Would have been cool to see the more badass looking Loran on the upper left in action. Harry Ord looked pretty cool too. Its actually interesting to see Tomino foregoing attractive/"cool" designs for more goofy ones.

And it's not like it hasn't happened before, at least with MS-Variation stuff anyways. The Juagg, Agguguy, Zogok, and others were also quite odd and unique-looking themselves. The early Harry looks like Archer (Fate/Stay Night) with a Batman mask XD. Anyway, it's also good that they didn't simply go with a more modern setting. While it's quite clear that there certainly WAS such a modern setting (with the Turn A's and X's existence after all along with the Moonrace and whatnot), the Turn A pretty much "reset" that modern era with the Moonlight Butterfly. It made the series much more interesting and unique that way to me. Especially considering the Turn A and Turn X are pretty much 2 of, if not THE most powerful MS ever made, yet aren't used that much more differently than your typical UC-era MS with only a few more futuristic abilities like the Turn A's teleporting and whatnot.
