doesn't sound like a battle theme. Maybe feels okay for a combo video but overall you can't really get that pumped up to kickass with it. It tenses you up but it doesn't make you move or electrifies you like previous combat themes.

I never liked these kinds of 'club' music... Even before DmC.

That theme sounds almost like a build up theme to something big.

Original franchise: smart and funny dialogues, and Shakespeare!

Reboot: "Fuck You!" and more profanity

It keeps building up but the song doesn't have a release point. What comes as a release point doesn't feel like a climax at all. The beats which are nice overpower the fall and just go monotonously in intensity. At worst it bores you, at best it let's you build up for nothing. Then again I'm more used to J-rock/metal song structures.

I'm pretty sure that's a fake account, I'm sure most of you know that though, I hope. I get a kick out of seeing people roleplay RL people. it's amusing.

@Demino

I think Dante's and Nero's battle themes were pretty good, they're not really memorable, but they're great in their own right because they're not as distracting and obnoxious as what DmC was trying to go for.

DMC4 Shall never surrender > DmC Shall never surrender

Actually what I like most is their lyrics believe it or not

Both "Devils never Cry" and "The Time has Come" have some kickass stylish lyrics

Uh God of War 3s sales completely shit over Bayonetta.... I don't think Bayonetta even sold a million worldwide, it did ship that number though... God of War 3 sold over a million in the first month it was released in America alone.

Hmm and here I thought Bayonetta was only 100k-200k short of GoW3 sales.

Finally did that research I was too lazy to do. 4.5M in it's lifetime, GoW3 is king of the genre at the moment. Bayonetta only netting 1.4 million at best. If DmC wants to claim to be the biggest thing to hit this genre since ever, it has to beat that 4.5M estimate. Especially since it's trying to be edgy and western which is what GoW is all about.

DmC PC - the definitive Devil May Cry experience?

Quote:
With DmC Devil May Cry, Ninja Theory proved that it was possible to preserve the fast-paced signature gameplay of the Devil May Cry games while adopting a reduced 30FPS update, thus allowing for a significant leap in graphical quality, bringing features such as dynamic environments, object blur and higher precision lighting to the table. In effect, the developer managed to balance out pure visual spectacle with rewarding gameplay mechanics while giving the series a fresh new beginning. But for some of the hardcore Devil May Cry fanbase, this is not enough. For them, its 60FPS frame-rate and the associated low-latency controls are two fundamental pillars of the series that have defined the gameplay across four previous titles.

So DmC PC port is very good apparently. able to get Good quality graphic with 60+ FPS without using monster rig

But it doesn't push boundaries. At best, it just answers everything vet players have been asking for. The still pictures I saw suggest sharper pictures but at the same time more vivid jagged lines of grafted pixels. Kind of like staring at high end PS2 graphics. Other's seem more impressive because they use less blur and move to sharper imaging. Textures don't seem to be that much better but just smooth out certain parts.

The main I have for the PC port is that since it's Unreal Engine's, the texture -popping is kinda obvious.

It's Unreal Engine 3, of course it will be better on PC. Hopefully Unreal 4 runs well on Durango (Xbox) and Orbis (Playstation)

Weird, how can't consoles run a simple game like this at 60fps?

That's the standard for every Hack n Slash ever made.

The only console game to run unreal engine 3 at 60fps us mortal kombat, which is quite different from most games using it.

bad programming choices? No dedicated engine? Over emphasis on graphics instead of content? Lack of experience in high speed H&S? a number of factors really.

I don't think they have much optimizing choices since they chose to utilise Unreal, instead of some in-house engine + design choices for dynamic environments.

Oh well at least at SoS diffculty the enemies are the more challenging type. One major gripe I have is that it is too east to get ranking A-SSS for each mission whereas in DmC4 I managed C-D at the start -_-
