I'm guessing Hibito is in Russia, but we'll see.

I do wish they kept the Corvette that they were driving in the first season. The car Mutta drives in this episode looks too generically "ultramodern," though it does look a bit like Vince's ride. Same brand and model?

I never really thought about it until now, but is there a running joke about name order? Vince and Butler call Mutta "Mr. Mutta," not "Mr. Nanba," while Mutta refers to Vince as "Vince-san." I've heard the latter in anime before, so I'm guessing that "first_name-san" is a common Japanese colloquialism. Other than "Mr. Bill," referring to someone as "Mr. first_name" is not very common in the US. Are we supposed to think they don't know any better, or is this a joke?

Parts of Mutta's & Hibito's childhood.
Mutta was obviously concerned about Hibito.
Hibito was dealing with it in his own way.
The situation is not looking good.
Well, kinda uneventful episode.

Funny, I was wondering the same thing myself while watching this episode. I thought that maybe they call Mutta that so as to not confuse him with Hibito (they're both Mr. Nanba after all!), but it's probably more likely the author is ignorant of western customs..

Caught up...

--Nice to see that Kenji and Nitta are getting nice ends. Now if only Mutta can admit to Serika that he likes her...

--I freakin' love the Nanba parents. They are too adorable and hilarious!

--That was a complete surprise with Hibito.....though I can't seriously help think that this show's not going to end on a dark note with Hibito and Mutta NOT being on the moon...I'd be shocked actually if it ended badly.

--Yeah I think Hibito's in Russia. Hooking up with Olga.

So it looks like the Hibbit show is finally over, on a weird space rabbit finale?

Hibito bailing suggest that he really doesn't think he'll win this fight; it kinda burns his bridges if it looks like he left in a huff. (Assuming that Gates gets wind of his absence.)

It was nice to see Mutta getting worked up over Hibito's situation, but no matter how emotionally distressed he is I can't agree with Hibito going back to space. I would have done the same in Gates' shoes.

Overall though another boring episode. Halfway through and I was beginning to question whether the episode was a waste of time.

It ends next week. Kind of a shame they couldn't reach 100 episodes.

Although the quality of the show has decreased quite a bit over its run, I'm still going to miss it.

Surprised they're ending on 99 rather than 100, but hopefully they'll leave it at a good point and not leave us hanging over what Hibito's up to.

Yeah, the show's made a few mis-steps in its second year, but it'll seem a bit weird not watching it each week.

It's seriously ending next week? First I've heard of this. How far has it gotten through the manga?

They ended this the best way possible, given that the manga is still on-going. Both Mutta and Hibito are still working toward their dream.

Bringing back Feel so Moon was a nice touch. See you on the moon!

It was difficult watching Mutta's frustration.
Hibito's situation was hitting him hard.
Nitta helped a bit, but Hibito's message was bitter-sweet.
Skipping ahead was definitely a good idea.
At least we got to see someone go to the moon ^^
Not the ending we were hoping for, but there is still much room to continue it.

It is going on hiatus accord to the Space Brothers' twitter. They had to pause it in order to allow manga to produce more stuff or volumes for the anime show to follow.

I'll miss this show too, for sure. When I first got caught up a little over a year ago, this was one of the most inspiring anime I had ever seen. It was hard to remain consistent at such a high level throughout a pretty long run of episodes, but even during the weakest arcs, this was still a show I looked forward to watching every weekend. Hopefully it comes back soon.

I think Hibito going to Russia is pretty much confirmation that the brothers will be standing on the moon together at some point (the end?) of the series.

Goddamn, I'm actually crying a little that this show is over. I'll miss the Nanbas.

And I notice that this was left open-ended so I'm guessing that this is coming back at some point....
