Hours later...

Lina looked up as the door to the cafe opened up. "Yes, may I..." She trailed off, smiling as she saw who it was. "Caro! Erio!" She walked around the counter and hugged the young girl as Caro ran to her. "How are you two?"

"Grandma!" Caro smiled brightly as Erio stood behind her, smiling and nodding at Lina. "We're fine," Caro hugged Lina as tight as she could, "missed you."

"Missed you too." Lina looked at Erio and shook her head. "Wow, you've gotten tall. If we're not careful, you'll be a giant soon." She laughed as Caro pulled away and pouted. "Don't worry, Caro, you're cute as you are."

"But Erio keeps stealing my height, grandma, he won't give it back!" Caro stomped her foot on the floor as she sulked, getting a soft laugh from Lina. "What?"

"Did you know that before I married Shiro, I was pretty short too?" Lina smiled at Caro, who blinked at her in confusion. "So, don't worry about it, I'm sure that you'll grow just fine in a couple of years. Besides, Vita was as small as you are when she was your age, look at her now."

Erio sweat-dropped as a sudden image of Caro popped into his mind. What was so odd about it was that she was as tall as Signum, but her breasts were nowhere near as big as the sword woman's breasts were. 'Where the heck did that come from?' He wondered to himself.

"So, you two are in town for a few months again?" Lina asked, getting a nod from the two of them as she led them to a booth in the corner. "That's good. Anything interesting happen while you were watching the animals?"

They both shrugged as they talked about a few poachers that tried to get in, some of the weirder things they had seen animals do and some minor stuff.

"The really dangerous part is trying to herd the animals when they want to mate with each other." Caro said, shivering slightly. "You wouldn't believe how mean they can get when that happens." She pouted when Lina laughed at her. "You knew?"

"I've been around farm animals, dragons and other creatures during mating season, Caro, I've seen what they can do when they're trying to impress mates." Lina waved her hand at her grandchildren. "So, what are your plans right now?"

"Nothing really." Erio answered and looked at Caro, who shrugged. "Probably just going to spend some time here not doing much."

"That reminds me," Lina gave the two an annoyed look. "The last few times you two were back, you spent the entire time meeting with people in the Bureau, didn't you?"

Erio sighed at the look he was getting. "Sorry, grandma, but we needed to meet people, test equipment and other stuff. Ugh, it wasn't any fun for us either."

"Well, I hope you plan on coming in more than once every three months, kiddo." Lina smirked as she stood up. "I missed you two."

Genya blinked as he walked into his office. "Good morning." He had to admit, it wasn't too often that someone was in his office when he wasn't. Even more surprising was the fact that the young woman in his office was using his office computer. "I'd ask what you're doing, but considering that you're an Enforcer..."

"Enforcer's Aide," the woman corrected and stood up, "my apologies, Major Nakajima, I needed to do some searching on some information on a case I'm assigned to." When he raised an eyebrow, she cleared her throat, "If you must know, I used your computer because it was more secure than a public one, and you have high enough clearance for me to look up certain pieces of information."

"Two things," Genya held up two fingers, "one, why didn't you use the Enforcer computers or get your partner to give you clearance if that's all you needed? And two, you have me at a disadvantage, what's your name?"

"Oh," she blinked several times, "my name is Runessa Magnus. As for why, this isn't anything official in my searches yet and may be completely pointless. However, if it does lead to something, I wish to keep it private."

"You could have just asked if that was the case." Genya rolled his eyes. Children were too impatient at times. But he remembered who she was now, Teana had mentioned her name a few times in the past couple of months as being her aide. "You're lucky I'm far more easy going than most people around here." He walked over to his desk as Runessa got out of the chair. "Next time, just ask."

She nodded and turned to walk away. "If you must know, I did find what I was looking for."

After she was gone, Genya narrowed his eyes as he brought up his computer's history. The girl was good, she managed to erase almost all traces of what she did on the computer. 'Still...' He pulled up a vid phone and made a call. It wouldn't do to have the girl go without suffering some consequences, now would it?

Later...

Teana, in her Enforcer outfit, narrowed her eyes at Runessa. "Of all the bone-headed, idiotic, stupid stunts to pull, this has to be near the top of the list!" The two were in Teana's office and Teana was glad that Runessa was looking ashamed for what she did. "Do you have any idea what your stunt looks like to our superiors?"

"Well..." Runessa began, but was cut off by Teana.

"It makes you look like someone who doesn't bother with authority, it makes me look like I don't care about the rules and worst of all," Teana took a deep breath to try and keep her temper down, "I respect Genya Nakajima deeply. He's almost like a father to me and you do that? Do you have any idea how hard it's going to be to look him in the eye later?"

"Would it help if I said that I might have a lead in our case?" Runessa said softly and waited for Teana to motion for her to continue. "I found some bits of information at all the murder sites that I didn't think much of. But, as you've told me, never over-look anything."

"And what did you find?" Teana asked, annoyance was still in her voice, but if this proved to be useful in solving the murders, she might be able to give what Runessa did a good spin later.

"A name, Tredia Graze, keeps coming up. I was using Genya Nakajima's computer to find out more about the man, but all I found was a foot note about a scientist."

Teana cupped her chin and thought about it. "This isn't over. Until this investigation is over, you aren't allowed to do any information searching without at least contacting me, got it?"

Runessa nodded and left the office. '...That went as well as could be expected.' Runessa thought to herself.

Still, it wasn't anything compared to what was coming.

Inside her office, Teana took a deep breath to try and calm herself down. 'Dammit, Rune, you're usually smarter than that.' At least Genya had called her and not her superiors. It would have been a mess otherwise.

Still, she had a name now, and as for scientists... "I suppose I should give Mary a call." The older woman scared her though. "Then again..." The thought of having to deal with Shari somehow seemed a lot worse.

Pulling out Cross Mirage, she made a call to Mary and sighed as she came up on the screen, looking a bit frazzled and dirty. "Hey, Mary..."

"Teana!" Mary smiled brightly at her. "How are you doing? I've been working on some new types of cartridges. You want to bring Cross Mirage over later? I might be able to give you something even more impressive than what you've got now."

Teana sweat-dropped heavily. "Well, that is, ah..."

"Oh, wait, before that, remember those Unison Devices we put into stasis almost three years ago?" Mary asked before Teana could answer. "Well, I think we can give one to a host now, we've managed to get their bodies from falling apart to just barely alive. Granted, it's not much of an improvement, but they won't turn to dust in only a few seconds like that one did and..."

"Mary!" Teana yelled, trying to get the woman to calm down. "I was wondering if you knew someone by the name of Tredia Graze or not?"

Mary blinked and closed her eyes in thought. "Graze? I think I heard of that name once before. But he wasn't a reputable scientist from what I recall... Hmm... It's too bad Jail's dead, if anyone would know, it would have been him."

Teana blinked several times. "Wait, there's someone who might know, thanks Mary."

"No problem," Mary smiled, but blinked at Teana, "you never answered my question."

"Call me back in a week," Teana hung up and made another call, even if Jail wasn't around, there was one person who would have an idea about who Tredia Graze was."

