Still, at least there's SOMEthing happening in the story. It's better than what we've been getting, especially since it's still a flashback.

I keep going back to the other chapter but then I'm like "I have no idea what he's saying here, so we'll just skip that".

I suppose I could just do a timeline translation or something. :S (Part of me secretly likes the novelization of Preventer 5 )

At any rate, while I don't have my copy yet, I'd just like to note that it doesn't say anything about Dixneuf being in his suit just yet. It was just dropped off, so I'm assuming he's on his way there to pick it up and WuFei is like "haha no."

Guess I'm the only one that thought this chapter was remotely interesting haha.

Actually I didn't have a problem with this chapter, it was just shocking how short it was is all.

I'm translating backwards and I have no idea why... here's the last part of the chapter from the end of May.

SOUTH SIDE METROPOLITAN AREA
1ST SQUADRON 07:55PM

Trowa and Quatre climbed to the rooftop of the city's thirty storey skyscraper where a small anti-air bazooka was installed. From there they could look down on the castle. Roughly thirty minutes earlier, the 2nd squadron of Duo and WuFei dropped down in a hilly area of the forest on the north side. Around this time, coming out of the forest, they should be getting close to the rear section of the castle.

"It won't be long now, huh?"

"Right. Trowa, do you mind taking over for the comms?"

"Not particularly, but..."

Quatre handed Trowa the wireless.

"I'm not fond of that person."

The person on the other end was Lady Une, director of the Preventers who was pretending to touch up her makeup with a compact mirror.

"As expected, Trowa Barton. You made sure the OZ line could be used."

"We'll commence the operation in 250 seconds. You'll have to move as well."

"No, wait. Relena Darlian isn't here right now. If we do something ridiculous her life could be in danger."

"Hmph. I see the Preventers also became rather well mannered."

"What?"

"Only the small and cunning survive on the battlefield. I thought was something that Colonel Une knew instinctively."

Although the two had a relationship of superior officer and subordinate during their OZ days, those words hadn't changed at all, even now.

"Leave Relena to us. You take care of the other hostages."

"Very well. We'll do what we can. What's the rendez-vous point?"

"The location can be specified via this comm line. You can move as you see fit."

"Understood."

Closing the compact she cut the comm.

Quatre looked down into the castle and reported to Trowa.

"The VTOL craft is up."

Trowa said nothing as he tossed the wireless at Quatre. With quick motions, he positioned the anti-air bazooka and took aim.

"I'll tell Heero the mission is a go."

Trowa pulled the trigger with zero inflection.

The shell went off with a thunderous roar and headed straight for the Preventer's VTOL craft. Several seconds later, with perfect aim, the shell hit the rear section of the body.

A flash covered the surroundings as the thunderous roar of an explosion reverberated.

Trowa remained expressionless in spite of the extremely flashy attack.

SANC KINGDOM SKIES
VTOL CRAFT 7:59PM

Black smoke from an explosion billowed out of the rear section and the craft lost all flight stability. Sally frantically gripped the controls.

"Very nice!" she said with a smile.

Meanwhile, she shouted into the single comm line to the castle.

"This is Preventer Water, Epyon de Teros, respond!"

On the monitor, a man in sunglasses and a scarf appeared.

"What is it?"

"I want to ask you something! Why'd you shoot us down?! You don't need the ransom?!"

"W-wait!"

If you can't keep a handle on your own subordinates then I guess that's a deal breaker, huh? Vertical propulsion is damaged! Sixty seconds until we make an emergency landing! I'd get to a safe place to avoid the explosion if I were you!"

Cutting off the wireless abruptly, bought her some time to bring the craft over the bay before she made a U-turn back towards the castle. She set the controls to autopilot and sent it on a course to ram it into the outer walls of the castle. Judging from her calculations, the castle walls would crumble and it should make an emergency landing near the courtyard. Sally opened the hatch and jumped out with a parachute.

SANC KINGDOM BAY
SEA BOTTOM 8:00PM

Having received word from Quatre, Heero fired four torpedoes. Those that hit the wall of rock opened up an entrance way of a cave that was completely blocked. By now, the Preventer VTOL craft was likely causing an uproar after dive bombing it at the castle. As the earth, sand and rock fall, the Cancer pressed forward without hesitation.

