Good babelfish tranlating into only Hiragana & Katakana
Greeetings... I'm looking for a good English--Japanese translation website that will translate english words only into Hiragana or Katakana for foreign loan words, or, at the very worst, a close romanji approximation.
The sites I have found that translate English to Japanese correctly, unfortunately tranlate into Kanji whenever a kanji symbol exists for the English word. This, unfortunately, does teach me the Japanese pronunciation for said word. For example, at Intertran, If I type in the word 'dog' and hit the translate key, out pops the kanji char for 'dog'. This is good to know, but doesn't teach me how to pronounce 'dog' in Japanese. Yes, I can find a zillion examples of the word 'dog' being said in Anime, this is just an example So, basically, what I'm looking for is a translation service that will translate into hiragana/katakana whenever possible, and only use kanji when hiragana for the word does not exist (by definition, there is no Kanji for katakana words, so that part is a non-issue ) |

Try downloading JWPce (don't know the site for it, try google).
After downloading it, translate whatever you want to translate by using those sites and copypaste it (the translation) into JWPce. Right-click on a kanji to see it meanings, and scroll down a bit in the same window that popped up and you'll see how it is said. (Note: There are usally many ways (well, like.. 2?) of pronouncing a kanji. So that part might be hard) Anyone, if you see any faulty information; Please correct me. EDIT > Or if you don't feel like looking for JWPce on google, join #AnimeSuki. |
