Not really, all the confrontations of Nanoha VS. Vita were plagued by jokes save for the first and last ones. It's just that their enemy chemistry was good enough to allow some wisecracking between them xD

Signum and Cypha on the other hand utterly lack such elements. Heck, most of Signum VS. Fate battle were pretty serious during A's and Fate was an adorable 9-year old girl at the time xDU.

I think Justin refer to FORCE's bizzarre brand of humor compared with previous installements of the franchise. They expect that stabbing someone's guts and then throw a joke will make a funny scene. It doesn't

You must know when and how to throw jokes at such moments tough cause the effect is very different. One must be able to get fun at the irony or at least get a sense of dark humour about a grim situation but that's not the case here. The jokes are thrown just for the sake of draw some funny faces and most of the time have nothing to do with what's happening and a such feel forced like Curren doing neko expressions while telling Tohma about the Huckebein's plans, it's not funny.

If you want good jokes in the midst of tragedy then call The Joker he's a friggin master at this. Or if you want to be closer to japanese stuff then call Ryuk from Death Note, it have lots of clever dark humour xD

EDIT: Page claimed for Signum being victim of cruel jokes.

Well I mean things like the Wolkenritter getting killed and Hayate freaking out, Section Six's headquarters getting ruined, and Precia telling Fate she actually hated her. Those didn't really have anything light-hearted around at the time, because it would kind of lessen them.

What about after serious moments? Or before them? That's usually how it goes. Plus just a hero and a villain fighting isn't exactly wrist-cutting material.

Throwing in jokes in serious (and good quality) moments, absolutely ruins fiction and has no place there. Blooded wrists or not. I, for one, prefer bloody. And tender.

However when faced with serious situations people often attempt to make light of it as a coping mechanism.

Yeah, but it's not really doing that. I'd actually like it a lot if some of the characters pointed out how silly some parts of the plot were, but this story doesn't seem to feel like irony.

Wait what... just because of anime/manga people will start to cut themselves? Don't you that's a little extreme?

Force true colored is a colored version of Force comic. All monochrome pages are painted in color.

The left one is Force true colored 1st volume and the right one is ViVid FULL COLORS 1st volume that is a colored version of ViVid.Both were released on April 26 and the 2nd Volumes are out on May 26.(the original artists didn't paint them.probably outsourcing)

Color does not help Vivid's character designs.

And Touma isn't even on the cover of his own book.

lol guess I'll admit even if Touma is the main character of Force, I'd still not want him on the cover, especially concerning a Nanoha series

And wait full colour?....must....have!

So, what exactly are the odds of Signum/Cypha round two being a good fight, since scans will be appearing soon? Since that's mostly why she in particular showed up, I would hope fairly probable, but...

Today is exactly two years since chapter 7 was published. It's about time for a good rematch.

I'm just worried it'll be another anti-climax, especially since it's a half chapter again.

Ahhh...today is a special day. So much time ahs passed and so much opinions and hopes had changes over the course of these two years, i'm internally divided (no pun intended) about my expectatives about this upcoming re-match.

Mainly because i've spent so much time suffering dissilusion after dissilusion that i'm now very snarky about Signum's battle prowess and can't ignore all the things against her that apoint for an unsuccessful attempt in fighting Cypha (permanent injuries, weakened body, clumsier experimental equipement).

Yet, my inner naive and childish fanboy who still admires Signum want to see her emerging triumphant after an awesome battle and to see her work on claiming back her place among the strongest characters of the franchise. I'm afraid cuase right now that seems to be an impossible dream so i don't let those toughts to cloud my vision.

Another high possibility, and another source for worries xDU. If Signum is victim of a tragedy now at least she'll be open for interesting developement but if she wins or draws in a lmae way she'll be reduced to a merely "OK" character.

But for now ...let's bring out the cake and the streamers xD!