Heero had no hesitations.

"Hold on, Relena."

Even after trying countless times to purge it from his mind, he couldn't erase Relena's face.

"..."

Even now he didn't feel sense any doubts by Relena's face coming to mind.

"This is Red One Cancer. Entering passageway and proceeding ahead to target point."

SANC KINGDOM CASTLE REAR GARDEN
2ND SQUADRON 8:02PM

Using the landing equipment like a helicopter, Duo and WuFei touched down on a part of the castle premises. Although two soldiers on lookout were standing in a secluded place, their attention was diverted by the sound of an explosion that occurred on the other side of the castle. As Duo looked on at the light of the blazing inferno, a wry smile filled his face.

"Yeah, it was a bit gaudy of me."

About this time, Quatre and Trowa should be starting their break in from the front of the outer wall.

"We're not in a hurry here."

As the soldiers suddenly saw them, WuFei, who already landed, used the thruster device like a Chinese sword and knocked them out cold. The thruster equipment which isn't made to be a weapon crumpled easily after just two shots.

"He's just the same, always violent... Those things are expensive!" he thought but he didn't utter a peep.

WuFei told him to hurry as they started to strip the camoflaged clothes from the soldiers.

"Hey hey! It's not like it's a hobby of mine to strip some asshole of his clothes!" The usual loose-lipped Duo.

Having become terrorists, the two planned on infiltrating the castle.

"There's roughly 18 left, huh?" The always silent WuFei asked to himself.

Duo spoke while putting on the camouflaged clothes, "Since Sally gave us a head count, it'll be three people each... Piece of cake!"

"Oh?"

"What? Proud of me?"

"I didn't think math was your forte."

"I swear, this guy is the WORST partner!"

Duo cursed his own luck.

SANC KINGDOM CASTLE
UNDERGROUND SHELTER 8:15PM

Dixneuf was unable to hide his frustration with the stream of information coming in.

"Christ, what are they doing?!"

He was forced to separate the personnel battling the craft that had gone up in flames. He reluctantly sent out the two soldiers who were with him.

"Miss Relena, it seems like you've been abandoned by the Earth Sphere government."

"Yes. I feel relieved thanks to you."

"?"

「これでブレーキを踏まなくて済みます」 (You need to continue without stopping? Something? Idk!)

The abundance of cryptic words caused chaos inside Dixneuf's head.

"I don't want to be protected peacefully! I want to create a peace that I want to protect!"

Without warning, the old style laptop was raised high overhead.

"That's the Peacecrafts!" he thought as it was thrown at the bed. *KACHING!* The sound of internal parts being destroyed could be heard.

"You fool!" Dixneuf cried out, astonished.

Siezing the opportunity, the butler Pargan attacked. He knocked Dixneuf off his feet, taking his pistol.

"My apologies Master Dixneuf but, I feel that it's better not to give up." Pargan said in a calm tone as he pointed the gun towards him.

Dixneuf raised both hands as he slowly stood up.

"Hmph... One cannot be too careful, right?"

He was surprisingly composed.

In the palm of his right hand there was a switch. The Epyon de Telos still had their trump card which was the nuke.

"If you injure me any more, I'll blow us up instantly. You honestly didn't think you'd be saved with that did you?"

As Pargan was baffled, he looked at Relena and Marlene's faces. The two were powerless as they shook their heads.

"Now then, why don't you give that back to me, huh?"

Pargan held out the pistol to Dixneuf. Just as he took the gun he pistol whipped the old butler across the face. His bloody saliva and several front teeth flew about. He collapsed onto the bed where he passed out.

"I don't want you to think poorly... As a Neuenheim, we make it a rule to return double the humiliation."

He picked up the small, old style computer from the bed.

"How could you treat precious little Sam so cruely?" He sharply stared at Relena contrary to his words. However, Relena didn't hide her sharp stare back.

When he tried to turn on the computer, the monitor was cracked and remained pitch black.

"There's still time to revert it."

Just then, the intercom from outside came up.

"What happened?"

Looking at the monitor, there was a lone terrorist standing in front of the door.

"You finally made it back? Hey, are you armed?"

"Of course." Dixneuf was assured by the person outside.

"Good, get in here."

"Roger that."

