I'd actually be interested in seeing what they could do with this series. The action is certainly the least interesting part. I actually like that it felt like a harem where the attraction sort of built throughout the anime. I always have an instinctive dislike of the odd gynophobia that so many male main characters seem to have. Like OMG wtf did you just kiss me OMG yur a gurl even. It's like, no only the most immature of boys in middle school would ever do that. I mean I wasn't even in to girls in middle school (in that there were more important things to do at the time, clearly) and even *I* enjoyed the opposite gender. So I find that whole interaction very forced (although apparently it resonates with the young japanese male).
That aside I liked how motivations of the harem changed as the story progressed. It was a little hokey that they basically had and ABABABA' story arc. Introduce a new girl. Interact with them. Force them to decide to kiss godou. Beat the current challenge (even if not completely). Regardless the characterizations were interesting, and the magic and limitations at least gave some credence to the madness of how his sword worked. While I dislike randomly going off script, I understand the desire to wrap up the series on a solid note rather than have some weird we-want-a-second-season style ending... because if you don't get it it reduces the work you've done. So going from that line of logic I think they did a good job. Athena is still athena, metis was already known to be a part of athena from the athena fight. It cleanly cleans up after the whole prediction thing. That being said if that seed of a plotline resolved differently in the books (which I haven't read) that will bode poorly for any continuation. Solid but not without it's shortcomings. I think the strongest point were the well fleshed out characters and playing with Godou's misunderstandings. For instance it takes a lot of interactions for Godou to finally figure out Erica just fell for him. |

I don't know what you are referring to with regards to enjoyment. Itsuten was never a harem nor fan service series to begin with but the show made it into one. And only the first 2 episodes were faithful. The rest were random hashing of novel contents in a haphazard manner into a somewhat original story. I dare say no shit I've seen to date is more unfaithfully adapted than Itsuten.

This series has mix feelings for me. It was entertaining, and I definitely enjoyed the interactions. However, there were some parts that just felt out of place or lacking information. I guess, as others mention, they compressed too much material into this series that they were forced to leave out too much of the explaination. However, if I disregard most of things they say and just watch what they do, the series becomes much simpler and easier to enjoy. The characters are definitely the strong point of this series. You can grow really attach to them, and they develop each one really well, with focus on all the main heroines. I definitely enjoyed that aspect of the series.

I'm not really that disappointed with the anime as a whole. It was okay. I really liked how the story played with established myths. The portrayal of the girls was really bad until the final few episodes though. Especially Yuri.
And then there's this last episode which I just can't like. The Harem Ending wasn't very believable. Now don't get me wrong, it was doing fine in heading up to the Harem Ending before this point. But I feel that it skipped over a few things and suddenly all of the girls love him unconditionally. Sorry, but it just doesn't click. |

Ya 6/10 from me as well, some truely awful characters namely Erica and Yuri and a boring kiss fight monster(god) of the week story.
Amazed I didn't totally drop the series from early on like I did with the Light novels, overall the weakest anime I've watched this season. |

And you think she'll stop? For that matter, you think she's all that serious about enforcing that "only one mistress" thing? It doesn't matter to her whether Godou cheats on her with one girl or thirty - she'll stick with him.

But in anime, these girls are usually madly in love with the guy to the point of staying with him through just about anything. I'd bet except for your typical jealous Tsundere, all harem girls wouldn't have a problem sharing.

This anime as whole isn't bad, but maybe because I like Harem series, but aside from that this anime need better plot, IMO the character development was to much focus in Erica that's why this seems bad.
But I still looking forward to see 2nd session for this series. |

So don't know if this was already posted anywhere else, but saw this over at the "Hagure Yuusha" thread -- bold emphasis is mine. Campione was crushed. Unless it drove up LN sales big time the chance of S2 is practically nil.