Due blinked as she looked at the screen. "Tredia Graze? Sounds familiar... Graze, Graze..." Her eyes widened as an image came to her mind. "Oh yeah! That dead guy!" She snapped her fingers as the memory of what happened came to her fully.

"Huh?" Teana blinked at Due. "What do you mean?"

"Well, the guy came to the Doctor with some sort of dead body that he called a Mariage. It didn't look dead, I admit, but it wasn't alive." Due waved her hand dismissively. "Anyway, he said he wanted to join the Doctor to show Mid-Childa some real terror. The Doctor turned him down though, last I heard Graze had been trying to make more of those Mariages before they decided to eat him or something."

Teana turned pale as Due raised her hands up and wiggled her fingers. "They're all dead, zombies, if you will. I don't know much about them, Un-nee took care of research and I wasn't too interested." Lowering her arms, Due crossed her arms over her breasts and closed her eyes in thought. "Though, Mariage sounds kind of..."

"It means Marionette." A male voice spoke up and Due turned around to see Zest walk into the room. "I admit, it doesn't sound like Ancient Belkan though. It was from a minor dialect from what I can recall."

"How do you..?" Due asked as Zest smirked at her and held up a rather thick book. "...Light reading?"

"I like to read about Ancient Belka at times." Zest looked at Teana. "I wish I could help you some more, but there's not much information here. Although, if you're dealing with the dead, like Due suggests..."

Due snorted. "What? That book actually has something on the land of the dead?"

Zest shook his head. "No, but it mentions the three most famous rulers from Ancient Belka. There was the Saint Kaiser, the Hegemon Emperor and the Dark Ruler of the Underworld Ixpellia." He shrugged at the looks he was getting. "That last one is one of the many translations for that king's name. Considering that the Saint Kaiser was a woman, you should know that the titles really don't mean anything."

Teana closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Thanks, I'll look into this more." With that, she turned the screen off.

Due looked at Zest with a smirk on her face. "So, why did you have that book?"

He snorted at her. "Lutecia was studying up on some Ancient Belkan before Megane asked her to help make some snacks for later, and I always found history interesting." He blinked when Due was gone and mentally groaned. He never should have mentioned that they were baking.

Oh well, even if the kitchen wouldn't survive, at least there would be some good food out of it.

Me: Scenes like a small reunion between grandparents and their children never fails to give this arc some nicer colors...

Odin: Agreed.

Triela: *Glares* What are you dummies looking at?

Me: first from Endless Frontier, now from Gunslinger Girls, who's next?

It was late at night when Teana was jolted awake by Cross Mirage. "What's going on?"

"An emergency call."

Teana's eyes widened and the sleepiness she was feeling was washed away in an instant as she sat up, her blanket falling down and revealing her topless form. If anyone would ask, she had locked her door to keep Subaru from finding out, plus it was so hot that she could only sleep comfortably in her panties and nothing else. "What's going on?"

"Fire at a nearby hotel, Subaru, Nove and Ginga have also been informed and are on their way to minimize damages."

Teana narrowed her eyes as she threw on some clothes before grabbing Cross Mirage, transforming and rushing out of the room. Even if she could make magic clothes, she wanted to make sure that she had something to transform back into when she canceled her transformation.

It wouldn't do to cancel her transformation and end up naked in the street after all.

The Mariage walked through the fire, ignoring how it roared around her as she approached a man in sleep wear who was cowering in the corner. "Bell Matera, you should know the location of Ix."

The balding man looked at the Mariage and gulped. He didn't know what an Ix was, but he remembered what these things were. "Ix? What's Ix? I don't know any..."

"Ix is our king, you worked with Tredia Graze several years ago."

"Graze?" Bell blinked and stared at the Mariage. "That old bastard? He cut ties off years ago, but suddenly contacts me a couple of months ago. And he contacted me a week ago, from some place near here. I'm not sure what he wanted, he just called saying he wanted a confirmation on me being on Mid-Childa." Sweating heavily, he pointed at the table. "My personal terminal, the call data's still there. If anyone knows where Ix is, it's him."

The Mariage turned to look at the table and walked over, pushing several buttons and nodding as call data came up. "Sector K267. Very well, goodbye." She turned and left the room silently.

"I... I'm alive?" Bell patted himself and started chuckling. "Heh heh heh, yes, I'm..." He trailed off as his eyes widened. "GAH! NO! STOP!" He trembled and stumbled backwards as he saw several Mariage appear in front of him, their visors glowing as they walked up to him slowly. "Leave me alone! HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!"

Subaru grunted as she rushed through the burning hallways, looking for anyone who was inside the hotel. "Is anyone..."

"SOMEONE HELP ME!" A male voice was heard coming from a room around the corner. Narrowing her eyes, Subaru broke into the room and blinked as she saw a middle-aged man pressing himself against the glass. "STOP! NO! HELP!"

"Calm down," Subaru held her hands up and slowly moved towards him, "the fire's getting to you, I'll cast a freezing spell to put it out, but you need to calm..."

"STAY AWAY!" The man screamed as he grabbed a lamp and swung it around at the air in front of him before finally hitting the glass window, shattering it and spraying glass everywhere. "No... Stay back."

"Hey! Careful!" Subaru rushed towards the man, her eyes wide when he grabbed a shard of glass and stabbed himself in the throat. "Wh...Why?"

The man was grinning even as blood pooled out of his mouth and throat while he stumbled backwards and fell over the edge of the balcony. Subaru rushed to the edge and stared in mute horror as the man was already on the pavement, three stories down and quite dead.

Ginga looked at Nove as they came across five identical woman and at least twenty dead bodies around them. "This is bad." Ginga muttered as she slid into a defensive stance. "Any ideas?"

"Not really," Nove muttered, not knowing that these were the murderers that Teana was hunting down in her current case. Even if she did know about that fact, what happened next was shocking to both of the Nakajimas.

"What the..?" Ginga and Nove both stared, their eyes wide as the dead bodies suddenly and slowly stood up, their forms morphing and twisting, turning into identical copies of the five women in front of them. "...Oh crap."

One of the women pointed her arm at the two and the twenty new Mariage changed their arms into blades and rushed at them.

"Well, what now?" Nove asked as she and Ginga slid back to give themselves room against these things.

"They were dead, right?" Ginga pointed out as they jumped away from each other. "That means we probably don't have to hold back! Blitz Calibur!"

"Protection."

Ginga shuddered as she felt the blade slash against her barrier. Her eyes widened as a second slash not only was enough to make her barrier shudder, but also crack, a third slash cut through completely. "Holy!" A quick sphere of energy formed in her hands before she punched forward, blowing the Mariage's head clean off. "Nove! Be careful!"

"I figured that out!" Nove shouted back at Ginga as she dodged around several slashes and lashed out with a kick that connected with the Mariage's chest and sent it flying into another one, knocking them both to the ground easily.

"Enough of this." The one who was pointing at them said suddenly and disappeared from view, only to reappear inches away from Nove with its sword arm stabbing forward at the redhead's throat. Nove's amber eyes were wide in shock, she couldn't believe how dangerous these things were. Everything seemed to move in slow motion, Nove's reactions, the sword arm coming right at her throat, and even Ginga's reactions all seemed to be in slow motion.

The next thing Nove knew, there was a familiar looking knife lodged in the forehead of the Mariage that was trying to kill her, followed by several more along her body.

