I'd prefer that they actually animate the rest of the Gunslinger Girl manga than adapt it...

Not sure about that, if they do it like the second serie...

It was creepy how quiet they were.

I try to take Cracked's lists for the easygoing comedy that they are, but the Belle and Ariel's entries are too stupid to be at all funny.

What, a girl likes books, hates shallow dudes, is an introverted bookworm, can "see through the external to see the good inside" -- basically the dream girl of half the world's male population, and 99% of this board's -- and suddenly she's got -- whatever the hell she's supposed to have? And Ariel, well, she's an anthropologist and a bit of a human otaku. If they want a funnier hoarder example they could have used...oh, the entire dragon species in Western fantasy maybe, starting with Beowulf.

Cracked is basically a huge timesink of amusement... but as Irenicus notes, not all the articles are that well thought out or written... or perhaps the author was simply straining to connect dots that don't really connect.

Most of the time the lists are pretty amusing/disturbing/depressing.

Speaking of Cracked, I found this a VERY interesting read, particularly the zombie section.

So they are saying that GOP are zombies while Dems are vampires?

Come to think of it, quite true isn't it? The GOP are looking to inhale the soul of living Americans, while the Democrats wanted to suck their people dry.

I’m Under Arrest for What? Fifty Bizarre U.S. Laws

Most of them are stupidly hilarious. But I agree with this one:

Hawaii
All residents may be fined for not owning a boat.

Well... they are in a vulcanic area. They need a boat to escape when the lava enter their living room.

This one took more my attention:

Indiana
The value of pi is 4, and not 3.1415

Who's the idiot than made that law.

Pie is of greater value in Indiana. Though the English will scoff at the American use of pie for sweets rather than meats.

Some of them are silly indeed, or just blatantly obvious. In addition to the two above, I like:

Quote:
Delaware
It’s illegal to get married on a dare.
This actually makes sense, but would be hard to prove in order to charge someone.

Quote:
Washington, D.C.
It’s against the law to post a public notice calling someone a coward for refusing to accept a challenge to duel.
This makes me want to do just that.

Quote:
Florida
If you tie an elephant to a parking meter, you must pay the same parking fee as you would for a vehicle.
Also makes sense, but makes me wonder when this would've happened to cause said law to be put into effect.

Quote:
Maine
If you keep your Christmas decorations on display after January 14, you’ll be fined.
Good. Hate the people who keep their shit up until Valentine's Day.

Quote:
Nevada
It’s illegal for men with mustaches to kiss women.
How very... unique.

Quote:
Ohio
You must honk the horn whenever you pass another car, according to the state’s driver’s education manual.
Does this really count as a law? Just because it's in an education manual doesn't mean it's a law.

That's a good way to get yourself killed in some places.
