I agree totally, the first scene was too much.
It seems I was wrong I said we will dont see Zen, Najimi, Medaka and Haten for two or three weeks but instead 3 of 4 appeared in this ch
However I must say I am very curious to know what Najimi and Medaka were talking about (I suppose it was the flash plan)but it looks like in one page Najimi said a name that has shocked Medaka for a while.
However with the final page I suppose we can expect the appearance of Zen or the treasurer if not both in the next ch.
After all, are their successors to be in that unfortunate position

ONE OF TEN OF THE ENTIRE HUMANITY! --> around 700 million people!

Seems my first thought about Najimi was true... She seems to be something similar to the Arayashiki from Nasu Kinoko´s Kara No Kyoukai. Maybe she represents the will of humanity to surpass humanity or something like that...

In any case, the crazy (hot) nurse is a Not-Equal, too! Her skill is a very rare wide-area annhililation type, called Perfect Melancholy (Complete nervous breakdown (Note: Nervous breakdown is also the japanese name for the game Concentration)).

On the other hand, Medaka already saw through Ajimu´s plan and knows that everyone of the five girls is a Not-Equal.

A Not-Equal, I thought there we're only two? And now we find out that there are MILLIONS of them?

The Not-Equals we've seen are a a Miko(Ajimu) a virtually faceless Yakuza(Hanten) and now a nurse? Nisio is going through a lot of characters for superpowered teenagers to dress the part for.

But seriously, we've actually met two new Abnormals since Ajimu showed up, and now another Not-Equal? Where are the Minuses? The idea of Negative Abnormals really helped the story. And the manga improved ever since Misogi, Mukae, Shibuki and Gagamaru were introduced.

Where the hell are the rest of Class -13. We know the rest of the Minuses have formed a class, but we haven't seen any of them. Would it kill Nisio to introduce some new Minuses?

Ajimu's plan isn't to make everybody 'Not Equals'. Remember, the Flask Plan's goal is to (via some artificial means) make everybody (as in, every human) perfect and therefore the same. So, semantically, you could probably say that what Ajimu actually wants is for everybody to be 'equal'. Strictly speaking, the fact that 1/10th of the human population is definitively 'Not Equal' might be the reason why the Flask Plan is necessary in the first place.

As for Medaka and why she's opposing them, remember that Medaka does not believe in 'genius' or 'talent' and always says that 'hard work can achieve anything'. So, the Flask Plan is not really about working hard. It's about making it so that everybody has the same level of ability as others so that there is no longer any need for struggles or competition. At least thus far, this is my understanding of Medaka's conflict with the Flask Plan now run by Ajimu.

I must admit that this news has left me stunned.
Initially, according to Kumagawa should there be only 2 of them ,and now we find out that 1 / 10 of the world's population is no_equal?
Talking about plot twist.
The crazy thing is that this news increases the chances for Zen being a no_equal.
I doubt that we discover that medaka it's a no_equal but Zen is really possible, after this revelation, and several events that took place previously in the manga.
At least now we know that is not for the skills that one is no_equal, but for something else that we have yet to discover.
And I must say I never imagined that this Nurse was a no_equal I was sure she was a minus.
And one last thing, it seems to me or appears that Najimi to being similar to Izanami Persona 4 even in the role?

93, 94 & 95, which comprises Ajimu's comeback and her intent to reboot the Flask Plan, the Student Council trying to find reliable successors to preserve the good name of the academy and the introduction of the 5 "normal" chicks.

2 things. 1 she is lying or 2 telling half truths. If that many people have those types of abilities but Zens mom did not know. Or what she means is that they have the potential to be not-equal.

the 2 not-equals we know of fit the term well, 1 never shows his face showing that he doesn't think he should look at those who are not equal to him, and the others sees everyone as background, for the same reason.

Zen said minus have a inferiority complex, and abnormal have a superiority complex, not-equals probably have a god complex or something like that.

lots of people think there shit dont smell these are the people Najimu may be talking about, these people dont need to have any real power to back it up, they could be a homeless person but as long as they got that way of thinking they are considered not-equal.

I would really like know what exactly they are. But hey, there need to be some mysterious to keep us interested. Since it was really fun speculating what Kumagawa`s power was.

I think that the Minuses are awesome and are the true bad guys or antagonists will always be them.

The minus make you think and feel. By that I mean there stories are effective and give us something to chew on. Emakue thought that she might be better of dead, scar dead is a disturbed character who once gave a lecture about how it feels to be bullied. ex. licking someones shoe.

They are obvious victims, they are losers, but you cant truly beat them because they are losers who will come at you at a whim it doesn't matter to them if they lose. They provide a special challenge to the main characters. Unlike specials, normal, abnormals and not-equals, beating them up doesn't really mean you win we saw that after scar dead fight, Kumagawa was going to retread just to mess with medaka`s dream with.

Class -13 is the authors trump card for telling an emotional story. But he had a problem, he could not effectively tell that story in the scope of the flask plan, since Kumagawa although having his own goals was still kind of working for the flask plan.

This arc gives nishi a chance to introduce what I think is the final type of person(not-equal) and end the flask plan story-line, to start something knew.
If he want to keep this manga fresh and long-running he has to change things up, expand the character roster, give us a sense of mystery, etc.

I love this manga, I wish it was more popular, and get as much debate on forums as Naruto. I honestly look forward to this more that Naruto. In this manga I dont have a character that I hate or feel like bashing, In this manga the characters I should hate are my favorite(kumagawa and the minus)

I could go on forever talking about the minus and how they will be used. But I will stop here. And I hope we somehow catch up soon. Good luck with translations dr. and good speed!

The 10th collected edition of Medaka Box came out recently in Japan. If you remove the covers, the inside flaps sometimes have normal art and sometimes have gags. The 10th volume is definitely a gag, as we see Emukae on her hands and knees making miso for Zenkichi. A *lot* of miso. While doing a huge text bubble's worth of dialogue similar to her rant about what her married life with Zenkichi would be like after she met him. Zenkichi is peering in through a window at her, vaguely terrified.

Sadly, for some reason the Japanese volume has the dialogue in Japanese, so I'm not sure what it says.

To tell you the truth, I have your same feeling.

Well, different than I thought, the skill of the nurse isn´t "Perfect Melancholy" (Perfect Concentration) (it´s her game), but in deed she has borrowed one of Anshin´in´s skills. It´s called "Five Focus (Five Diseases Claws)" and it´s a skill, which manipulates sickness.　She could use it to kill people with heart diseases, but today it´s just a "cute" summer cold fever...

Of course, she can use it to heal sickness, too, so she was placed by Anshin´in in the school to reduce the death cases. Takarabe notes, that the dual aspect (Healing and Cursing) makes this ability more than a Minus.

Well, at the end Kumagawa gets awesome again, saving Takarabe and will fight Aka (the nurse) with a sickness.

Keywords in this chapter: "NACKED APRON SEMPAAAIIIIII!" (never thought they would use this nickname in admiration XDD)
