This is silly but.... As I looked up some rare proverb, I came upon this site. And as I scanned over the article, a sentence caught my attention. On February 5, the manga-loving Stanford-dropout whose IQ is said to be 80, said out of the blue that he started to think the Postal Privatization Law of 2005 might have to be thoroughly reviewed. Maybe I am reading it incorrectly/wrong/etc but is the adjective"manga-loving" serving as a synonym for "stupid" or "unintelligent" in this sentence? I did further searches on this website and I found several example of "manga-loving" being used in similar fashion.
Thus I am wondering if the elitist contempt towards manga reflects the attitude of the majority in Japan? Or maybe within the "more educated" bunch?* Edit: I am just reading into it too deeply since author is just trying to say that manga is serving as a source of illiteracy in Japan.

Pseudo-elitist thinking like you describe is definitely a minority edit: wow, that's some piece of narcissistic hot air website you found there.... Gordon Chang was a hoot, though not in a way I think he'd get. And Yuichi Yamamoto (the perpetrator of that web page) is a mental disaster wrapped up in a fermented pile of ultra-nationalism. :P Its a wonder he can get through a Western-style door....

Somethings been bothering me...
How does the Daily Show always get people to take part in their mock interviews? I mean it's obvious that only half of it gets filmed in front of the actual person. But why do people help them with the other part? Do they like to be presented as an idiot on TV? |

I don't mean his guests. Those are usually people that he can agree on.
I mean those interviews, where you see the person say something, then it switches to a view from behind 'his' head and one of Stewards troup says something rediculous, which the interviewee then apparently responds to without flinching. They are in almost every episode and almost every time the person interviewed is completely destroyed. Sometimes they have two opposing parties, but you can tell that one side is scripted (the 'good' side) and the other is... what? Clueless? Last edited by Dhomochevsky; 2012-03-09 at 16:39. |

I'm not sure how it is with The Daily Show, but with The Colbert Report, Stephen has a quick meeting with the guest beforehand to the effect of "You know how this show works, right? I'm going to make a lot of ridiculous statements." Perhaps something similar is done with the filmed interviews in The Daily Show.

They are just too confident that their points will come across, even when sometime it's simply ridiculous. But then the interview trick also make them appear(and say) seems more stupid than the actual whole interview.
The champion of this misleading interview is "Penn & Teller's Bullshit!" show through. I only watched a few, but the host's biased interview technique was so obvious, that i still don't know if Penn seriously believe all that, or just to see how many people they can trick. Question time: Basketball and Moneyball. Just watched the movie "Moneyball" and since i don't know much about the sport or US League (MBL?). How many steps it take for a team to win The World Series? Like they have to play X amount of games in Competition A, in top Y to get into League B. Then they have to play 7 games or something, win the majority, before get into League C. And then win teams from Japan or such and such countries to win World Series?

I have been going for a number of interviews lately and I see many of my interviewers use the DISC and MBTI tests; when the results D-hi-C-low-type and INTJ come up in their reports their faces change to a "No Go" one.
Is there a way to convince them that their HR is just being retarded by dealing out those test-sheets to applicants? Or should I just manipulate the results since I know how they work so I can get the job?

I've been wondering for some time why some people spell anime "animu".
For the life of me, I can't wrap my tongue around it. Misspellings like "you're/your", "dual-wielding/duel-wielding", "planeswalker/plainswalker" I can easily understand. But "animu" for "anime"? How does that work? What accent am I not aware of that makes this misspelling possible? |

Actually, you have to keep correcting these people, and get used to it; explicitly circling them out with the water-ink pilot pens that soak through the script is the best way to annoy them. Alternatively, colouring the words red then bolding-italicise-underlining it should help. Fail to correct that in the future? Simple, increase the font size. * - You and Ascaloth could make excellent colleagues. One is so prim and proper about the English language, while the other freely abuses it in his arguments. You didn't read this part Sumeragi. Therefore you have no inspiration for your fanfic.

Guys, anyone , know any programs that allow u to annotate a pictures, and have an autohide feature? SO the notes/comments will be hidden until you open up/ move your mouse over (something like this http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/...ossover-eating ,NSFW ad btw).
Basically i want to put comments/annotations on image/png files.A scanned page of a book for example. However, with permanent annotations, I can't write a lot because there is not enough blank space. And draw all of the arrows and stuffs are quite a pain.

Well, the feature you linked to seems to be javascript (noScript blocks it), not part of the picture.
The comments are part of the pages source code: Code:
