The yaoi undertones is strong in this one.

Regardless though, I liked the episode. Maybe because I caught an instant liking to Coach and Captain (can't even remember their names lol) being together...

Because by the time they notice him, he's already passed the ball.

Or do you mean they should keep an eye on him all the time? They can't, because there are other things going on on the court.

They are similar indeed, but Hanamichi started off as a total n00b though.

Strangely, this series is not getting the attention it deserves.

Yeah it seems as though no one is watching this show. I reckon it's because this show has nothing really going for it, as there aren't really any big names working on it, basketball/sports anime aren't really that popular, and I think lots of people have lost faith in Production IG after a certain anime. Compare this to Medaka Box which has NisioIsin and Gainax as the two names that stand out massively.

Though about the anime itself, I really like Kuroko's type of characters. Deadpan, not too serious, laidback, and who are totally cool during most situations. Think Narukami Yuu. Makes for some interesting dynamics with Taiga and the rest of them.

Can't wait to see some basketball superpowers (it is a shounen jump series after all)

They can! That's exactly what the did to Taiga. Kept an eye on him and then blocked! I see no problem in having at least one person keeping an eye on Kuroko and blocking him since Kuroko's sport abilities are weak.

Yeah like other said, sport anime isn't popular. Even sport Jdramas aren't popular.

Which is a shame since I enjoyed this anime/manga
Tho I found the way they executed the animation for Kuroko shadow pass kinda..idk...awkward? lol..

Yeah. Even though there are many similarities to Slam Dunk in certain areas, it also has enough of its unique areas to make it interesting. It always hover between mid and low rankings in Jump, but I don't find it any less interesting and exciting than Slam Dunk, Eyeshield, or Prince of Tennis (which I've given up on).

I actually prefer Kuroko type as a protagonist over Hanamichi too.

Even though it may seem strange, why it's not possible to observe Kuroko now will be explained later. He also has his weaknesses.

Except Kagami is noticeable. There'll always be time when you're not paying attention. Kuroko will escape when you're distracted.

Well I don't really get his disappearance factor. There is no logical way to just disappear, he must be spotted at some point. I'm looking forward to see his technique crashed.

This is shonen jump,I don't expect anything that realistic,is it really any less logical than a girl being able to judge players by watching them topless?

Sigh... when will people learn not to bring logic and realism into anime...

Real life is boring as, it's techniques such as these which make anime interesting.

It did in the manga..but it's much later...
but anyway it's a manga...there's no point to ask for realism

I'm not usually a fan of sport anime, but I decided to give it a shot.

I have to know who is in charge of the BGM, it was amazing!

This really needs more attention. I don't know read much manga, but this is one i've kept up with and i'm glad it's being animated. I don't know how it usually is, but i guess people who read the manga and watch it don't really have much to say. Is that how it is with other shows?

It's actually adapting the manga quite faithfully. They also added some extras like the rooftop scene but it's really, really on point. The BGM is top-notch too.