"Rumble Detonator." A familiar, and quite welcome, voice said as the knives suddenly exploded, sending shrapnel everywhere. Nove was thankful that she got her arms over her face in time and only had to deal with some cut up arms. "Nove, sorry it took so long." Nove turned her head to see Cinque in a white trench coat and blue suit, Wendi in a black body suit and Sette was wearing, of all things, a pair of jeans and a black shirt that seemed a bit tight around the chest. On Sette's shoulder was Mr. Snuggles.

"Never seen this before." Mr. Snuggles commented as several of the Mariage rushed at the four of them.

"Careful!" Ginga called out as she did a spin kick, knocking one Mariage off of its feet before crying out in pain as another stabbed her still extended leg. "Gah!"

"Die." The one that stabbed her said calmly as it turned its other arm into a sword and stabbed at Ginga's throat.

Ginga's eyes widened as the blade was intercepted by another blade and the one in her leg was cut off, freeing her.

"You should take me on instead." Sette said, her eyes narrowed as several pink beams surrounded her, striking at various Mariage that were trying to get close to her from behind. "My thanks, Wendi." Using her superior strength, Sette pushed the Mariage away, causing the masked woman's arm to fly upwards before Sette slashed at the Mariage, cutting its head off easily.

Wendi just grinned as she ran in and pulled Ginga out of the area. "Nove, cut loose!"

"You don't need to tell me twice." Nove let out a grunt as she grabbed her Gun Knuckle and changed the setting on it. "Now... TAKE THIS!" She screamed as she swung her bloody arms at the Mariages and fired an ice-cold blast at them, the cloud covering and freezing them solid.

As the cold vapor subsided, Mr. Snuggles jumped up to one of the frozen Mariages, extending its claws and cutting through its neck with ease. Combined with Sette's blades shattering the bodies and Cinque using her throwing knives to destroy the rest, it wasn't long before there was only four of the Mariages left.

"Impressive." One of the four remaining Mariages said as the bodies fell to the floor. "Too bad though."

Ginga's eyes widened as her nose was assaulted with a rather strong scent. "Watch out!" Her warning came in time as Sette, Mr. Snuggles and Nove all got clear of the sudden exploding dead bodies. Not only did the bodies explode, but the remains erupted into flames that were so hot that her skin was nearly burning from being near it, and she was the furthest one away from the fire.

"You are fast, aren't you?" Nove's amber eyes widened as a familiar voice said as a Mariage appeared out of thin air and stabbed upwards at Nove's right arm, a sickening squelching sound was heard moments before a crackling metal sound filled the air. "Not fast enough, that device on your arms is dangerous though."

Nove let out a soundless scream as the Mariage stabbed upwards with her other sword arm, piercing her left arm at the wrist and causing the short redhead to fall to her knees as the shock and pain of the sudden attack hit her brain.

"Nove!" Wendi let out a yell as she fired several pink blasts at the Mariage, who pulled her blades out of Nove's arms, letting them bleed freely, and disappeared. "Nove!" Wendi ran up to the shorter redhead and gasped as she saw the damage done. "Hold on." Grabbing Nove's ruined equipment, Wendi ripped it off of Nove's arms before putting her hands over the wounds. "This is going to hurt, okay?"

"Hurt, hoOOOOAAAAAHHHH!" Nove let out a scream of sheer pain as Wendi's hands erupted into fire, the heat from her hands was almost enough to make her black out, especially as she could feel her skin being seared shut from the fire.

"Sorry." Wendi apologized as she moved her hands from the underside of Nove's arms and grabbed the top, making sure to get the hole closed as fast as possible. "We'll get you to a doctor, just don't pass out."

Nove would have answered, but she was currently laying on her side, grabbing at her wrists to try and get the pain to go away. Wendi winced as she heard Nove's cries of pain. "Come on, Nove, we'll..."

"Die." A soft female voice spoke up and Wendi turned, her eyes wide as one of the Mariages had her arm pointed at the two of them, her arm was in the shape of a cannon.

There was a blur and the cannon shot was knocked off target, causing the shot to hit the ground near Wendi. "I think that you'll have to deal with me now." Mr. Snuggles said as he stood to his full height of a foot and a half to face the Mariage down.

"You can die first." The Mariage said, aiming her cannon arm at the cat, only to find the cat wasn't there anymore.

"Where were you aiming?" Mr. Snuggles asked, whispering to the Mariage from his new position on her shoulders. Turning her head, the last thing the Mariage saw was three sharp claw blades penetrating her skull through her visor and causing her body to twitch and fall to the ground, all life in the body spent.

Mr. Snuggles snorted and looked over to see Sette finishing off her opponent while the last Mariage, this one with blood on her arms, looked at the advancing Cinque before nodding.

"Impressive, you managed to destroy twenty freshly created Mariage." The Mariage nodded to the group. "However, can you defeat an army of thousands of Mariage?"

Everyone except for Nove stared in shock at that. "We shall find Ix, and then we shall continue our mission."

Cinque took a step back as she saw the body suddenly changed into some black ink-like substance as her form fell apart while she turned into a puddle of something. "What the hell?"

A moment later, the liquid puddle exploded, knocking Cinque off of her feet from the violence of the explosion.

"These things are made up of some explosive and flammable substance." Sette said as she narrowed her eyes. "Killing them does not stop them from being dangerous."

Before anyone could answer her, there was another explosion, this one from on top of the burning hotel.

"Now what?" Ginga asked softly as Cinque ordered Wendi to get her and Nove to a healer. Ginga only hoped that Subaru and Teana weren't as bad off as she and Nove were at that moment.

"Not really," Nove muttered, not knowing that these were the murderers that Teana was hunting down in her current case. Even if she did know about that fact, what happened next was shocking to both of the Nakajimas.

"What the..?" Ginga and Nove both stared, their eyes wide as the dead bodies suddenly and slowly stood up, their forms morphing and twisting, turning into identical copies of the five women in front of them. "...Oh crap."

One of the women pointed her arm at the two and the twenty new Mariage changed their arms into blades and rushed at them.

"Well, what now?" Nove asked as she and Ginga slid back to give themselves room against these things.

"They were dead, right?" Ginga pointed out as they jumped away from each other. "That means we probably don't have to hold back! Blitz Calibur!"

"Protection."

Ginga shuddered as she felt the blade slash against her barrier. Her eyes widened as a second slash not only was enough to make her barrier shudder, but also crack, a third slash cut through completely. "Holy!" A quick sphere of energy formed in her hands before she punched forward, blowing the Mariage's head clean off. "Nove! Be careful!"

"I figured that out!" Nove shouted back at Ginga as she dodged around several slashes and lashed out with a kick that connected with the Mariage's chest and sent it flying into another one, knocking them both to the ground easily.

"Enough of this." The one who was pointing at them said suddenly and disappeared from view, only to reappear inches away from Nove with its sword arm stabbing forward at the redhead's throat. Nove's amber eyes were wide in shock, she couldn't believe how dangerous these things were. Everything seemed to move in slow motion, Nove's reactions, the sword arm coming right at her throat, and even Ginga's reactions all seemed to be in slow motion.

