Pretty sure they're dead. You smashed their Soulstones, which as the name implies, contained their souls.

I think.

Good thing about 3 is that the character classes have separate gender . The class Amazon got hit on by many male characters mainly Larzuk . I found it very creepy when I played as Amazon , a friend of mine found it very cute that character were hitting on his player. That made him feel important in a weird twisted way @__@

"Say a while and listen."

Cain will tell us what we need to know...and what we don't need to know.

Cain was a very nostalgic character for me . Tristam arc was one of my favorite arc in Diablo II . After playing Tristram arc I was really saddened to see that place as I had spent 1000 of hours there . Cain is the longest NPC I known its been close to 11 years ^^ Good thing Tristram and Cain also make there appearances in III something to relate to from II

I'm just hoping we won't have as much emphasis on OMFG UNQIUZ GIEB ME SOJ!!!! as we did with D2. We have all of this customization so hopefully it won't be "grind to level 80 in 2 days, take 2 years to grind the proper gear".

oh god hopes that ain't the case, altho I love Blizzards gear sets they are brilliant but I don't want to spend half a life-time trying to get em all -__-

I know rare should be rare but damn they sure do make em super rare

so anyone else thinking Pally will be another class?

I'm thinking we'll get something like a pally but maybe not a pally specifically. I'm thinking the most likely to return from D2 right now though is the druid for a shapeshifting class.

Betting my cookies on cleric and ranger next, as much as we all like new classes, it's always end up with the fighter, archer, caster archtype.

Cleric = fighter/caster (aka pally with a different label)
ranger = bow/xbow + druid summoning?

WEE! Go Wizard! I certainly like the asian girl as the female wizard. Certainly the first class I'll play once D3 comes out. ^_^

I don't know if this is official but I heard from other 3rd party forums say that the prime evils can never be destroyed. What happened in the end of Diablo II was the banishment of the 3 evils from Sanctuary forever. By destroying the Soulstones, the Diablo II heroes have permanently cut of any way for the 3 Prime evils from manifesting in Sanctuary ever again.

Until the World Stone was destroyed by the end of Diablo 2 XP, which I think was supposedly an artifact that maintained the borders between sanctuary and heaven and hell. Who knows, maybe the prime evils will be back.

I've seen the screenshots.
the barbarian is probably the canon character to kill whoever is the last enemy.

All these essays and tests must have really pulled me out of the loop that I missed the Wizard thing. Really is a simple label change, but at least appreciate the story background they are putting behind it. What can go wrong with young, reckless, and getting involved with magic ?

Curious about the other classes that will come into it. Since still not sure who I'd go with on my first play through. Of course plenty of time to continue speculating about it.

Blizzard has a reputation for "It's done when it's done," but I too hope it launches within the first half of 2009. D3 and Starcraft 2 are being done by two different teams I think so progress with SC2 shouldn't affect what's going on with D3.

Yeah Blizzard does like to stick with that philosophy. Though at least they announced it when it was as far along as it ended up being. I'm sure all the teams are working hard on their respective games. Whenever they do come out its nice to have sequels to games like Starcraft and Diablo to look forward to.

Wrong. I don't recall Baal's soulstone getting shattered. At least... I don't remember. Mephisto's gone, Diablo's gone, but I think Baal's still there. Don't remember. Haven't played in a year. RIP Level 99 Summoning Necromancer D:

Next storyline: Deckard Cain takes drugs, and becomes the... IDK, 1st Epic Evil? o_O
