But still. The Heavy is the quintessential Medic uber buddy. It's something that Valve realized they were doing wrong in the early versions of Meet the Medic where they tried to explain the origin of the Medigun and such things, when they realized that ubering a Heavy is what people thought of the Medic doing.

Yeah I know what you mean, used to play a lot with a friend. He'd switch up between pyro, heavy or demo depending on what the situation was and I'd play pocket healer. Broke many-a-camp with it. We coordinated a lot on Vent though.

I guess what I was getting at was that some people either don't hear/listen or are too timid when getting/about to get uber'd and kinda waste it. Still don't like ubering soldiers, just seems so damn ineffective.

Meet the Medic video kinda solidified it regardless of whatever perceptions there may have been heh, t'was an awesome video.

Well, most of the time, pyro with a uber will run in the enemy so that the uber can be use for the max damage.
Heavy, are slow, it's ok if they run in, but most of the time they walk with their gun turning.
Demo are, most of the time, spammer, so they don't have ammo to attack a base XD

In a payload game (don't remember the map), I got medic with some pyro (who knew is job) at the start of the game we rush through enemy to the first sentry nests, clean everything, 2 sentry, 2 teleport, 2 dispenser the 2 engi with some guy coming from the teleport XD
Survive it, the rest of the team push the cart to the checkpoint, I got another uber.
And we do it again, run the second sentry nests and clean everything XD
We win and the game last barely 2 minute.

The moment I get ubered I tend to throw caution into the wind and just barrel into the enemy line with brute force. Since I tend to be pyro when I get ubered, I'm already used to suicide bombing to help break lines. Uber allows me to clear the lines and their backup.

Well, today's patch reveals the mystery of the Grockets. Turns out my theory was right. The update brings 2 space-age laser weapons into the game. Unfortunately (for some of us) both of them can only be used by the Soldier.

First up is the Cow Mangler 5000, a primary weapon for Soldier. It doesn't require ammo to use and can be charged up to stun enemies and buildings near the blast for 4 seconds, however it can't randomly crit and it does less damage to buildings.

Secondly is the Righteous Bison, a secondary weapon for Soldier. Again it doesn't use ammo, it's shots can't be reflected AND it's shots go through enemies to hit others behind them. But like the other one, it does less damage to buildings.

Oh look Valve more biased towards soldier, what a suprise.
Those weapons are OP, use them before they nerf them.

Hope they nerf them pretty bad so everybody forgot about them and I never see them again...
Soldier already have lot of thing. Hell, even the liberty launcher fell unbalanced...

Everybody use them, it's just too much...

Oh and Hell, engi just suck now (even more than before), no need to uber or have a well placed spy to take out a sentry, just a fully charged shot of lazer and it's get destroy in no time by other...

I'm only out of a multiplay server and its safe to say they are mega OP almost to the point of being broken. There was a brave few on either side and it was pretty chaotic with one hit kills everywhere and if you didn't die in one shot you where thrown into the air and died from fall damage, quite infuriating.

The bison is definitely up the left and sometimes if you shoot at someone moving away from you the same shot can hit them 2-3 times. Also can anyone confirm weather it has splash damage as well ? since it very much seemed so as I seemed to be killed around corners on a few occasions.

What where they thinking !?

So a new update was released recently and now Soldiers have laser weapons. What does everyone think about them? Haven't gotten my hands on them yet but from what I've seen and heard, they seem a bit overpowered.

I'm not too worried. If the weapons are that big of an issue Valve will surely nerf them appropriately.

And it's good one amusing thing came out of these weapons:

And then Soldier was a magical girl.~

That new weapon is really.. really.. really distracting. Half last nights matches were washed out from blue and red glowing laser spam.

Can't really comment on the damage output or the effects since I haven't used them, but they do seem effective. Dunno if I'd say it was OP or not though.

But yeah, distracting. Doesn't seem to fit the game too me. Makes it easy to dodge though since you can see it from a mile away.

There are tons of weapons that kill me faster than one of those laser guns, so I don't really see them as OP.

A charged hit can kill most classes with one shot that you cant really even hear coming so yeah I'd say they're overpowered (especially if theres a lot of people using them in a single game) hell even if it doesn't kill you it sends you either up in the air or deals a lot of damage from what seems like the widest splash damage radius of all the soldier weapons.

I haven't seen this myself but apparently the bison can even shoot through some walls and even through the starting gates.

It looks like they didn't even bother to playtest them before they released them into the wild.

Remember how we were talking about how it'd be hard for Valve to make a Female Heavy for TF2?

It just occcured to me - Milly Thompson from Trigun?! She'd be perfect! She already carries a minigun to boot!

Amg, Milly!

I guess Meryl could fit into the Scout with all those pistols she carries around.

Out of those images:

Image 1:

Scout - Like. Spunky, small and swift. Plus that bubblegum gives her attitude.
Soldier - Looks sweet but showing that much leg and boots that high?! Should be wearing khaki pants at least to be a real Soldier.
Pyro - Looks like a little old lady... WTF?!?!
Demoman - The smiley face undies are very in-line with the character. But high heels...and her attire in general just doesn't seem right.
Heavy - Um....NO....
Engineer - PERFECT!
Medic - Good overall, but I would have seen her wearing pants. Plus this artist seems to be resorting to high heels too much...
Sniper - Good look and attitude, one character that would be wearing boots. But should be pants instead of short shorts.
Spy - Good fit! The whole can-can/Harlequin look is very French.

Other image, most of them look a bit warped...especially the Pyro...

Hmm, what would anime equivalents be for a female only team?

Scout - Meryl Strife, Trigun. She's short, fast, spunky and specialises in small handguns.

Soldier - Melissa Mao, Full Metal Panic. Feminista to the max and is in the military to boot. You know she'd love to dish out more punishment.

Pyro - Lina Inverse, Slayers. Lina and fire - they do mix!

Demowoman - Bomb mode: Asuka Soryu Langley, Neon Genesis Evangelion; Sword mode: Oscar, Rose of Versailles. Asuka has an eyepatch as of the 2nd movie. She's loud and loves annihilating stuff. Whereas Oscar is pretty much the only old-school swordsman from a medieval series I can think of.

Heavy - Milly Thompson, Trigun. She's huge. She carries a minigun. She'd be hilarious!

Engineer - Winry Rockbell, Fullmetal Alchemist. Do I even need to justify this one?! Seems pretty obvious to me.

Medic - C.C., Code Geass. Okay, this one I struggled on...I picked C.C. due to her regenerative effects. Perhaps her heal partner using Geass is Uber mode?! At least you know C.C. looks good in white!

Sniper - The Major aka Motoko Kusanagi, Ghost in the Shell. Technically, the Major could have been Soldier too. But she's also darn skilled in long range guns and occasionally wore gear similar to the Sniper. She's the only plausible option I could see in terms of having the skills, look and personality to handle being in a TF2 fray.

Spy - Ryougi Shiki, Garden of Sinners. Has the attitude, the sometimes chilling persona and the knife skills to handle it. You know the enemy would think 'Oh look, cutie in a cardigan/kimono!' and pass on by until she's slashed them to shreds!

And in actual TF2 playing, today I racked up a 15 uber, 39 point, 15:03 duration Medic life. Quick-Fix on Defense is awesome. Also racked up a 21 sentry kill, 4 Domination Engineer life. I can't believe people kept feeding my sentry which was on the truck in the final level of Goldrush. Took three minutes for a Soldier to force me out, while people kept blindly going to the cart and getting smashed.