The next thing Nove knew, there was a familiar looking knife lodged in the forehead of the Mariage that was trying to kill her, followed by several more along her body.

"Rumble Detonator." A familiar, and quite welcome, voice said as the knives suddenly exploded, sending shrapnel everywhere. Nove was thankful that she got her arms over her face in time and only had to deal with some cut up arms. "Nove, sorry it took so long." Nove turned her head to see Cinque in a white trench coat and blue suit, Wendi in a black body suit and Sette was wearing, of all things, a pair of jeans and a black shirt that seemed a bit tight around the chest. On Sette's shoulder was Mr. Snuggles.

"Never seen this before." Mr. Snuggles commented as several of the Mariage rushed at the four of them.

"Careful!" Ginga called out as she did a spin kick, knocking one Mariage off of its feet before crying out in pain as another stabbed her still extended leg. "Gah!"

"Die." The one that stabbed her said calmly as it turned its other arm into a sword and stabbed at Ginga's throat.

Ginga's eyes widened as the blade was intercepted by another blade and the one in her leg was cut off, freeing her.

"You should take me on instead." Sette said, her eyes narrowed as several pink beams surrounded her, striking at various Mariage that were trying to get close to her from behind. "My thanks, Wendi." Using her superior strength, Sette pushed the Mariage away, causing the masked woman's arm to fly upwards before Sette slashed at the Mariage, cutting its head off easily.

Wendi just grinned as she ran in and pulled Ginga out of the area. "Nove, cut loose!"

"You don't need to tell me twice." Nove let out a grunt as she grabbed her Gun Knuckle and changed the setting on it. "Now... TAKE THIS!" She screamed as she swung her bloody arms at the Mariages and fired an ice-cold blast at them, the cloud covering and freezing them solid.

As the cold vapor subsided, Mr. Snuggles jumped up to one of the frozen Mariages, extending its claws and cutting through its neck with ease. Combined with Sette's blades shattering the bodies and Cinque using her throwing knives to destroy the rest, it wasn't long before there was only four of the Mariages left.

"Impressive." One of the four remaining Mariages said as the bodies fell to the floor. "Too bad though."

Ginga's eyes widened as her nose was assaulted with a rather strong scent. "Watch out!" Her warning came in time as Sette, Mr. Snuggles and Nove all got clear of the sudden exploding dead bodies. Not only did the bodies explode, but the remains erupted into flames that were so hot that her skin was nearly burning from being near it, and she was the furthest one away from the fire.

"You are fast, aren't you?" Nove's amber eyes widened as a familiar voice said as a Mariage appeared out of thin air and stabbed upwards at Nove's right arm, a sickening squelching sound was heard moments before a crackling metal sound filled the air. "Not fast enough, that device on your arms is dangerous though."

Nove let out a soundless scream as the Mariage stabbed upwards with her other sword arm, piercing her left arm at the wrist and causing the short redhead to fall to her knees as the shock and pain of the sudden attack hit her brain.

"Nove!" Wendi let out a yell as she fired several pink blasts at the Mariage, who pulled her blades out of Nove's arms, letting them bleed freely, and disappeared. "Nove!" Wendi ran up to the shorter redhead and gasped as she saw the damage done. "Hold on." Grabbing Nove's ruined equipment, Wendi ripped it off of Nove's arms before putting her hands over the wounds. "This is going to hurt, okay?"

"Hurt, hoOOOOAAAAAHHHH!" Nove let out a scream of sheer pain as Wendi's hands erupted into fire, the heat from her hands was almost enough to make her black out, especially as she could feel her skin being seared shut from the fire.

"Sorry." Wendi apologized as she moved her hands from the underside of Nove's arms and grabbed the top, making sure to get the hole closed as fast as possible. "We'll get you to a doctor, just don't pass out."

Nove would have answered, but she was currently laying on her side, grabbing at her wrists to try and get the pain to go away. Wendi winced as she heard Nove's cries of pain. "Come on, Nove, we'll..."

"Die." A soft female voice spoke up and Wendi turned, her eyes wide as one of the Mariages had her arm pointed at the two of them, her arm was in the shape of a cannon.

There was a blur and the cannon shot was knocked off target, causing the shot to hit the ground near Wendi. "I think that you'll have to deal with me now." Mr. Snuggles said as he stood to his full height of a foot and a half to face the Mariage down.

"You can die first." The Mariage said, aiming her cannon arm at the cat, only to find the cat wasn't there anymore.

"Where were you aiming?" Mr. Snuggles asked, whispering to the Mariage from his new position on her shoulders. Turning her head, the last thing the Mariage saw was three sharp claw blades penetrating her skull through her visor and causing her body to twitch and fall to the ground, all life in the body spent.

Mr. Snuggles snorted and looked over to see Sette finishing off her opponent while the last Mariage, this one with blood on her arms, looked at the advancing Cinque before nodding.

"Impressive, you managed to destroy twenty freshly created Mariage." The Mariage nodded to the group. "However, can you defeat an army of thousands of Mariage?"

Everyone except for Nove stared in shock at that. "We shall find Ix, and then we shall continue our mission."

Cinque took a step back as she saw the body suddenly changed into some black ink-like substance as her form fell apart while she turned into a puddle of something. "What the hell?"

A moment later, the liquid puddle exploded, knocking Cinque off of her feet from the violence of the explosion.

"These things are made up of some explosive and flammable substance." Sette said as she narrowed her eyes. "Killing them does not stop them from being dangerous."

Before anyone could answer her, there was another explosion, this one from on top of the burning hotel.

"Now what?" Ginga asked softly as Cinque ordered Wendi to get her and Nove to a healer. Ginga only hoped that Subaru and Teana weren't as bad off as she and Nove were at that moment.

Me: Ouch! Looks like Signum's not the only one will be having a replacement limb.

Elane: They're soooo fast.... i'm dizzy!

Odin: Welcome to Zombie apocalypse! Please bring you own personal weapons and firearms, medic kits and supplies. you'll definitely need them.

Elane: Dizzy!!!!

Me: *Looks at Xiaomu* Figures she'll say that.

Mariemeia: Too bad their best weapon is not in town.

"Dad, I'm here." In the quiet graveyard stood a single figure as he knelt down in front of a grave which read, 'Nagato Aora'.

"Watch, set up." Watch's knobs rotated outwards in an anti-clockwise direction. Kiran's civilian clothes changed into a black top and dark blue pants and a jacket materialised. He then draped the jacket around the grave and placed Watch in front of the grave.

"They're the first two you gave me, and the last two that ever saw you again." He couldn't remember what else he was wearing that night or he would have added them as well. "Although I had them modified, they still look like the original. I hope you will pardon my five minutes of weakness." A tear nearly formed in Kiran's eye but he blinked it off. From that incident, he swore never to cry again, no matter the emotion.

At ten thirty in the morning Kiran took the two items back and Watch went back into standby mode. He started to walk back into town when Watch started to beep. A video chat from Lat Cartos was received.

"Sir, did something crop up which requires me back?"

"I see you know the motive for direct messages now. Riot force six has discovered something which may be a breakthrough for Ginga's current case. The situation has turned red, so I want you to work on it with her. Ginga is already heading to their position. I will forward their plan of travel. I want you to go in the opposite direction, from end to start, to catch up with them as soon as possible."

