are that they can't just change pieces mid-competition; the two songs they performed during the local competition would still be what they'd have to go with for the regionals and nationals as well. And we've already seen that performance in great detail in season one. So what, when they finally get to the national finale, are we just going to see them playing the exact same two pieces again? Or worse, are they just gonna skip it entirely because we've already seen it?

...Well, that aside, the main strength of the first season was always its character-interactions anyway, so as long as we get more of that and it continues to be as grounded and believable as it has been, I'm happy.

That's why I asked, though? There were two topics worthy of having an arc, and one of them is the conflict that happened before Kumiko got into the school.

Oh, if you are talking about the previous conflict in Kitauji, yeah it should have some focus on it during the Regionals arc.

Btw, I kinda thought it's not gonna be TV Anime but movie(s). Because it only says 続編(sequel). And the fact that season 1 recup movie's subtitle is "～北宇治高校吹奏楽部へようこそ～", which is same as the novel vol.1's.

The show closed pretty well for me personally, so I'm not sure in what direction we could go; I think it should be fun at the very least and announcement of more came sooner than anticipated.

Weeell, just so you know, Yaraon is not a trustworthy site. It's not official, just a individual blog. The news/information on the site are copy&paste from 2 channel and twitter. Oh but it doesn't mean I still don't believe it's gonna be TVAnime. Just like the ANN article said, this site, which is 100 times more trustworthy than yaraon, says it's TV series.

In the end that's pretty cool news. It was a great anime last season to be sure.

It did end well so they didn't need to do another season, but I'm up for that. Curious to see what might happen along the way.

Not to take away from Euphonium (which I think it's an excelent series) but if you think this you should really watch Hyouka
