Indeed. That whole part was just Chieri brimming with confidence and resolve, and showing, quite visually, how much she has grown from the grumpy fugitive who thought rival was the same as enemy. Hopefully she can show that same confidence around her dad, even if it takes some help from her buddies.

They both have shown maturity over this anime break, though Nagisa certainly still has her naivity...

Looks like Nagisa is still holding back her true potential. Hope we could see her in a diffrent light in this season.

The 2 DES 'space marine' wasted a Yukirin hand shake. They did not know how expensive it is. What a waste.

Mayuyu, why are you jealous about Yukirin's boobs? You can always 'upgrade' yourself.

I think the concern about who will be at the bottom of the ranking is something interesting. I wonder who could it be and I am hoping for an unexpected winner for the general election.

She was fine during the concert at the beginning. More than holding back, I think the General Election announcement (and Yuuko's rivalry announcement) put her temporarily out of her game. She'll get on track soon enough.

That's what imperfection is all about, as I don't think she'll try to be the next glass-breaking diva, but I'm happy about her effort. Otherwise, here's Hashire Penguin (Karen in the Shower).

Effort or not, the song it's just not suited for her voice. She probably could do better with a different song.

I should've added a fact why she chose this song despite it's technically out of her range: apart from her usual duties, Karen is a presenter of a small NHK TV program who looks into the daily lives of 3/11 survivors and how they're doing; the song is entitled Hana wa Saku, and it's used as the program's theme song.

AKB0048 14 - This Whole Courtroom is Out of Order

Picked up right where we left off. It's been a while since I've watched, but the show did a good job at refreshing my memory. The opening concert was nice, but the courtroom trial scene was just a lot of fun to watch. The contrast of the music and the battle going on, with all that swooping around and dodging things... it was pretty exciting. The dream scene at the start... I wonder how long it's going to take before Nagisa mentions that to anyone. The idea that you may be somehow supernaturally better, even if the fans are the ones speaking for you at the moment, could cause some troubles. Maybe not for Chieri, but for the others, perhaps. Great way to start things off.

On one hand I could tell that she was rather pushing her range with that song. On the other, I think she still did pretty well despite that. Whatever else you can say about her she is still a good singer.

What caught my eye in that video was unrelated to the singing. Just a few days ago watched some of the DVD extras from the first season. She looks visibly more grown up in this video than she did in those, for all that they couldn't have been made all that long ago. She's what, a year or so older? But she looks noticeably more mature. ...Maybe I'm just pointing out obvious things that don't need mentioning... she is a teenager after all...

You may not remember, but at the end of episode 13, Mayuyu was shown lifting a steel girder and some collapsed rubble off of some trapped fans. I'd say she's pretty strong. Of course, with the kirara's help any of the idols can be pretty strong. Yuuko princess-carried Chieri during the rescue back in episode 2, after all, right after lifting a massive chandelier (which Nagisa hadn't even been able to budge) off of her.

Marvellous. Great to see this show back, and just as wonderfully preposterous as it always was.
This is one of the shows I was looking forward to the most this season.

It would be even better if Sunrise made it. The main problem of Satellite: it has great directors and choose projects and scriptwriters carefully but it just can't get enough money to animated it on the best level and use to much 3d to compensate it (((.

I think I read somewhere that the 3D was more of an artistic choice. Not to mention some 3D animation is seeping into nearly everything these days.

Speaking of which, it seems that Chieri’s father has finally showed himself. I have a feeling that he’ll use his daughter (plus Nagisa) to create a faster FTL device that will make more money that he can screw on, like banning more entertainment and pissing Sensei-sensei off by catching Kiraras!
