It was never stated in the anime, as far as I can recall and the subsequent discussions this forum has already had on this topic, that losing Brain Burst causes you to lose your memory of it. KYH did not mention it during any of the discussions.

The way that Megumi was acting at the end, almost confessing that she is a Brain Burster suggests that her memory is still intact. I still have the belief that she is using the hack system that Nomi and his gang are using to disguise themselves from the Brain Burst opponents list; hence, she does not show up onscreen when others Burst Link. Thereffore, I still think she is a Burst Linker and has not lost it yet.

Do you actually believe what Yellow Radio said? It is extremely unlikely he knew what happened to Red Rider. After all, none of the kings heard from him. It is more likely he was messing with Black Lotus.

Yup, that's right -- we had this conversation in the single thread back in the day. They never said (or really implied) anything about losing your memories, only that you could never play the game again. Now, it could be the case and they just didn't tell us for some reason... but there's nothing in the anime to suggest that this is the case (as far as I've seen).

I don't remember reading anywhere about memory loss. It'd be pretty unreasonable if you consider it, it'd literally be years of memories going to crap. After all, time is accelerated there. Would be bad premise at work as well...

Did anyone debate about Chrome Disaster player? When his burst link game was uninstalled. Yuniko kept in contact with him right? My memory fuzzy if they talked about burst link at all, but I recall them playing different games together.

He was moving to Fukui if I remember right, therefore he used The Disaster to accumulate more points.
After losing BB, they talked a bit and promised to play some VR games together even after he moves away in the future.
There was no mention whether they talked about BB or him remembering/forgetting about AW, so we whether losing BB causes memory loss is ambiguous (in the anime).

The thing that was mentioned is that BB stays hidden from society even after years it first appeared.

It's possible that Niko avoided talking about BB when she met with him.

...It's also possible that in the conversation she had with him, she didn't notice that he lost his memories.
Niko did say that he had returned to how he used to be when they first met.

Either way, it's an ambiguous clue to what happens when one loses BB.
