While I'm still sorting out many of the series recommended to me, I'll just chime in that I really enjoyed Skip Beat (And am also reading the manga as well which I'm up to date with).
Skip Beat definitely filled all the requirements I laid out in this thread. So if that helps you guys narrow down your recommendations, then it would be appreciated. My next show that I plan to watch for now is Lovely Complex.
