So in the end it turns out that Hato tried to look like the girl he had a crush for.
Wow that's totally crazy... Also Kikuchi: the man who has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the worst possible moment.

For some reason, I thought Kuchiki was supposed to be someone out of Fullmetal Alchemist.....
I want a spinoff with Sue and those two other chicks that used to work with Ogi. They're funny.

And if I might put on my yuri-goggles for a moment: I'd really like to see a love triangle between Yajima, her shy friend from high school and Yoshitake. |

Took longer than I thought but finally managed to catch up with the current episode. Read the manga up to chapter 58 then stop and jump right off to Nidaime anime. I choose to skip any previous anime. Hope I didn’t miss anything important, or rather, the previous seasons anime doesn’t cover everything in the manga if I’m not mistaken.
About the Manga (no spoiler) Really enjoying the whole manga, I like all the president characters. The first pres was trolltastic, the 2nd pres Madarame is such a total BRO and some fans are calling him moe recently so can I call him “BROe”? 4th pres was entertaining especially when pairing with Saki. 3rd and current 5th pres doesn’t interested me much at first but they become better as story progress even more so now that they’re together as couple. Nidaime So now for my impression of Nidaime, I find it funnier compare to the prequal manga so yeah I like them even though I can see why it’s a huge turn off for many original fans with the increasing in number of female to male ratio mostly who are into yaoi, and how the casts are becoming wackier and less realistic. Well, I don’t care much about those aspects in comedy anime anyway as long as characters are interesting, and Hato sure is an interesting one. Nidaime's Main Protagonist I always enjoy watching trap particularly the “otoko (male) no ko (girl)” characters in anime, because their very nature is ironic and amusing on their own, but for Hato case, you have to look beyond that. I always suspect there is a deeper reason behind his crossdressing habit other than bully or simply for fun like Rika suggested back in ep. 2 and after watching ep. 9, I’m curtain that this is the case. What curious me is about the personality change when crossdressing: from his male form who isn’t as shy and obsessive with BL to an easily embarrassed and fragile girl who barely outspoken, but obviously pretty much into BL. What I believe is that this crossdressing personality isn’t self picked (Hato could’ve chosen a more outgoing girl personality like his separate female conscious), but instead he based it on someone else’s: his high school crush. That would also explain his appearance and writing style as hinted in ep 8 that it was also a copy of someone else’s. His crush is probably a major inspiration during the process of coming up with his crossdressing identity. Guess we will find out more about that next episode. I think I will enjoy Hato’s character even more now that I know that he wasn’t just crossdressing for fun or to ship himself with Madarame. Although, I’ve to question his taste since his former crush is very different from Madarame. That would be cruel to Madarame if Hato decides to ship Hato x Mada simply because he spent time in his room changing. It’s not like I’m expecting them to become official (consider the genre: I don’t think the author has the gut to cross the gender boundary), but with how much Hato seems to care so much for Madarame in his selfish way, I personally feel that this goes beyond normal kouhai sempai relationship which is the least I can say about it. There is still some mystery left regarding Hato. While his crush may shed some light to his crossdressing identity, it doesn’t explain the separate conscious that keeps floating around him whenever he isn’t crossdressing. Yeah, it’s highly amusing and very original. It’s as though he’s playing boke/tsukkomi inside his head, but it would be even better if there is some kind of explanation behind that spirit thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something supernatural related, but I would prefer a more psychological explanation. About Trap: How the term is used in this series I’m still need more time to get used to the term “otoko (male) no ko (girl” being thrown around like air in this series. It was quite overused in the recent episodes, and it makes me feel sort of awkward when the sub replacing the term with “trap”. Not that I can think of any better word for it without confusing audience who aren’t too familiar with that term, but I feel like ranting about it. Spoiler for Ranting:
Sorry for long post. I wish I could’ve followed this series much much sooner. P.S. I like Kikuchi better this season and for a good reason. I've found someone worse than him. Spoiler for Guess who?:

He's a playboy, but not a bad person. There's really nothing to dislike about him, tbh.
He's actually a pretty nice guy, and I LOVE seeing Hato blushing and shying away from male advancements. Kucchy on the other hand has little to no redeeming value.

Kuchiki has a good well-paying job unlike most of the losers he graduated with. He had a romantic attachment in high school, not something any of the rest of the Genshiken crowd current or previous ever experienced. He is the crowning success story the others aspire to and they resent him for it.

Been waiting for this episode since the announcement of the anime, just for the *chuu* moment, especially when it got closer and closer to the moment, madarame all smug about the facts of reality and Sue initiating her ultimate attack was priceless, then getting caught by Saki right at the end, especially the pause before she teases him being a lolicon, that was genius, who ever delivered on that pause in the anime deserves an award, it wasn't apparent in the manga because you're just reading from panel to panel but the effect was just the same or at least from what I remembered. There is some extra dialogue after, before the end of the chapter but I'm guessing they ended it here for the cliffhanger effect. I hope they don't skip it and continue it in the next episode.
Next episode on the other hand is gonna be just as awesome if not more then this episode, can't wait.
