Steins;Gate Movie - News & Anticipation (No Game Spoilers)

yay it hasn't been cancelled. We have no idea what it's actually going to be about just judging by the trailer though.

The movie sounds like it might follow the events of the latest yet-to-be-released side story novel where there is a new character "Maho Hiyajo" in "The Pandora Loop of Eternity". Kurisu mentions she can't control her memory and losing the meaning to live in the trailer so, I'm guessing it might be the same story.

Not sure if I'm allowed to say any more than that here but the summary of the novel sounds interesting

There is an AI named "Amadeus" that contains Kurisu's memory which might be how she decides to store her memory when she loses them.

Meanwhile, Okabe continues his search of the real Kurisu but has no clue as to where she is until someone named "Shiina Kagari" contacts him.

So according to the opening in the PV, the story is set at 2011.07.08. That's one year after the Steins;Gate incident. We'll have time skip here? I hope Kurisu doesn't work for SERN then.

That means that the outcome is already defined.

The whole point of the series was that Mayuri keeps dying in the Beta line, thus the conflict when Okabe can finally go back to the Alpha line, but remembers that Kurisu would die there. Nevertheless, they pull off the trickery that works everything out. Ergo, there's no doubt they end in the Alpha line.

They specifically mentioned they were in neither the alpha or beta worldlines at the end. They're in the Steins;Gate world line now.

I suppose it's not exactly the alpha line because of the last couple episodes, they definitely did mention that. I just mean it's closer to the alpha than the beta line in what happened.

The show is hinting that the sun is about to explode or at least the main character is uncovering top secrete documents that suggest this...so how the hell would Okabe manage to create a world line where the sun is predicted to explode? lol No wonder there are no time machines in the Steins;Gate world line. The sun explodes before they get the chance to. :P

Aren't you mixing them up?

Steins;Gate started in the beta timeline. Okabe travels to the alpha timeline in the first episode, where the majority of the series takes place.

Mayuri's death occurs in the alpha line. Okabe witnesses Kurisu's death in the beta line. Before the Steins;Gate timeline occurs, they are most definitely in the beta line.
