Well that was pretty solid. I think this being a fire themed dungeon makes things pretty chaotic. That was some 'dance' Alibaba had to do in order to stay alive there. But in the end his gamble paid off though he did have to get stabbed for his trouble. Pretty good episode for him. Stepping up and fighting when needed, but also showing off his brain which is probably good since Aladdin is more kind than clever. Though he can be insightful when the time comes for it.
A bit of a holy crap moment with Morgiana running up the walls in order to go after them . That's got to be scary as hell to have her chasing you down. Clearly she'll join up later, but right now more of an enemy than ally. That lord is a creepy and dirty piece of work. He doesn't have to work at the evil thing, he's got it down. His whole force getting massacred and he goes around stabbing and kicking the ones that are still alive? What an idiot. Guy is just a moron who thinks he can control everything, but couldn't even read the writing. Can't wait to bring him down and for Morgiana to break free of all the chains holding her down. Well decent hints (though maybe too easy) in regards to Alibaba's character. Clearly from a high up family considering he can read that writing so well. Something terrible happened that left him on his own and feeling he needed to gather enough money to change the country.

Great episode! From the sounds of it I'm one of the few manga fans who doesn't mind the faster pace and the changes. The changes they made to the dungeon were especially great as it gives the dungeon more of a personality.
In terms of the ED: I found it a little jarring in episode 1 when it played over actual dialogue and such, but accompanied by a little cute slideshow I actually think it's pretty good! Plus, the slideshow is just ripe with good Magi avatars! |

I thnk what I like the most is the OST. It really fits with the overall theme of this story and also pleasant to listen too. The change in the dungeon also seem to give more action packed scene.. well at least, I don't remember that the dungeon was that intense when I read the manga.

That's where Aladdin equating the "invisible chain" binding the slaves comes in play.
Enduring years of torment and education to never "disobey the master" is a psychological chain, not easily broken by logic.

But as Morgiana said she can barely even remember her home. Which means she's been treated like this for just about as long as she can recall. While people like Aladdin and Alibaba can talk to her, it's still up to her to take that step. Not easy, but once she turns her view of it being impossible to possible then she'll be able to break free.

This episode was as enjoyable as the first, though even a non-manga reader like me can tell this is fast paced.
I hope the lord will get his just deserts by the end of this arc, preferably at Morgiana's hand. He's an even bigger asshole than the fat guy from last week.
