Enjoyed the first episode, and I can totally see why this will be BL bait. But putting that aside, I'm interested in seeing how they handle the cycling portion. I've never watched the sport so I can say I know much if anything about the technical aspect of cycling. In the end it probably comes down to training, endurance and equipment.

Yes I can also see why the Fujoshi love this. But I have to admit I like the potential relationship between the two main characters as well.

I was actually expecting Diamond no Ace would be my favorite sports series of the season, but I ended up enjoying this one a lot more. It had me smiling (and at times laughing) throughout the episode.

Loved the after credits scene especially lol.

When Onoda said "To Akiba", and they showed that glasses maid, she had an uncanny resemblance to Onoda himself. Does he have a crossdressing hobby?

Art is greatly improved compared to the manga, nice to see such a trend (first Service x Service, now this).

I didn't plan to watch this since the characters designs don't look all that hawt but I ended watching it thinking it was something else. It's a good thing because I do like the premise of "genius cyclist in the making." It can be exciting (like Hajime no Ippo or close to it.) I didn't even think about the "BL" aspect until the fanboys in here mention it (to my surprise.) But BL is strictly for two bishies. These two aren't. One is a nerd and the other just isn't pretty enough. But I shall entertain that possibility and watch future eps with that in mind. And now that I start to think about it. They may even make a cute couple.

You clearly haven't watched and or read enough BL. BL does not just include what one would consider as a "bishie". And I'd disagree that they aren't bishies personally. BL is just a genre that has many different types of drawing styles and some drawings styles are going to be more attractive to the eyes then others. As long as the main focus of the story is two guys hooking up it's BL regardless of how attractive one might find them.

This show of course isn't technically BL, but the two main characters certainly have the makings to attract that crowd myself included since I'm a part of that crowd. Although, I was interested in the show because of the cycling aspect and I thought the green haired guy was kind of interesting looking.

Exactly. They're a cute couple. Nerdy but ultimately adorable (with shota potential) main character with a classic bishounen (who may not be much, but he's voiced by a nice seiyuu) .... I felt the the BL dokidokis especially when it got to the after-credits scene and the bishounen
Spoiler for spoiler:
.

Think of the doujinshi plotline: "Main character tries to get bishounen into anime. Bishounen tries to understand but ends up stumbling face first into BL merchandise and wondering why his new friend is into this kind of thing.... "

Erm. Anyway. The BL bait isn't the only thing going for it. I liked the pacing for that first episode, it really gets you interested. The main character, like I said, is adorable and relatable. I like how earnest he is about anime and stuff. And all those giffable moments of cuteness... even if this didn't really have BL in it, the adorable main character wins me over!

Err brushing aside the "bl" talk, that was an ok episode. Thought MC was a bit annoying though. Not sure if the sports aspect of the show can be sustained for me; the only sports anime I ended up loving was Cross Game, and everyone knows how much focus the sports got in that show (heh).

The episode felt so short to me, in a good way, because now I can't wait until the next episode.

I spend my weekends climbing hills on a road bike so this anime pique my interest. It's nice to see the high schoolers using nice bikes for their age. However, looks like the MC in the opening use a vintage road bike.

Princess, princess~
I need to sing this song while climbing.

Yeah, three third-years and three freshmen - I don't think the Wataru planned it, but he could hardly have planned it better...

Yowapeda is a quirky little series. It doesn't fit neatly into any cliché, which is fitting as it's pretty much about acceptance and being yourself. I think it has a chance to be a crossover success more so than most sports adaptations.

I just hope it doesn't bomb. With so many anime this season and some returning favorites it's got a lot of competition. But I guess I should be happy that I'm already guaranteed three cours.

I would be shocked if it doesn't do halfway decently in the DVD market at least - it does have a build-in fujishi fanbase. And it has a thriving manga whose sales it can help support.

I'm actually interested in reading the manga, but I'm wondering if I should wait it out. Maybe I'll just see how long my patience can hold until I can't wait to know what happens next.

That kid is a total clutz.
Yet somehow this anime got my attention.
I had a few laughs too.
This looks like an OK anime.
Otaku & sports! What a wild combination!
I'll give it a few episodes.

Not bad but not as good as Over Drive in my opinion.

This is more what a sports show (Judging from what I read ahead in the manga) should be like unlike that embarrassment called Free! last season. It is pretty enjoyable.

If every sports series were the same I'd be pretty bored with the genre.
