I'm disliking Kyo lately, but a nice-boat it's a little too much. Lately i really think Manami is right after all, the only one who can put with all the crap Kyo does and make him piss his pants when necesary it's Ayase.

I think i'll be changing my preferences then, till Kyousuke proves he is not a douchebag anymore, i'll be rooting for an Ayase end just becuase Kyo needs to recieve some punishment and because Ruri deserves better.

The only thing i can read from there is that is signed: "Kuroneko seiyuu(?) Hanazawa Kana". And from very blurry bits of kanji i can read she only says an opinion of Kuroneko character, something about it has grown in her and that was nice. But other than the sign name i offer you a 5% certainty of what i just wrote.

Ore no Kouhai ga konna ni kawai wake ga nai. Chaper zero is out, somewhere on the internetz. I just read it, and from those small 10 pages i can say it's A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!

Ruri gets WAY more character development and a deep insight to her thoghts. Just from those pages I can reaffirm, Kuroneko is my favorite Oreimo char! Who needs Kirino!! XD

And all points to it will pick the first possible branch i thought. It will re-tell the story from the timeframe Kuroneko is Kyou's kouhai, but this time from Kuroneko's POV. But then that makes me a little sad since if it will be limited by the tittle, the timeframe this manga can occupy is only about 5 or 6 months right? Since Ruri started school around march(?) stopped being Kyou's kohai on summer (around august). So unless they'll go on a parellel world where she doesn't move, this manga will be really short in extention .__.

With my quarter-baked Japanese and half-baked English:

This is the first time I got to play the role of a Chuunibyou character, and although it was a difficult role, Kuroneko grew on me, and became a character that I'm fond of.

"Chuunibyou" footnote:
this is impossible to translate, but a Chuunibyou character is a person (usually adolescent) who tends to engage in "pretensive" or "wannabe" behaviors, living in some kind of fantasy in his/her mind. The closest equivalent in Chinese, though not exact, would be a mild form of 妄想症. Examples of such characters at the top of my mind: Okarin from Steins;Gate, Kuroneko from Oreimo, Kobato from Haganai.

My take on Chuunibyou is a little more than that though. If used to describe a real person, real-live characters in anime. It also involves some fanboy/fangirls aspect in that the person acts and thinks in such a way as the character he/she was a fan of.

As for Chuunibyou characters in fantasy/sci-fi type anime, they are characters who seem oblivious to his/her surrounding with "everything is about me" or "me-against-the world" attitude and their actions and their actions tends to contradict their ideal. ex: Shinn from Seed Destiny, Naruto (when it comes to Sasuke) from Naruto, etc.

Agree on the first; it's a subset of the general classification but not restricted to that. About the second, I'm not sure. And it's not my take though, I just took what I understood from the Japanese wiki and paraphrased and summarized it as best as I could

I'm a bit iffy on the second as well. However, I'm positive those characters are being refers to as Chuunibyou characters (I'll even throw Lelouch in there as well), but they really don't share too much of the first criteria. And those are the only things see that can group them together.

What I'm sure of, is that Chuunibyou characters tend to leads to Chuunibyou behavior. And the characters I listed are prime causes for Chuunibyou people.

I just finished Kirino's route on the psp and was....ok...i suppose. A little boring imo. But what makes me post this is the *if* route you can walk into when you get the *Album* item.

WTF!! man, just WTF!! I pray the author DO NOT use that godforsaken argument to ultimately pair up Kyo and Kirino. But even if it's an *if* route, since the game was directed by the author he might as well pull that from his ass. That's suck.

By finding the album Kirino hid in her room and questioning his parents about it the lack of pictures of him, Kyousuke finds out he is not their son, but Kyo's mom brother son (so he is Kirino's FIRST cousin, i might have misheard this though). Unlike what i'd expect, Kyou doesnt o emo at all, he understands and all.

But his attidude towards Kirino somewhat changes, acting more polite which Kirino interpret as he became somewhat distant. Kyou tells her he is not her brother after all, Kirino answers she already suspected that, and goes all dere there.

God forbids the author from pulling that argument from his sleeve (or imo, ass) -.-

yeah. i kinda suspect that in order to have a more socially acceptable couple relationship, they'll probably have to go that route....

or, they can have a bro-sis relationship restoration PLUS kyo hooking up with another person. (we'll have to find out what caused their relationship to deteriorate back then)

now that album does play a big part i'm certain. since in the anime we never got to see it one way or another.

the OP shows two pic of them in the pool while they were young..... so who knows.

Finally finished this (I've been lazy/busy doing other stuff), and I pretty much agree with what Undertaker said:

Basically pretty much everything is out in the open. The siblings are finding out other other has sibling complex. On the other hand the possibility of Kuroneko end is still strong since everything looks as if they are still under her plan and control. IMO, unless Fushimi really pushes the incest end, (which I doubt) Kuroneko's Arcadia seem to be the perfect ending. Either that or as someone said before, a status duo ending where Kyosuke didn't end up with anyone.

