Hi, i don't know if this is the right place, to ask... Is there any group translating the Durarara!! novels? The translation on baka tsuki seems to be dropped, and i can't find any others...

I have a question. I read somewhere that Kida was ignoring Mikado for some reason. Can someone tell me when this happened and why?

Also, there all this talk about colored gangs but is the Yellow and Blue the only colors or is the whole rainbow here too?

Yellow Scarves is taken from Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Yellow Turban peasant rebellion. They got their name because they, like the original seeks justice (or that was the reason it come about in the first place).

Blue Squares is named by its founder for the little squares of turf that he see other gangs mindless squabbling over. No, Ran Izumi, Blue Squares leader during their war against Yellow Scarves is not the founder.

As for Kida avoiding Mikado, it's mostly out of sense of guilt and shame. He tried to protect his friends, not knowing that such action directly puts his friend in danger. He was only seen in several brief chat room scenes in novel 4-6, and for the most part is not there.

The basic concept of colored gangs is an actual one. Not sure when it started, but it really caught on after Ikebukuro West Gate Park. Using color gangs in a series set in Ikebukuro is a direct reference to the earlier novels/TV series. (The main gang in the TV series even used yellow.)

No, I think you guys are not getting what I'm asking. I'm trying to ask if there are other gangs in the novel other than the Yellow Turbans and Blue Squares that have a color associated to them.

Also, I think I read somewhere in this thread that Kida ignored Mikado during the period in middle school and because of Mikado was bored not being able to talk to Kida that he started Dollars. But then I read the last bits of volume 3 and I saw that he was ignoring him then too. So did Kida ignore Mikado in two separate occasions or did he only started ignoring Mikado after volume 3?