"Yes sir. Is there anything else?"

"Yes, you have permission for flight the city to get to them. Cartos out."

"I don't really fly… Watch, set up." After his jacket materialised, shards of ice grew on his feet until they were completely encased in ice.

"Water jets." The shoe-like case fired a jet of water into the ground. The pressure was so great that it propelled Kiran across the graveyard, firing another jet when he touched the ground. Watch estimated the time of arrival and Kiran almost laughed when he saw it.

"To think that it took me one and a half times as long to get here via public transport…"

"I've found it!" Caro went over to take the metal case, unaware of the four energy spheres heading towards her. When she finally noticed them, she dodged clumsily, dropping the case. Lutecia then picked up the case as Garyuu and Erio engaged in combat.

"You're in the way," Lutecia said as she fired a burst of magic at Caro. She quickly put up a shield but it was broken, sending her flying towards Erio. Ginga then attacked Garyuu, allowing Subaru to confront Lutecia. When Lutecia ignored her, Teana took out her daggers and threatened her.

"Starling Howl!" Agito smashed a sphere of energy into the ground, letting lose a deafening sound and blinding light. Teana lost her grip on Lutecia, allowing her to gain some distance before Garyuu attacked Teana.

The sound of metal resounded though the air as Garyuu's foot collided with Kiran's ice sword. His other hand formed the ice cannon, driving it towards Garyuu as he stuck out his charged claw as well. The resulting explosion threw the three of them back as Teana fired a shot at Lutecia, only to have Garyuu block it.

"It's ok now Lulu, after all, I, Agito, the genius…"

"Ice shard." A shard of ice flew past Agito as she barely dodged it.

"Oi! I was talking here!" Kiran kept silent as Agito glared at him. She howled as purple flames started to erupt out of her hand, bombarding the battlefield. A resulting smokescreen allowed Garyuu to charge, engaging Ginga. The two forces caused another explosion, which Kiran jumped through, attempting to slam his ice cannon into Garyuu. Garyuu leapt back as the cannon drove a hole in the ground. Agito fired four highly charged flames, forcing them to take cover.

"Tea, what should we do?"

"Sub-commander Vita and Master Sergeant Rein are on their way here…"

"If we can hook up with them we can take them out right?" Teana gave a hmm of approval.

"Good reading of the situation you two." Subaru and Teana jerked their heads towards the voice, amazed that Rein could hear their telepathic conversation.

"Where are you right now?" Vita's voice came in. After receiving the coordinates of Lutecia, Garyuu and Agito, Graf Eisen turned into its giant form and smashed through the ceiling of the tunnel below. Rein emerged from the smoke, encasing Lutecia and Agito in a glacier while Vita made quick work of Garyuu. She went to inspect him and her eyes widened.

"They escaped?" A hole to the surface was left in the wall Garyuu was smashed into while Lutecia and Agito completely disappeared from the inside of the glacier. The ground then shook violently, making them stumble around.

"Subaru!"

"Yes, Sub-commander Vita! Wing Road!" The pathway made its way to the surface, denting the road above.

"Subaru, you and Ginga take the lead. Rein and I will fly up last." They nodded and Subaru started to skate to the top, charging a revolver shoot to break through. As Ginga followed her she dug into her pocket and took out a small hemisphere, about the size of a headphone. She called Kiran and tossed it down to him.

"What is this?" he said as he looked dumbly at it.

"Consider it a gift from section six! We know that you don't really use magic so telepathy will not reach you. The rest of us have one similar in size which boosts our reach for long distances but that's beside the point. By placing it in your ear and pressing it, a telepathic link will be created, allowing you to mentally contact anybody in the device's database and vice versa, which is a lot faster than video chatting from Watch." Rein explained as she gave him a big smile.

"Oh, ok. Thank you." Kiran then placed it into his left ear then formed his water jets and soared to the surface. As he was traveling upwards he thought to himself, 'Amazing, I'm just posted here temporarily and they already increased my contact efficiency. Ground forces didn't care at all that I couldn't use telepathy... '

Lutecia noticed that the giant bug's work was done and was about to return it when metal chains started to restrain it. She looked up and saw Caro casting the spell as two Wing Roads appeared behind her with their casters riding them as Vita appeared in the middle. Agito then barely dodged a shot from Teana and fired back. Lutecia then summoned her daggers and shot them at the approaching front attackers.

Rein managed to surround Agito with ice daggers, causing her to stop moving and covered in binds by Rein. Lutecia landed on a bridge, too busy on the front attackers to notice a ball of lightning navigating towards her front while a blue stream bounced off a building to get behind her. She then saw Strada pointed at her chest while an ice sword was stopped sideways at her spine. Rein came closer and bound her was well.

"I don't like to do this; it's like beating up a little kid but… You're under arrest for using dangerous magic in the city and disrupting the duties of an officer." Vita said as she walked forward with Graf Eisen's butt under her arms.

"Lutecia and Agito got captured."

"Should I help them?"

"Please do." Quattro then turned to Dieci and informed her of what Uno just said. Dieci then took out the cloth, revealing a huge cannon.

"Influent Skill, Heavy Barrel," chanted Dieci as the cannon began to charge. The crosshairs were fixed on the helicopter with the girl in it.

Vita's eyes widened at what Lutecia just said. The next thing she knew was the explosion that engulfed the helicopter. She ran to Lutecia and grabbed her by the shoulders, screaming, "You've got people working with you right? Where are they?"

"Erio! There's something under you!" Ginga cried out as Sein appeared from under them and ripped the case out of Erio's hand. Kiran jetted towards the mid-air Sein and with the ice cannon in hand but reared back in shock when his hand just went through her. Teana then fired a bullet which also went through her and hit the ground as Sein disappeared into the concrete. Sein then returned and grabbed Lutecia, leaving in the same fashion. Vita tried to grab her but landed on the ground in failure.

"Long Arch, tell me the helicopter is fine!" Vita cried as she screamed into the communicator.

"Long Arch, Stars two. This is Stars one. I was close enough to save the helicopter!" Vita signed in relief as she then gave her report.

"We've totally failed here. The relic and the summoner got away. The forwards and the temps did just fine. It was my fault."

"Mine as well…" Rein admitted dejectedly. Ginga then motioned her elbow towards Subaru who nodded in understanding.

"Umm, sub-commander Vita?" She was greeted with Graf Eisen's tip as she hung her head.

"Sub-commander…"

"What? I'm in the middle of my report!"

"No, umm…"

"There was so much tension that we didn't have time to say it but…" Teana said as she raised her hand slightly.

"We sort of did a little something to the relic…" Vita and Rein gave a surprised look as Subaru and Teana laughed lightly. They continued to explain as Subaru took Caro's hat off and Teana switched off her illusion, revealing the flower on her head to be the relic.

"I see…" Vita said slowly as her jaw dropped.

Kiran and Ginga entered the computer room after returning from the battle when Watch beeped. Kiran looked at it and told Ginga that he had to see Lat Cartos. She nodded as he left.

"Sir? You wanted to see me?" he asked after gaining permission to enter.

"Yes, it's regarding your leave…"

"Sir, it doesn't matter. I'll get back to work immediately after this."

