Has anyone read this? Heerenveen striker Afonso Alves's stock is rapidly increasing after scoring seven, yes, SEVEN, goals in an Dutch Eredivisie match. In total, his team thrashed Heracles Almelo 9-0. |

Yay! England and Scotland win! Scotland remain top of the table with 2 world cup finalists and knock out Ukraine, while England have their 5th consecutive 3-0 victory in qualifying games (). Wayne Rooney scored a competetive goal for the first time in... ... a long while, Barry started ahead of Lampard, Lescott made his debut and Ashley Cole was injured.

Germany becomes the first team to qualify for Euro 2008, that makes 3 German-speaking countries in the Finals for now. Netherlands losing to Romania, just what on earth has happened to the Dutch?
Now Scotland have got to qualify after all these marvelous wins, or they'll definitely get stuffed by their fans. It would be exciting if Scotland qualify and meet England (provided they too qualify). |

^The threads not dying, its just that a lot of the competitions that people talk about in this thread haven't been played for the past 2 weeks due to the international matches...
At least, I hope thats the reason.... As for the internationals, England will be playing Russia on a plastic pitch, as described by the ex-Russia captain Alexei Smertin; Quote:

Yeah, it's World Cup Qualifiers time:
(LOL at the commentators. The one screaming the goal sounds Argentine, or at least, Spanish native) We beat Chile 2 - 0 last Saturday, with two goals from Riquelme, who's had a 3-month rest due to Chilean coach Pellegrini not liking him Funny how Chile was the team that had to eat those two free kick shots We're up against Venezuela in an hour and a half...

^Over excited commentators are always funny (this is one of the best known examples over here(fair play to the guy. He can name more famous English people than I could name famous Norwegians)
Good luck against Venezuela |

The funny thing is, that's how Argentine commentators shout the goals. The few times I heard English or American commentators, I was certainly rather bored (though I haven't heard many so I my scope is terribly limited). Here's your typical Argentine commentator on the same goal... though that guy is my most hated one, I can't find the one I like on Youtube...
