Now, seriously, what are gonna really discuss about him? Sum-up his "character"= dense idiotic dumb male, who 90% of the time stares blankly to aleatory locations, and the rest is fighting on IS and actually using his BRAIN!!(Omg)

Ichika is so generic... Typical slacker with innate abilities, good-natured and strong-willed when things get serious, and utterly oblivious any and all affection. Oh well, at least he's not hotblooded, I loathe those main characters the most.

He could use a bit of Makoto power, except the bad end wouldn't really be as visceral given he'd likely be blown up by one of his suitor's IS's.

I would like to see a show where all the girls give up on a guy because he's so dumb/deaf/blind to their advances, that would be such a breath of fresh air.

If I were in this guy's position I'd be stocking up on contraception products weekly.

He is pretty cool. And not that dense if you have seen a fair amount of similar anime. Just within the norm.

I also like how Infinite Stratos is Ichika's story, he is always the center of attention and everything revolves around him, instead of the girls taking all the spotlight and leaving the MC in the shadow and as a mere trigger for fanservice scenes (happens so much).

A naturally skilled pilot but his victory record is still zero. Will that change in the upcoming episode?

no that kind of ending would make the manga/ LN a complete waste of time to read.

Only problem is that he's too dense to probably realize it.

He could probably go a Virgin for the rest of his life and not even bother at all.

I mean sure he's dead dense but he definitely handles himself allot better in the ecchi scenes compared to other harem MCs.
Well by a tiny fraction that is.

This is true... He is atleast somewhat better in terms of protecting himself then your average harem male lead will display.. But his inability to see even the slightest bit of "romance" in the other female character's intentions when they make lunch for him, and how they act in front of him (especially with Houki's sudden declaration).. It just makes me feel sad for him... Not trying to sound mean or anything.. But come on!

What to say about Ichika? Well for one he's a ladies man. I'm not sure if he knows that but he somehow makes any girl fall for him especially the main heroines. He's on a dense side but I guess things will make clear him soon (I hope). Oh, and he has choices too! He can have a Japanese (2 of them if I'm not mistaken namely Houki and Ran), an English/British (Cecilia), Chinese (Rin), French (Charlotte), or German (Laura) girl. I'm rooting for Charlotte

Isn't it kinda hard not to be dense in harems? I mean if he notice that the girls are interested in him then it will be pretty awkward hanging out with them and stuff.

So whats wrong with that? Like I said before if he notices it would be awkward hanging out with them. If they tells you that they like you would you suddenly start thinking which girl I should pick? This isn't the bachelor man.

They wouldn't confess to Ichika that easily. And even if they did it that soon, they wouldn't score any love points. In fact, they'd make the situation more complicated. So they can only influence him but not make him force to choose because that'd have a relatively big probability of backfiring. The problem is that he is dense at noticing anything. The other option would be that he does notice but he's simply not interested, which would be fatality.

They're doing what's next to best to him, taking care of him and giving him hints about what they feel but seems like it would take a while for Ichika to notice. Let time take it's course and nurture their feelings no?

Now that Charles is added to the harem, I feel in some strange way that Ichika will somehow get the German girl to fall for him next... The extent of his harem is astonishing... Also I think I sorta get how Ichika is completely dense in this type of situation, since he was sent to a school completely filled with girls who keep adoring him and wanting to befriend him, he merely takes the heroines' advices and hints as mere "befriending"... Since Houki showed quite some hostility towards Ichika, it would take him a while to notice that Houki really does have feelings for him.

Cecilia is always getting interrupted by either Rin or Houki, so things are not clearly visible in his view. Rin seems to be taking a passive stance now, ever since the fight between Rin and Ichika, so no major moves made towards getting Ichika to clearly see. But Charles is getting a big advantage so far.... This could be trouble for our other harem ladies

But that's just taking it in another view and just clearly saying "Stop being dense Ichika!!!"

Now I'm probably just being silly at this point, but wouldn't all of Ichika's actions up to this point be consistent with him being gay? It's not that he hasn't chosen a girl so much that he seems completely indifferent to his entire harem. He has a legion of attractive women practically throwing themselves at him and rather than taking advantage of all of them, or choosing one, or even pondering his circumstances he seems completely indifferent to all of it. It's as if he doesn't consider any of these girls to be potential lovers but rather they're all just potential friends.

The only person he shows any interest towards is "Charles." But in this case he seems almost too friendly. He seems to be interested in physical closeness in addition to emotional closeness as evidenced by his holding Charles close in various scenes as well as his desire to change with Charles. Then he goes ahead and walks in while Charles is in the shower, which seemed odd to me, but his reaction after seeing Charles' "assets"

was more telling in my mind. He seemed almost horrified like he realized the man he had been attracted to was actually a woman. Then the icing on the cake is when Charlotte's breasts touch his arm and she asks if he wants to see them. His reaction is not one of confirmation or a hasty denial but rather confusion, as if he never considered such a thing.

I have no serious expectation that this would be the case but it is a fun alternate character interpretation and it amuses me that all of the events so far could be consistent with a gay harem lead.