"Okay, but we will be refunding your leave after this case. You may leave now."

"Yes Sir."

Kiran then got back to his seat beside Ginga and started to type out his report. "What was it about?" she asked.

"Just about my leave."

After twenty minutes they were almost done with the reports and Ginga turned to Kiran and asked, "Hey, Subaru and the others have the night off for a good job and after this report we can go so I was thinking…"

"No thanks. Enjoy your time with your sister."

"Come on! Every time we have time to relax after putting in so much work you don't do anything with anyone? Just come with me and stop straining yourself for a night."

"Again, I'd rather not. You barely get any time with your sister now, just go and cherish the night." Ginga just sighed and left.

"Gin-nee!" Subaru cried as she ran over to hug her sister. Looking around, she asked where Kiran was.

"Aww, I wouldn't mind having another person…"

"It's not you, so far he's turned down all invites to non-working festivals."

"Then next time Subaru should ask him," said Teana as she swallowed her food.

"Why, Tea?"

"Because you can get very selfish at times. I'm sure that it can overpower him."

"Tea! That's so mean…" The two continued to argue as Ginga stifled a giggle.

Another Universe, Another End PT 2

"Head Librarian?" Hayate hesitantly stepped into the Infinity Library. The place look like it always does, and yet... it just doesn't feel the same.

"Commander Yagami?" A feminine voice called out from above. Looking up, Hayate saw Uno floating down. "You are here for the Caledfwlch case, correct?"

"Yes" Hayate replied.

"The info on the blade have already been collected, I just need to call my assistant to bring it over. Can you wait a while?"

"It's alright." Hayate sat down on one of the couch. As she did, she can't help but notice the glasses that Uno is wearing. She has seen the lavenderette wear them for a while, but now that she takes a closer look, they look kinda familiar.

"Thank you." Uno opened up a communication screen. After a few seconds, a blond woman appeared on the other side.

"Due, where are you?"

"Section B5" Due replied. "I'm rearranging a few things. It's something wrong?"

"Could you bring the data that we worked on yesterday? Commander Yagami is here to retrieve it."

"Sure. Hold on for a sec" The blond shrugged "Just finished anyway."

"Thank you." The line cut off at that point. Uno turned to Hayate. "Would you like something to drink, Commander?"

"No, thank you." Hayate shook her head.

"Very well. I apologize, but I must get back to work. There are a few more cases that need to be resolved today."The former Number bowed, before floating up, a few holoscreen appearing in front of her.

Silence followed. After a while, it became too much for Hayate. She wanted to talk, but she doesn’t know what to talk about. Fortunately, Due came in, holding what appeared to be a portable driver in her hand.

“Uno?” the blond called out “Here’s the data you asked.”

“Thank you Due. Give them to the Commander please.” The other woman inclined her head toward Hayate.

“Sure. Here you go.”Due plopped down on the couch next to Hayate, handing her the driver. “So how’s life treating you?”


“Its fine, I guess” Hayate smiled at the blond. Just then, she noticed something. “Hey, did you change your hairstyle?”

“Huh?” Due blinked, slightly floored by the sudden question.

“I mean, you usually let it flow, but you tied it up, right?” Hayate asked.

“Yeah, it kept getting in the way whenever I need to do some heavy works” Due shrugged.

Hayate nodded, but she can’t help but feel that it’s not the only reason Due did. After all, the style looked too similar to what he used to wear.

“How are your Knights doing?” Due’s question snapped Hayate out of her temporal trance.

“They’re doing fine, although Zafira is a bit fidgety these days. I’m guessing that he finally asked Arf out.” Hayate smiled at that. Seeing the big man pacing around the house muttering about café and ice creams is just too funny.

“Really? Well good for them.” Due then smirked “By the way… how’s the Admiral?”

“You mean Chrono?” Hayate tilted her head to one side in curiosity. She knew they knew each other, but why would Due ask about him? They weren’t that close to begin with.

“Did he finally ask that nun out?” Due’s question brought a grin to Hayate’s face.

“Rumors are going around that he did.” Hayate giggled. “Whenever someone asked, he would just deny it. But too quickly, in my opinion.”

“Good” the ponytailed blond chuckles “They’re pretty much perfect for each other.”

Hayate have to agree with that. Both Chrono and Carim are serious people by nature, but there are times where they can be very playful. Although where as the Admiral leans more toward the serious side, the Sister leans toward the latter.

“Due, can you help me up here?” Uno called out from above

“Sorry, gotta go.” The blond floated up to where her sister is, and begin collecting a large number of books from the shelves. Both of them descended, and Due put the stack on the table with a loud “thump”.

“Umm…” Hayate spoke up “If you don’t mind me asking, why do you need so many book?”

“We’re taking a short leave of absence.” Due replied for her sister, as the latter is now busy going through the books.

Hayate was about to ask why, then she remembered. A sad smile played upon her lips.

“It’s been 2 years already, huh?”
“Time flies” Due replied curtly. “If you excuse me, I need to help my sister, otherwise she might collapse again.”

“I’ll see you two tomorrow” Hayate waved to the two.

*****Next day*****

Hayate and the Wolkenritter descended from the ship. It has taken a few hours to travel from Mid Childa, so it was approaching noon when they arrived. Thankfully, their destination is no that far from the space airport, so it shouldn’t take much time to travel there.

Arriving at the graveyard, they were surprised when they saw Tre and Sette heading in the opposite direction. The two Numbers said nothing, merely acknowledging them and continuing on their way.

As they pass the gates, Hayate saw Uno and Due already there, the former praying while the latter seems to be talking to the gravestone. A soft smile appeared on Hayate’s lips. Memories from 2 years ago surfaced from her mind…

***** *****

“Idiot” It was almost whisper, and if it wasn’t for the fact there is nobody there, Hayate wasn’t sure she would have caugh it. Sneaking around, she saw the first two Numbers over at his grave.

“You f*cking idiot!” The blond screamed, punching the gravestone. “Why? Why the hell did you have to go and be all heroics? Why damn it!”

“Because it’s who he is, Due” Uno said. Her voice was calm, but Hayate was sure that she had caught the tiniest hint of grief in it.

“Idiot” Due collapsed, and even from her hiding spot, Hayate could tell the assassin was sobbing “I didn’t even tell him…”

Uno sat down and hugged her sister. The blond continued to cry, tears flowing from her eyes.

Silently, Hayate left the sisters. The images of the two cyborgs, one comforting her crying sister, would never left her memories.

After all, it was one of her friends that accidentaly did it…

“Commander Yagami?” Hayate blinked. She didn’t realized it, but apparently she walked all the way over here. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine” Hayate smiled at the purple haired woman. “Thank you for your concerns. If you don’t mind me asking, how long are you staying here.”

“2-3 days” Due replied. “After that, we’ll return to Mid Childa.”

“I see” Signum nodded. “Then I wish you the best”

“Thank you, Lieutenant” Uno nodded.

“So, wolf man…” Due smirked at Zafira’s direction. Said person tensed, knowing what was about to come. “Finally asked her out,eh? You sly dog you.”

“You should have seen him” Vita grinned “He was all red when he return home. Hell, even my outfit weren’t that red.”

