That is correct. Unless we return to the schedule of having the new chapters come out on Saturday (which I doubt will happen after the sting that happened a few months ago), there's no chapter of Negima this week.

I see Fate, Tsukuyomi, and a shadow mage.

Fate's attacks are constantly blocked, but in the end, he finished what he came here to do.

Chapter 186: Negi and his crew arrive at Magic Country. While Chisame, Chachamaru are busy looking admiring the Magic Country skyline, the rest, while clearing their weapons, are faced with two problems:

1. The Sports Girls have somehow sneaked into the gateway;
2. Fate, realizing that Negi is sensing his presence, drives a stone spear right through his his right ribs.

Chapter 187: Basic chapter in which Fate reveals himself and his crew are introduced (setting up their fight for later in the arc).

Downtime period is an understatement: the events of chapter 189 suggests that we're starting another "Eight Days Later" type arc that, unless it results in either showing some new techniques for the White Wings or Pactios with at least one Sports girl, will end up providing unneccessary padding to the story.

...and people wonder why Fate is my least-favorite character in Negima.

I'd be more surprised if the Sports Girls don't all make Pactios with Negi at this point. They're miles from civilisation, and Negi obviously wants to catch up to Fate and tangle with him again; sending the stowaways home isn't an option anymore, so they - and the rest of the party - will be safer with a bit more power behind them.

At any rate, I hope everyone at least got broken up into interesting combinations; if all we're getting is dialogue, it had better be entertaining.

Just read ch 188, and the story is moving on a direction I totally didn't expect. It will be nice to see Chachamaru get some quality time.
