Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai~Be Enchanted in the Flames of Darkness!

Enchanted by Devilish Truth Stare sounds more fitting since we won't be getting any FukuJun Yuuta.

And from the early description, I kind of wanted to see Satone Shichimiya.

Second that, even though I haven't read the novel and barely known anything about her.

On the different matter, I wonder what kind of "surprise" will be waiting in the anime.

Nyahaha! You think you could handle Sofia Ring SP Saturn the 7th?! (Seriously, it's a good thing they're not going to include her. Rikka will be much more popular and shine better without Shichimiya.)

Site update!
The magazine Champion RED will have an article about the show in its November magazine. We also have two new cast members:
Nanase Tsukumo-sensei: Kikuko Inoue
Juuhana Takanashi (Not sure on the pronunciation of her given name, but she is Rikka's older sister): Eri Sendai

Tsukumo-sensei is from the novels, but Rikka's older sister is an anime-original character.

They're going all out in anime original stuff, eh? From what I read, it seems that the basic plot outline will be maintained (outside of the ending), but it seems like a lot of dialogue will be added. A good opportunity for inbetweeners to write scripts again, like they have been doing lately. Maybe Kyoani can even find a purely in-house writer from this show, and make an original feature starring the settings for their CMs...

...I hope.

Damn shame about the preview not being aired. Glad the response is positive.

Seems like they're investing on this one. This looks to be another agenda for the contests.

If they can get great script writers, that'd help boost the quality even more. Not to mention original works from them might come sooner.

The only "original" KyoAni show so far was really bad. They are good in adapting stuff. They could make descent additional story to some existing one but not smth fully "original".

An animation studio is not a single united entity constant in time.

Munto OVA was something done in 2003 to showcase their animation, because they wanted someone to pick them up to produce a show by themselves. They were only doing subcontract work until then. The story didn't really matter as long as it was a vehicle for there to be plenty of animation, and as such it was done in a rush.

Keep in mind also that Kyoani was really, really different back then. Yamakan was there, Aratani was there, they were much smaller than they are now, among other things.
Yoshiji Kigami handled the script and story for Munto as a sort of experiment; he is mainly an animator/director, but never wrote until then. As you see, the experiment failed, and since then he hasn't touched a script. That's why Kyoani is looking for writers everywhere, so that the studio doesn't have to depend on adaptations. They have promoted inbetweeners to do scripts, they have this award thing going on, all with LN publishing company and whatnot.
This show will probably be more of an original work than anything else, and I want to see what they do with it; it's probable that they start doing more original projects in the future.

Chūni-byō Demo Koi ga Shitai! isn't exactly an anime orignal story as it is based on a novel. Though a novel that KyoAni got for their awards event.

Also they have shown to be good at crafting anime only material within an existing frame. Some of the interesting scenes in K-On were anime original and some of their take on scenes that don't have enough description or action to them they can make quite amusing (I don't recall if the Space Game episode in Haruhi had the detailed "in-game" style from the light novel, but KyoAni made the scenes quite epic, while thowing in some nice touches...the full orchestra piece in game become a 8-bit midi in real life.)

Nuff said.
It's highly probably given this Chu2byo case, next years we will see an increase in the amount of "in-house" stories, Kyoani awards were born in order to reinforce their weak spots.
Since Chu2byo was adapted, I guess a lot of new writers will try to prove luck next years considering that they have a real chance of achieving an anime. And in turn, Kyoani obtains a wider and better spectrum of works to choose. More than harm, remember that to date nobody has managed to get a first place.

Bad news for those who still expect some Key/Kyoani work at future. They already have other unfinished proyects like Haruhi and FMP and added Hyouka recently (and probably Chu2byo also)... being honest, it'd be hard to see it, or soon at least.

Are you sure Inoue isn't the one voicing Rikka's sister?

Just kidding.

Spoiler for Anime content interview (minor spoiler):

Looking forward to learning more about the new characters.

Adorable yes, but it didn't seem catchy on the first listen. And I'm not sure if what she's going could be considered a dance to recreate.