“I though he had gotten sick.” Shamal chuckled. “I ordered him to go get some rest, and when he refused, I almost asked Lady Hayate to send him to the hospital.”

The group share a small laugh at Zafira’s sulking expression. Even Uno, the ever stoic one, was smiling slightly.

“Heh, now I really wanted to see that scene.” Suddenly, Due narrowed her eyes “… Excuse me, but I’m going over here for a sec”

The blond hurriedly left the group. Everyone was confused, until Hayate saw what was in Due’s eyesight.

“How are you, Due?” The bespectacled blond had asked when he sat down.

“I’m bored. Really bored” The blond replied lazily.

“Nothing interesting on the TV?”

“Nope.” The white clad blond paused, then smirked as an idea came to her “Why don’t you join me over here? You look like you could use some rest.”

Yuuno blushed a bit, but remained calm. “I’m fine, thanks. I’ll just stay over here.” The lackluster reaction was probably the first clue. Unfortunately, her dream self didn’t noticed it.

“Come on” Slowly, she crawled toward him, a seductive grin on her face. “I’m really lonely here without you you know.”

In retrospect, the fact that he didn’t say anything should have alerted her. Usually, he would have started to stammer and try to turn away by now.

“Just… lie down for a while.” Gently, she started to caress his face. “I’ll make all of your worries go away”

Then she leaned in for a kiss. It was just supposed to be a small peck on the lips to tease him. Unfortunately –or fortunately, she’s not really sure about that part- Yuuno kissed her back. What started as a chaste kiss turned into a battle for dominance, one which she surprisingly loss.

The next thing Due knew, Yuuno had somehow pinned her to the bed, his left hand keeping both of her hands above her head, his right hand now caressing her face.

“What the-“ Due squirmed under his body. This was not supposed to be happening. “Yuuno, what are you doing?”

“What?” The other blond smirked “I though you’re lonely? I’m just helping you, that’s all”

“That’s not … “ Due squeaked when his free hand start to wander. Then she felt another one joining its brother. She tried to move her hands, only to find that Yuuno had somehow managed to chain her to the bed with his Chain Bind.

“Not what?” He whispered into her ears. Due shuddered. His voice… it sounded… seductive.

“This isn’t like you, Yuuno! Stop-“ She stifled a gasp as one of his hand descend past her stomach.

“Stop what?” the librarian nibbled her ears, sucking her earlobe slightly.

“Y-y-you know w-what I-I’m talking about?” Due stuttered. It was getting harder for her to concentrate. At this rate, I’m not gonna make it…

“All you have to do…” Yuuno had move on to her neck, and was now nuzzling her hair “is ask”

By now, the librarian was massaging her backside with one hand, while the other works on her … personal spot. It was getting harder to resist

“Don’t… “Due whispered.

“Don’t what?” He was teasing her now, she know it. And yet…

“Don’t…” Due gulped “Don’t stop.”

“As you command, my lady.” What comes next would forever be claimed as “Best. Dream. Ever” for the Cyborg

And then she woke up, sweating heavily.

‘Gah’ Due groaned mentally ‘Why oh why did that happens?’

The former assassin continues to turn in her bed, unable to sleep due to the dream she just had.

***** Next day

“Good morning Due” Yuuno greeted as he enter, a puzzled look on his face. The guards have been acting funny that day. One was grinning like a shark, while the other, more stoic one, seems to be trying to keep his laughter in check.

“Yo.” Due stiffened, not daring to turn around. The memory of last night’s dream was still vivid in her mind.

“Due, what’s wrong?” Yuuno asked with a concerned tone. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine.” She replied stiffly.

Yuuno frowned. Walking around, he sat down in front of Due. “Are you sure?”
“I-I said I’m fine!” Due was really nervous, but thankfully she managed to hide it well.

Then she almost lost it when Yuuno leans in, their foreheads touching.

“Your temperature feels normal” Yuuno muttered to himself “So why is your face all red? Are you sure you’re not…Ow!”

Yuuno’s question was cut off when Due headbutted him. Then she grabbed the pillow and start hitting him with it.

“Ow! Hey, cut it out! Ow! That hurt, you know!”

“Shut up shut up shut up!”

“Ow ow ow! Okay, that’s it! Chain Bind!”

“H-h-hey, w-what the? L-l-let me g-go!” Due squeaked. This was starting to resemble her dreams waaaay too much.

“Not until you calm down.” Yuuno replied, massaging where Due had hit him with the pillow.

“T-this isn’t f-funny, you know!” Due shouted. “Le-ummmph!”

“Shhh, keep quiet!” the librarian whispered, clamping one hand over her mouth. “You don’t want…” Yuuno trailed off and blinked, as the former Number had apparently fainted.

----- Outside

“Ten bucks say that they’re doing it.”

“You do remember that we had to soundproof the room last night, right?’

First time writing this sort of scene, so please help me if there's any problem with it.

"Head Librarian?" Hayate hesitantly stepped into the Infinity Library. The place look like it always does, and yet... it just doesn't feel the same.

"Commander Yagami?" A feminine voice called out from above. Looking up, Hayate saw Uno floating down. "You are here for the Caledfwlch case, correct?"

"Yes" Hayate replied.

"The info on the blade have already been collected, I just need to call my assistant to bring it over. Can you wait a while?"

"It's alright." Hayate sat down on one of the couch. As she did, she can't help but notice the glasses that Uno is wearing. She has seen the lavenderette wear them for a while, but now that she takes a closer look, they look kinda familiar.

"Thank you." Uno opened up a communication screen. After a few seconds, a blond woman appeared on the other side.

"Due, where are you?"

"Section B5" Due replied. "I'm rearranging a few things. It's something wrong?"

"Could you bring the data that we worked on yesterday? Commander Yagami is here to retrieve it."

"Sure. Hold on for a sec" The blond shrugged "Just finished anyway."

"Thank you." The line cut off at that point. Uno turned to Hayate. "Would you like something to drink, Commander?"

"No, thank you." Hayate shook her head.

"Very well. I apologize, but I must get back to work. There are a few more cases that need to be resolved today."The former Number bowed, before floating up, a few holoscreen appearing in front of her.

Silence followed. After a while, it became too much for Hayate. She wanted to talk, but she doesn’t know what to talk about. Fortunately, Due came in, holding what appeared to be a portable driver in her hand.

“Uno?” the blond called out “Here’s the data you asked.”

“Thank you Due. Give them to the Commander please.” The other woman inclined her head toward Hayate.

“Sure. Here you go.”Due plopped down on the couch next to Hayate, handing her the driver. “So how’s life treating you?”


“Its fine, I guess” Hayate smiled at the blond. Just then, she noticed something. “Hey, did you change your hairstyle?”

“Huh?” Due blinked, slightly floored by the sudden question.

“I mean, you usually let it flow, but you tied it up, right?” Hayate asked.

“Yeah, it kept getting in the way whenever I need to do some heavy works” Due shrugged.

Hayate nodded, but she can’t help but feel that it’s not the only reason Due did. After all, the style looked too similar to what he used to wear.

“How are your Knights doing?” Due’s question snapped Hayate out of her temporal trance.

