No not manga into anime. Im talking about the big thick things, that you never want to read.

Theres only a few of them that I know of.

Journey to the West (Saiyuki)

12 Kingdoms

Condor Hero

Im wanting to know if some are translated into English (I need reading materail for lunch at work) I know Saiyuki was Translated, and ive already order me the first book.

But the grand high wish list is 12 Kingdoms, The anime just totally ended short (damn them for ending it early) I want no i need to know more of the story, like does Taiki ever return, why he doesnt ,remember being back in that world,what happended to him while he was there, and what happend to the emperor. Reason why im centerd around taiki is cause thats the only unfinshed story(i think?) from the anime. Im sure there are more stories in the book.

If anyone knows if its translated and were to buy it, It would be the best thing ever for me/PLus if anyone knows of any other good anime sereis that orignated from a novel, tell me. I might want to read them, You never know waht they left out form the book.

romance of the three kingdom is a book made into anime, it has a very nice story if you could keep up with 1000 characters, its a chinese story, i heard that it was based on a true historical figures but i am not sure.

Yes, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is somewhat based on the historical wars in China, the main characters are all non-fictional.

Actually, Three Kingdom was a Chinese novel made into Japanese comic series, then into animation. And yes, the novel was based upon historical facts and figures. It is said that the novel is somewhat sensationalized to attract more readers from way back when the book was written, still, most accounts in the novel can be verified through historical documents and artifacts.

well, there is the novel Romance of Three Kingdoms, and there is more historically correct Records of Three Kingdoms. Romance of Three Kingdoms takes stuff from various sources include the Records of Three Kingdoms, but adding many folklore stuff and rumor stories.

Many popular animes that most Westerners think are based on mangas are actually from novels:

Scrapped Princess
Full Metal Panic
Slayers
Nadesico
Silent Moebius
R.O.D
Maburaho
etc...

Many (if not all) of the World Masterpiece Theater anime are based on foreign novels.

Silent Mobius and Nadesico are based on novels? I thought Nadesico is an original story while Silent Mobius is based on a manga series by Asamiya Kia?
