Forget about what I just said. Just why do Japanese authors like to deviate from their work so much. The most famous/notorious example is Index's author--got at least three series at once. Last edited by Daniel E.; 2013-03-20 at 09:12. |

I mean, it is the problem with LN series. You need to get your work out there, make it different than other series on the market. So you got to feed your readers red meat. Once it sold a few series, you got keep writing it to get your commission. After a certain point, you start to lose will. The characters either become stale, the sales fall off, or just at a certain point you begin to lose interest. SO what you do? Write a new series. Hope your interest in the old one returns. |

Kamachi still churned out at least 3 index volume a year though. A more appropriate example is Hikaru Sugii, kami-sama no memochou's author. He got soo many series that most of them is left unfinished

No, that's really not a good comparison. He finishes his work at least and doesn't forget about his series.
Hikaru Sugii manages to write more than two series at a time and they're good. Not some deux ex machina crap made so his novels can sell.

I beg to differ. Although hikaru sugii's writing is good, he currently got 7 running series, some of which doesn't have new volume for 2-3 years already(sakura familia, hime no miko) and several hasn't has new volume for more than 1 year(kami memo). He's the perfect example of a writer who try to start new things without finishing his old work.
Back to the topic of campione though. 6 months between release is not that long, especially if te writer has a new series on the go. I'll be happy as long as he finished the series instead of leaving it in a limbo. |