“They’re doing fine, although Zafira is a bit fidgety these days. I’m guessing that he finally asked Arf out.” Hayate smiled at that. Seeing the big man pacing around the house muttering about café and ice creams is just too funny.

“Really? Well good for them.” Due then smirked “By the way… how’s the Admiral?”

“You mean Chrono?” Hayate tilted her head to one side in curiosity. She knew they knew each other, but why would Due ask about him? They weren’t that close to begin with.

“Did he finally ask that nun out?” Due’s question brought a grin to Hayate’s face.

“Rumors are going around that he did.” Hayate giggled. “Whenever someone asked, he would just deny it. But too quickly, in my opinion.”

“Good” the ponytailed blond chuckles “They’re pretty much perfect for each other.”

Hayate have to agree with that. Both Chrono and Carim are serious people by nature, but there are times where they can be very playful. Although where as the Admiral leans more toward the serious side, the Sister leans toward the latter.

“Due, can you help me up here?” Uno called out from above

“Sorry, gotta go.” The blond floated up to where her sister is, and begin collecting a large number of books from the shelves. Both of them descended, and Due put the stack on the table with a loud “thump”.

“Umm…” Hayate spoke up “If you don’t mind me asking, why do you need so many book?”

“We’re taking a short leave of absence.” Due replied for her sister, as the latter is now busy going through the books.

Hayate was about to ask why, then she remembered. A sad smile played upon her lips.

“It’s been 2 years already, huh?”
“Time flies” Due replied curtly. “If you excuse me, I need to help my sister, otherwise she might collapse again.”

“I’ll see you two tomorrow” Hayate waved to the two.

*****Next day*****

Hayate and the Wolkenritter descended from the ship. It has taken a few hours to travel from Mid Childa, so it was approaching noon when they arrived. Thankfully, their destination is no that far from the space airport, so it shouldn’t take much time to travel there.

Arriving at the graveyard, they were surprised when they saw Tre and Sette heading in the opposite direction. The two Numbers said nothing, merely acknowledging them and continuing on their way.

As they pass the gates, Hayate saw Uno and Due already there, the former praying while the latter seems to be talking to the gravestone. A soft smile appeared on Hayate’s lips. Memories from 2 years ago surfaced from her mind…

“Idiot” It was almost whisper, and if it wasn’t for the fact there is nobody there, Hayate wasn’t sure she would have caugh it. Sneaking around, she saw the first two Numbers over at his grave.

“You f*cking idiot!” The blond screamed, punching the gravestone. “Why? Why the hell did you have to go and be all heroics? Why damn it!”

“Because it’s who he is, Due” Uno said. Her voice was calm, but Hayate was sure that she had caught the tiniest hint of grief in it.

“Idiot” Due collapsed, and even from her hiding spot, Hayate could tell the assassin was sobbing “I didn’t even tell him…”

Uno sat down and hugged her sister. The blond continued to cry, tears flowing from her eyes.

Silently, Hayate left the sisters. The images of the two cyborgs, one comforting her crying sister, would never left her memories.

After all, it was one of her friends that accidentaly did it…

“Commander Yagami?” Hayate blinked. She didn’t realized it, but apparently she walked all the way over here. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine” Hayate smiled at the purple haired woman. “Thank you for your concerns. If you don’t mind me asking, how long are you staying here.”

“2-3 days” Due replied. “After that, we’ll return to Mid Childa.”

“I see” Signum nodded. “Then I wish you the best”

“Thank you, Lieutenant” Uno nodded.

“So, wolf man…” Due smirked at Zafira’s direction. Said person tensed, knowing what was about to come. “Finally asked her out,eh? You sly dog you.”

“You should have seen him” Vita grinned “He was all red when he return home. Hell, even my outfit weren’t that red.”

“I though he had gotten sick.” Shamal chuckled. “I ordered him to go get some rest, and when he refused, I almost asked Lady Hayate to send him to the hospital.”

The group share a small laugh at Zafira’s sulking expression. Even Uno, the ever stoic one, was smiling slightly.

“Heh, now I really wanted to see that scene.” Suddenly, Due narrowed her eyes “… Excuse me, but I’m going over here for a sec”

The blond hurriedly left the group. Everyone was confused, until Hayate saw what was in Due’s eyesight.

Nanoha and Fate have just arrived.

“This isn’t like you, Yuuno! Stop-“ She stifled a gasp as one of his hand descend past her stomach.

“Stop what?” the librarian nibbled her ears, sucking her earlobe slightly.

“Y-y-you know w-what I-I’m talking about?” Due stuttered. It was getting harder for her to concentrate. At this rate, I’m not gonna make it…

“All you have to do…” Yuuno had move on to her neck, and was now nuzzling her hair “is ask”

By now, the librarian was massaging her backside with one hand, while the other works on her … personal spot. It was getting harder to resist

“Don’t… “Due whispered.

“Don’t what?” He was teasing her now, she know it. And yet…

“Don’t…” Due gulped “Don’t stop.”

“As you command, my lady.” What comes next would forever be claimed as “Best. Dream. Ever” for the Cyborg

And then she woke up, sweating heavily.

‘Gah’ Due groaned mentally ‘Why oh why did that happens?’

The former assassin continues to turn in her bed, unable to sleep due to the dream she just had.

***** Next day

“Good morning Due” Yuuno greeted as he enter, a puzzled look on his face. The guards have been acting funny that day. One was grinning like a shark, while the other, more stoic one, seems to be trying to keep his laughter in check.

“Yo.” Due stiffened, not daring to turn around. The memory of last night’s dream was still vivid in her mind.

“Due, what’s wrong?” Yuuno asked with a concerned tone. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine.” She replied stiffly.

Yuuno frowned. Walking around, he sat down in front of Due. “Are you sure?”
“I-I said I’m fine!” Due was really nervous, but thankfully she managed to hide it well.

Then she almost lost it when Yuuno leans in, their foreheads touching.

“Your temperature feels normal” Yuuno muttered to himself “So why is your face all red? Are you sure you’re not…Ow!”

Yuuno’s question was cut off when Due headbutted him. Then she grabbed the pillow and start hitting him with it.

“Ow! Hey, cut it out! Ow! That hurt, you know!”

“Shut up shut up shut up!”

“Ow ow ow! Okay, that’s it! Chain Bind!”

“H-h-hey, w-what the? L-l-let me g-go!” Due squeaked. This was starting to resemble her dreams waaaay too much.

“Not until you calm down.” Yuuno replied, massaging where Due had hit him with the pillow.

“T-this isn’t f-funny, you know!” Due shouted. “Le-ummmph!”

“Shhh, keep quiet!” the librarian whispered, clamping one hand over her mouth. “You don’t want…” Yuuno trailed off and blinked, as the former Number had apparently fainted.

----- Outside

“Ten bucks say that they’re doing it.”

“You do remember that we had to soundproof the room last night, right?’

First time writing this sort of scene, so please help me if there's any problem with it.
As for the inspirations... blame Iron and his Dark Signum's snippets.

I really enjoyed those. Particularly Dream. It was all sorts of deliciously sexy fluff. AUAE looks to be very promising. I'm curious to see how things pan out between the cyborgs and the Aces.

And I'm glad you enjoyed those snippets. Dark Signum is a pleasure to write.