When the door opened, Heero Yuy was standing there disguised as a terrorist. Dixneuf realized it wasn't a soldier he employed.

"Who the hell are you?!"

"Heero!!" Relena cried out without thinking.

"Don't move." Heero said, leveling the gun at Dixneuf.

Dixneuf snubbed his words, "Shall I use the nuke?"

"Try it."

Heero pointed his jaw towards the fallen Pagan, "I'm not as considerate as he is..." he said dispassionately.

He intended to ignore Quatre's insistence of a regard for human life.

"I'll fight through this... Longer than anyone in outer space." Even now, he intended to hold onto his strong, unwavering beliefs.

"Longer than you, Relena." he said. Although his voice was cold-hearted, there still seemed to be a tenderness wrapped up somewhere in it.

As Relena reflected upon his words, she seemed sad as she replied, "No, Heero. I cannot allow that."

Tears welled up and then fell from her eyes. Relena had not forgotten. She hadn't forgotten that he said, "I'll no longer kill anyone ever again."

"That is my mission." As always, Heero's voice didn't change.

From his eye, a solitary, glistening teardrop seemed to well up and fall.

"I will kill Relena..."

Surely there must be some mistake.

"...I have to kill her."

Heero Yuy should not cry. But, I felt he had a heart after all. That doesn't mean he acts on how he feels. But, amongst us, his tears alone are the only ones that haven't yet frozen.

Unless there's something introduced in FT I've missed, I don't think either of them have a problem with her.

Just caught up with the latest posts from everybody. OMG! This story makes no sense! The whole Heero being the only one to kill Relena in order to save humanity is so freakishly contrived and poorly thought out that I'm convinced any of us can think of a better continuation to this series in our sleep!! I've read fanfiction 100 times worthier than this. Each chapter that comes out concerning FT or Preventer 5 consistently leaves me thoroughly confused.

Dixneuf (btw, totally pronounceable name ) is the guy at the very end of the original Preventer 5 right? The one with his face covered and sunglasses and it was heavily implied it was Zechs who was disguised as an enemy soldier to save Relena and the hostages?

I would've totally LOVED it if it was Zechs! That would've been awesome and would totally make sense. Not to mention it would reunite Relena and Zechs and have them confront their conflicted sybling relationship or lack thereof. But wait, ACTUAL character development in GW? NO, who would want that?!

Also, were Relena and Dorothy at one point together when the enemy troops took over? Or were they always seperated. To me, it would make so much sense for these two to try to end up together during this hostage situation. Not only would it make for fascinating character interaction considering these two make for some awesome chemisty (platonic of course) but wouldn't Dorothy make it her priority to keep Relena safe? Maybe I'm wrong but at some point during the show, was it ever mentioned or shown that she wouldn't want harm to come to Relena even with their opposing ideals? Or has my starvation for any relationship depth in GW have me making up memories now? @_@

And Deacon, thanks again for translating that bit for us even though you're having trouble. Is it just me or does Trowa sound uncharacteristically harsh while talking to Quatre when he mentions not wanting to endanger Relena's life? What this crap about the 'small and cunning survive the battlefield?' Uh, dude, this is a HOSTAGE situation. The main mission is to save the very ppl who can't save themselves, you dumbass. If you disagree, then what the heck are you doing there?! Not to mention you didn't think that way in the show when you ditched everything to save Catherine when you saw her in a hostage situation in the monitors. GOD! Does Sumizawa even try?!>.<

The art continues to be amazing. Honestly it easily stands above all other Gundam releases when it comes to art.

However there is still a huge disconnect with how everyone looks. Heero and Relena understanable. Wufei/Trowa/Quatra however don't look like they've hardly aged and yet Cathrine and Rasheed both have.

Edit: Also I'm guessing that is from Preventer 5 so they wouldn't have aged alot. I'm talking more like Trowa on the cover of book 6 infront of Pro. He hardly looks aged there.

Pictures of the older pilots (I mean, 30 years older) have not been released yet. I know that because Father Maxwell's face hasn't been shown, only his body, and Trowa's hair would be grey.
About the Preventer 5 cover, they do seem to look older to me! At least 17...

And Dixneuf is pronounced "disnuf" ("dis" like in "disney", the "u" like in "but", the "f" like in "beef".
