Think this episode "suffers" from too many scene transitions, so the main focus, which is how much the band means to Sonico, was kind of lost if the watcher is already not paying attention. The writing could be better yes, but a lot of people elsewhere are seriously overreacting.

Now with less things to focus on next episode it seems, hopefully it wouldn't look as clusterfked as this episode. Then again, the last part of that preview will bring a lot of ammunition for the haters anyway

Man, I only watch this series for boobs and wide waist. It suppose to promote music and songs right? It all drops to pure fanservice IMHO.

I really don't think less than 5min of modeling scenes count as pure fanservice...

then again if you are using the broader definition of fanservice, yes this show is a fandisc to all those SuperSonico fans

Oh hey, I noticed that Sonico's mom is ALSO in the OP (she's the one with the double-necked guitar). I suppose music runs in the family.

I think it's actually her grandma when she was younger. A shot in EP 1 suggests it

If the 70s is to be believed, over 30 years is more than enough for a gap to conclude that it's Grandma.

Bwahaha, tentacles next episode. I might stick around for that even though this show is boring me to tears so far. The only reason I made it through episode 2 was the faint expectation that the writers would throw us some kind of curveball. I thought Sonico would possibly be forced perform solo, wow some producer in the audience, get a recording contract, and leave her unfortunate band mates behind prompting a bloody jealous revenge incident later from Suzu or Fuuri. Either that, or her band mates are tragically killed in a car accident trying to get to the concert. But I guess this show is not going to be like that.

The fan service is actually quite tame, I wouldn't mind if they ramped it up a bit. Still, it's nice to have a show with girls with actual figures. I could look at Sonico's hips, waist, rear and bust all day.

One thing, Super Sonico is her actual name? Does this mean her family name is Super?

I think it's ironic how Super Sonico is reminding me, of all things, of Diamond Daydreams or Piano. Sonico's figure aside, the show's surprisingly low-key, just following the daily life of a college student really.

Of course there's the beach episode with octupi next week but right now it's hard NOT to compare Soni Ani to a slow SOL show.

This show is probably the hidden idol series of this season, just like how last year there was one hidden mech show as well.

You know those "behind the scene" videos about idols? This series feel like one. If you don't like the topic girl, you won't give a thing about it. In some way this is a major service to the established fan base.

As it stands it probably won't sway the naysayers nor draw in too many new fans, but should be a good indicator as to how idol videos are like that probably has no overarching drama. Just in case that other internet virtual idol decides to have her own anime series, they will look at the performance of this series and decide how they will present her.

I am trying to get some info on how many discs it actually sold.

that being said, this show might have a weird demographic, I know several fujoshi that are watching/buying this show to support nitro, because they make their bl games.

Well, the limited edition BD that comes with a Sonico bikini figma sold out in hours on Amazon so that's a lot of support either way.

I like supporting Nitro, but good god I wish they'd pimp out Naitou half as much as they do Sonico. I NEED more "male Sonico" merchandise.

Hey guys long time no post.
Been catching up as of late and saw Sonico will have an animation! Awesome! Just finished watching episodes 1 and 2 and I gotta say this is a great slice of life anime dealing with a college student who works 3 jobs. Man no wonder she sleeps very soundly. I also really like that they included some characters from the game Sonicomi and omake appearances of other characters from Axanael. Awesome anime can't wait for the next episode.

10/10 both episode
