Hiya~ been here for somewhile, but this is my first post-
Cuz I can't help wondering - how did you guys make the animation your avatar? I mean, how did you guys make things like this?

i found out that i already have the program. Adobe Imageready, but im really confuse about this part:
Capturing your screenshots: (Virtual Dub)
1) Open the episode you want
2) Press control+g or Edit--->Go to.
3) Use Jump frame at time: XX:XX:XX

i am really new to this, so can you explain to me a little bit please?
if you dont want to waste ur time then i understand.

If you really have any more questions then ask them in How to make your own animated Gifs (ImageReady/Virtual Dub) like everyone else has suggested. Sheesh. Please take the hind already.
