Great! I already like it more than the first one.
Edit: Rather, I guess it'd be better to say that I really like the message that this gives out more than the first one. It definitely feels like it portrays significant parts in Oreki's character in an interesting way, demonstrates how he feels about his club, and it's funny too . I also like seeing the cast of past episodes again. Last edited by OceanBlue; 2012-07-15 at 16:05. |

Another great episode for me.
The whole quiz show is funny mainly because of the stupid guy that do the dancing or moving from O or X thing. Oreki is still getting new item from trading the past one. I can't remember where I heard this one from but this event is something familiar with me. Mayaka got an intense girls talk with her sempai and then I wonder why the president walks away when Mayaka approach her sempai but its to display that in the front door! LoLz I wonder if that is set up or something making the whole confrontation into a show. Chitanda is getting curious on something with lost item or tarot card of her friend and Mayaka also happens to lost her manga and this girl really has LARGE collection of it. At first Mayaka didn't strike me as that character that was why I was puzzled why was she in manga club but her room answers it. Oreki got busted in the end for looking at Chitanda's picture. What a cute event that part was Over all good episode for me.

After watching the subtitle it seems the pres is quite the joker. The poster she made is actually advertising ibara vs nakoruru over the value of manga, "Girls at War" "Happening Now". I guess that will get tons of costumers lol.

I would have never guessed that the priestess girl was such an instigator; you could tell she wanted that fight, and wasn't trying to hide it. In last episode, she appeared to be supportive and understanding of Mayaka's problem, just another good senpai like the Club President. And on that note, the president sure surprised me too! I also thought she would intervene and stop the arguing. I suppose wanting your club booth not to fail can turn even the kind ones into cunning sharks .

Hotarou secluded himself in his booth to avoid having a fulfilling, but draining festival adventure, but thanks to his sister, he's getting one anyway.
Wow, when I said last week that Mayaka was into the deep cuts, I was only half right. That girl is an insatiable manga omnivore. |

^ Yeah, Mayaka needs to accept her manga-nerd status and be proud of it. I'm guessing this isn't the first time she's gotten into a heated debate with her club members either...
By the way, some of the girls still walk like they just crapped themselves. |

Aside from priestess girl though, the other members were giving Mayaka a look. Were they just looking to her as a retaliation call, or was it Mayaka's idea to do the reviews? More fun with Chitanda hah: That fortune teller girl referred to Chitanda as Eru. What could their relationship be? Chitanda: Oreki, you didn't.... Oreki: Err.... The new opening and ending are interesting. For the new opening, its visuals stand out to me more than the first one, but music-wise I prefer the former. We've already seen the ending, and I've watched it many times already. I still love it though. |

This episode just confirms that I love this series a lot, as the characters have grown on me enough so that an episode of them just doing their own thing is great for me. One thing I like about this festival arc is that it puts equal focus on all four of them.

Well, here we have another episode that immerses us the whole Kanya Festival ambiance, but this one had a good deal more plot to work with. For one thing, it looks like the arc mystery is starting to reveal itself slowly.
Anyway, I couldn't help but be amused by Satoshi's theatrics during the quiz part, though I'm sure his ridiculous outfit had a lot to do with it. On the other hand, Mayaka's little argument in the Manga club felt awfully familiar. Hmmm... Like something from this very forum perhaps? But really, I'm a bit surprised (and impressed) at Mayaka's taste in manga. I didn't figure that she took it quite so seriously. Hats off to her, I guess. Oh, and that awkward moment between Houtarou and Eru around the end of the episode was just adorable.

That whole quiz show sequence was pure genius start to finish, but my favorite part was when Satoshi did those spins and his Saturn (with the top-hat) over-rotated a half-turn every time.
Hyouka is so much better without a lot of plot to obscure just how delightfully weird and silly it can be. It's like all that weirdness and silliness are tidepools, and when the plot washes in you can't see all the tidepools and crabs and stuff - you just see a big body of plot.

Mayaka sure has it rough it in the Manga club, everyone was just looking at her waiting for her to react and the president even exploited her argument. I wonder if it was Mayaka's idea to do reviews? As for Satoshi, I have no words, the Saturn costume, the spins... Pretty good episode, although I guess we'll get to the mystery thefts next episode?

Oh god, that moment when Oreki got busted was priceless That's also the first time I've seen Chitanda flustered/embarrassed around him

Given that her name had a 'Ten' in it, I would say she's one of the four reputable families like Chitanda, so childhood friend? old classmates?
