If they are going to go that route then probably in the middle. At least until she isn't pregnant anymore.

Yeah, but wouldn't that defy the list of the original Genji list. Though in a way I may like it this way, the Tale of Genji ended horribly at the end so this is a good thing.

I'm not familiar with the Genji novel so I don't know. Does the order of women really matter?

Yeah, it kinda does. The affairs that Genji had spark other events and affairs. In a way it doesn't matter to me, story is interesting as long as it doesn't end like the original Genji I am happy.

Not for the manga though, since it started with the cousin who was supposedly the 4th one on Genji's list.

6th to be exact in one of the stories, though his cousin was suppose to be on his step mother's side not his aunt.

True, either way Terumi is going to have 14 girls at the end. Doesn't matter about the order, though I would like to have the step mother first (preference due to the fact I like older women).

You have to consider modern conventions and how the old will translate into the new. And it's not just the type of relationship (i.e. cousin, step-mother) but the type of women who will fulfill the roles (e.g. instead of raising a young girl, Terumi could have a kohai that he teaches... something to).

I think the chapter was just to show Terumi's progress in handling girls. He started from being afraid of them to being able to talk to one and getting her number on his own.

Supposing he follows the original, at some point he'd have to adopt a young girl and raise her for the express purpose of marrying her. So I'd assume eventually he'll leave the list.