It seem the story would stuck like this for a while as Fushimi's note in the end states the book will get back to the sibling's antics. Looks like he's thinking about milking this series a bit before wrapping it up, which is fine by me. This the way he wrote and end V8 I can actually see things stay like this for another 3-5 volumes before he needs to start wrap things up.

Anyway, after reading, I really hope he fills in the details in this volume. There are so thing in this volume that can turn into awesome short stories. I really want to see KN and Kyosuko's swimming date, and Kirino's first meeting of KN's younger sisters.

One thing to point out though, Manami show that once again she is the most clear-head one in the series. (though KN is right there with her) I was shocked when she first tried to push for KyoxAyase, but when I think about it, she's was actually right. In a "sick" (yandere) way, as Manami puts it, Ayase will be able to force everyone to be happy, even if it was a facade. I also think she indirectly explains why she has really push her relationship with Kyosuke.

On on hand, she was too complacent and confident that no other girl can be compatible with Kyosuke and notice his good points. On the other hand she realizes that Kirino is the final boss and she isn't capable of taking her down. But now everything change with KN in the picture, she realizes that KN is basically the combination of herself and Ayase and a formidable foe. That little scene in chapter 4 shows me she's preparing herself for the future Kyosuke-pocalypse.

Also Kyosuke's visit confirm bunch of things for me. Ayase knew Kyosuke was lying in V2. Ayase is not only a yandere but a tundere with a really twisted take on love. If anything this opens up the possible (but still slim) Ayase end. And Kyosuke really sets a major flag when Ayase lost it in the end.

Overall, I didn't know what to expect on this volume coming in knowing that KNxKyo relationship will last just 1 volume (well 2 chapters really). But everything was handled perfectly while still maintaining a cheerful tone and crisp pace.

BTW, the description of that "evolved" Arcadia, isn't that exactly that Kyosuke's dream was in the short story from the PSP game?

And Hinata&Tamaki were awesome in this volume, I want to see more of them, I wish my sisters were like that.

Spoiler for more brief thoughts on the future direction of the series:

• I hope Kyousuke tells of the meeting with Kuroneko's parents sometime too. I thought it was weird that they didn't appear at all in the onsen scene. And more Hanata and Tamaki too - totally agree, they were A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!
• I really hope Fushimi-sensei doesn't drag it out too long! Though I'm sure there'll be more of the anime eventually, which makes for either 1/2 extra volumes (though it'd be REALLY annoying to have the last three episodes as monthly web releases like this time) or a total of 5 more volumes if he goes for 2 more cour for TV. I personally think 5 more volumes would be overkill, given what was achieved in volume 8...will see what happens with volume 9 then.

A couple of other details for those who can't read it.

Spoiler for chapter 4 spoilers:

• The last chapter of this volume is all about Kirino returning all the favours that Kyousuke has done for her until now, i.e. supporting her brother when he is down and out. Kirino calling and addressing her brother by his name seems to stem from this role reversal.
• Kyou's conversation with Manami near the end has several important points, including the observation that Kuroneko's actions in this volume mean that "even if it's not Ayase, a future where everyone is happy is now possible, don't you think?"

Kyousuke trying to tell Kuroneko his decision not to date anyone until Kirino finds a boyfriend plays out a lot like the dressing room scene between Sheryl and Alto in episode 24 of the TV series.

IIRC, they put aside the game they were making together in order to finish the shooting game that the male club members were working on - i.e. the shooting game is complete, but their second co-creation is on hold.

Seeing how OP and ED lyrics from the anime reflect somewhat the thoughts of the character that (in theory) sings them. Like "Irony" for Kirino (Kirino's seiyuu doesnt sing that one though), after listening the full version of -†Inochi Mijikashi Koi Seyo Otome† - (ED for ep14) reading the lyrics and after reading the chapter zero of "Ore no Kouhai....(KN protagonist manga), i find Ruri even more adorable. Kuroneko really is the type of female character i like the most, the type that has many inner dialogues, utterly self-reflexive, intelligent, very shy but really honest and real with her feelings as long as you can read between lines (except for that little part when she breaks up with Kyo for apparent no reason in vol8ch.2 and is explained later, no biggie )

Anyway, my point being, KN manga is really cool for understanding Ruri point of view. I liked the Chapter zero for the novel too, that special chapter that is told from Kirino point of view the same day Kyo discovers her secret. I'd like to read more chapters from her PoV but if i had to pick one, i'll stick to KN.

*Facepalm* The hell with that argument. If the author is planning to pair Kyousuke and Kirini then the author shouldn't used this kind of excused. I just hope he won't really do this in novel. Oh please.

*^o^* I dont know if this date is anywhere else but for people like me that like to have the info in one place ill post it here.

Vol 9th of oreimo novel is dated September 10, and as a plus will feature a -real life- cameo, (wtf!?), new chars? Well, new chars sometimes mean more lifetime for the novel and not be limited by that hypotetical 10 volumes top the author or some posters have pointed out.

I say if the author found the golden eggs hen, -*as long as quality stays the same *- he can milk it for much more time.
